Van camping in the Nook at Elwha was quiet and peaceful! The hosts were super accommodating of my last minute vehicle change and helped me find a place that would fit a large campervan. The bathroom was warm, which was perfect for showering after a week on the road, but also a bit far from my campsite (an oversight on my part). I’m not sure if this is normal, but both porta-jons near me were locked- didn’t have a chance to ask the hosts about it since I was mostly away during operating hours. Having WiFi was a nice surprise, which helped me stay in the loop about events planned at the fungi festival.

We tent camped on site T18. The signage was amazing and we never felt lost, unlike at some other HipCamps we have been to. The facilities were clean, showers hot. Plus, our car battery died and the owners came out and helped us at 6 in the morning, which just shows what good people are running this place. 10/10 would recommend and definitely plan on coming back next year!

I needed a quick spot close to the Blackball Ferry that runs from Port Angeles to Victoria. I wasn’t arriving until after 7pm Sunday night and had to be at the ferry 15mins away at 7:20am on Monday. I needed close. I needed easy to find. I need clean and safe. I needed no issues for after hour arrivals.
This place ticked ALL those boxes! I will return when needing to take the ferry again for more fun adventures on Vancouver Island. BUT I will also be back to explore the area. I’ve been exploring the OP for years and have my fave spots but they were too far for my needs on this trip. But they are perfectly located for exploring great nearby spots.

I really enjoyed my stay at Chris's Elwah RV Park and Campground. It was clean, quiet, and the location was fantastic - just down the street from the road to Hurricane Ridge.

The campground was nice and appeared well-maintained, however the sites are very small and way closer together than the pictures make them look. Our tent was about 10 feet from our neighbor’s tent. The bathrooms and showers are clean, and they have a small store on-site, as well as a community garden and laundry room. The campground is in a good location, a short drive away from many popular destinations in Olympic National Park, and Salt Creek Recreation Area. On our second night, we could hear another family screaming at each other for a couple of hours on end, after 9:00 at night—which is something that could happen at any campground, but it still wasn’t very pleasurable. Also, we contacted the host to let them know we would be arriving a little late to check in, however they never responded and upon arrival they did not leave us a packet with directions to our site and the code for the bathroom, so finding our site at night time was a little difficult. Overall we enjoyed our stay, despite the negatives.

This place was great for us. We were in a van & needed to go to a wedding in Sequim so the showers were perfect. Super close to mtn bike trails and we rode a lot too. Really nice folks & facility. It's a big campground with a lot of spots. We normally camp dispersed but needed facilities so this was perfect.

Tent camped here for only one night as we were passing through and visiting Olympic. Wish we could have stayed longer!! Courtney at the front desk was so informative and welcoming. The showers, while short, are warm! Cute cute grounds too!

Overall pretty okay. The camp sites are super super close together. We were probably 10 ft from the tent next to us and also our site smelled bad? I didn’t notice the smell anywhere else. The common space with small kitchen is nice. Has volleyball net and basketball hoop. Showers are nice but you do have to pay for them which is fine I just wish that was posted on campsite description

This was an amazing site! It was quiet and private in a rainforest like setting! The outhouse was clean and it felt safe! You could tell the host kept a watchful eye on the sites to make sure everything was safe!

Awesome campground, well loved and cared for. Quiet, maybe due to the fire ban, but probably the quietest big campground I have ever been at. Conveniently located and nice walks from our campsite. Would go again for sure.

Great campsite! a but close to your neighbors so if you’re looking for privacy probably not the best. Amenities were amazing and our pup/kids had a blast !

The campsite was clean and easy to navigate. All the amenities were nice and the staff was friendly. The tent campsite I had was a bit more exposed than I would have preferred but many of the other tent sites looked more private. I would probably stay here again.

I loved tent camping on Chris' land. This was my last stop along a 5 day backpacking trip throughout the Olympics.
I was quickly greeted by the staff upon my arrival and they were very knowledgeable regarding popular hiking trails nearby.
I especially appreciated the coin-operated hot showers.
I would definitely check out this facility when traveling through the Olympics.

Stayed at tent site PK4 which was nice and private, especially with our two dogs! Short walk to the bathrooms and clubhouse. Hosts and park were lovely, I’d definitely stay here again!

This was the most beautiful campground. All the people were friendly, everyone had their own little space, there were a lot of community areas and even a garden I picked some asparagus from! The bathrooms were always clean. The trails and water real close are gorgeous. Will definitely be staying here again.

Easy to find, close to town, clean campground and restroom, and had the dry camp area all to myself! The hosts were great communicators and sent me extra info to help me find my site after-hours. Would definitely stay again!
