We stayed at Old Moose Farm for one night. We loved it and only wish we could have stayed longer! It is in a great location, near lots of hikes and served as a great home base. The property is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed walking around and exploring the different parts. We stayed in the orchard camp site, which felt more like a private meadow than an orchard, but where we could also pick some apples and pitch our tent beneath a cluster of apple trees. Jesse was a great host! He gave a great tour of the property, and gave spot on recommendations for local places to eat. The property has a wonderful history and Jesse has an exciting vision for its future.

We loved it here. Jesse showed us to our site, explained how to used the bathroom facilities and what the views were of. He even gave us some local food recommendations. April's Maple in Canaan was soooo good. We're definitely adding this to our list of places to come back to. We would recommend his place to any and everyone.

We had an amazing time spending the night at Old Moose Farm on the Crom's Peak campsite. For starters the view up there is simply amazing as we can see 270 degrees of Vermont and New Hampshire mountains. Then you can take a walk out in the orchard, play some games the owner has setup or maybe even see some deers like we had the chance to. Cant recommend enough as this was one of the highs of our trip.
Nous avons vraiment aimé passer notre nuit au Old moose farm sur le site Crom's Peak. Pour commencer la vue est tout simplement incroyable car il est possible de voir les montagnes du Vermont et du New Hampshire sur 270 degrés. Par la suite il est possible d'aller marcher dans le vieux verger, de profiter des jeux installés par le propriétaire et peut-être meme de voir des chevreuils comme nous en avons eu la chance. Je recommande fortement d'ajouter cette emplacement a votre itinéraire puisque cette visite a été un des moments forts de nos vacances.

Highly recommend! We were so happy to spend a night away on Jesse's property. We tented at the Orchard Edge site, and had amazing mountain and meadow views with privacy and lots of room to spread out and explore. Jesse was an exceptional host, he met us upon arrival, led us to our site, and shared recommendations for what to do locally. The high-tech, clean makeshift bathroom at our spot was a really nice touch for such a primitive site. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Hands down the best Hipcamp I’ve been too yet, the views are incredible and there’s an awesome hike right around the corner up to the old fire tower where you can look down on the camp. Jesse was an amazing host and took care of us really well, will be back for sure!

It is a beautiful spot! Cannot emphasize enough the views you get here, especially in the fall. 270 degrees of mountains and mountains. Absolutely fantastic host. He setup a huge campfire that was a big surprise. Clean campsite toilets. Overall, a great experience!

Although some orchard sites may require a 4x4 vehicle, everything remains easily accessible on foot. This was our first Hipcamp experience and let me tell you we weren’t disappointed. First communication was very efficient and fast by Jesse. Then when we arrived Jesse was there with a big smile to greet us. You can tell he’s very happy to have people stay on his land. Our spot had an incredible view of the mountains, the kind you dream about when vanning. Jesse set up a toilet and water there which was a nice surprise. Also Jesse takes good care of the land , it was super clean and well kept. There is lots of space to walk the dog. The other spots to camp are a little more in the shade which can be a good thing depending on the weather.
We definitely recommend and will definitely return if our travels bring us in the area.

Jesse’s land was absolutely incredible and he was such a welcoming and attentive host. He was there to greet us, let the kids run around with his beautiful and well/mannered dogs and made sure we had everything we needed all weekend. He gave us great recommendations about touring the area and was extremely knowledgeable of and respectful of the land. The view from this site is beyond words. Serene, peaceful, private, beautiful and vast are just a few that come to mind. We felt safe and looked after and the kids had an awesome time exploring the property and eating apples from Jesse’s trees.

Car camping at Crom’s Peak was awesome. We were originally planning on heading to Pittsburg to go fishing until Jesse told us about the river on his property. He guided us through the woods and dropped us off at the river and gave us clear instructions on how to hike back to where we dropped off our car. We ended up fishing there the whole day and had a great time. If you get the chance check this place out! Jesse is the man!

My brother loved it. The view was amazing all around. At night the stars are beautiful, would recommend to bring a telescope to see the stars better. The host was great made dinner on the fire, was a good tour guide, Very pleasant to have a conversation with. Host has 2 dog that live there, they're well behaved and nice to play with.

We had a great time tent camping in the apple Grove. Our host Jesse, had our site ready with a fire pit and firewood and gave us some great advice of what was around the area. It was very quiet site. I was able to hang a hamock and finish a book during the day in the valley.We picked a perfect weekend to see the perseids meteor shower, truly a view of the skies you will never see in the city. The campground has some amazing views during the day time. Our host said from the top of the hill we can see mountains in Maine, Canada and the river valley in New Hampshire. In the evening we jumped in the car and went to Colebrook new Hampshire just a 15 minute drive away and went to Coos Brewing company for a local beer and grub. I recommend this campsite. It's very quiet and tucked in a valley near the top of a hill with great views. Just bring a flannel shirt and jeans just in case the temperatures dip a bit.

We had a fabulous visit here and can’t wait to go back! This is a beautiful property that offers several different camping sites set amidst apple orchards and Christmas Tree farmland on the side of a mountain. Our host, Jess, was extremely helpful and provided fire wood and a clean privy tent. Jess is knowledgeable about all of the flora and fauna seen around Northern Vermont, and he gave us a lesson on cooking over an open fire. He even made delicious steak tips on the fire for us one evening! This site feels remote (which we love!) …there were no lights at night, we could not hear any cars driving by, and it was a spectacular place to watch the weather roll in over Monadnock Mountain.

What a great place!! We arrived to Todd Hill Road and proceeded up, up and up passing thousands of Christmas trees emerging from the hillsides! --anticipating Old Moose Farms on the left as we crested the hill. Sure enough, we saw Jesse our Host greet us as we arrived. Host Jesse gave us the tour of the camping areas, allowing us to pick our ideal spot. We had reserved Crom's Peak, and toured the Deep Woods and the Apple Orchard, as well as a few other group camping areas. Let me say, the VIEWS here are incredible and the privacy of each camp site makes you feel like you have the whole place to yourself. We saw a convenient porta tent set up, including wipes, and a hand washing station. The firepits were very nicely done including wood on request. Jesse has done a fantastic job of maintaining this land, and in designing each camping area for a comfortable camping experience. We cooked our food right on the campfire pit in cast iron pan. Our Host Jesse seemed very available as needed. The second day he offered us a tour of the apple orchards as he pointed out and identified trees and berries along the way. Crom's Eye camping spot has spectacular views -- sunrise, sunset & star gazing, and for us! an amazing red moon-light night.
We will reserve again at Old Moose Farms for our next camping adventure!
Check out the river walk by the Connecticut River just a short drive back down the hill as well as a local brewery over the bridge & quaint breakfast shop.

What a night! This summer has been so rainy and wet so I wasn’t so sure how camping with my 3 daughters would go. We were lucky and got the most beautiful night of the summer! Jesse showed us to our site and gave us free firewood. He also showed us all the best berry patches and the girls couldn’t stop munching. We stargazed and slept like rocks. The photos can’t do justice to the variety of views and trails the property offers before you even leave to explore the area. 10/10
