Explore the wooded areas by hiking through the property, revealing its natural beauty. With 2 wash areas available, you'll find convenience and comfort throughout your stay. Campfires are welcomed, provided there's no active burn ban in effect. Just 1 mile away, Lake Travis beckons for boating, fishing, and swimming, ensuring endless outdoor enjoyment. As you navigate the dirt roads, you'll find a private escape with individual campsites. The upper level of the property is camper-accessible, while the lower part requires either four-wheel drive or serves as walk-in tent sites. We're committed to enhancing your camping experience, with ongoing property upgrades planned over time. Cedar and oak trees grace the landscape, offering shade and adding to the natural ambiance. We had the best trip ever!! My husband and I have 3 kids(10, 11, 14), we own a RV and LOVE camping, but our kids have never camped in a tent. This was the perfect place for our first time tent camping. It’s beautiful, quiet and it was everything you dream of when you dream of camping! We will be back!

Host allowed us to check in and bit early since we got there sooner than expected. The entrance wasn’t clearly marked but have found it after contacting the host. We stayed at the bottom campsite and it was fun crawling down and up with my jeep. Overall this place was quiet and we have enjoyed cedar trees.

Property is very easy to find and just minutes from 'civilization'. The road going into the property is fairly steep and rocky, I would hesitate to bring a regular car, a pickup truck or an SUV wont have any problems. I found a great secluded spot that had just been recently graded so it was perfectly smooth and level. An added bonus was an old round top patio table on the site, I think thats the only add-on amenity to be found, lol. The whole property is very pretty with an abundance of cedar trees and is very hilly with camp sites dispersed widely. Chances are you may not see anyone else. Very quiet at night, an occasional dog barking and traffic can be heard on the nearby FM road, but its more of a background noise. Communication with the host (Tim) was very good. Will def stay again.

Nice primitive campgrounds relatively remote. The road to some sites is overgrown and might leave some pinstripes on your paint. 4wd might be required to get to one site, and would be beneficial if it rains. But it is a nice place to camp near Austin with some nice views. Individual campsites are not assigned and are first come.

Misleading Campsite Listing

We recently booked a campsite for 10 cars based on the online description, expecting to have the entire spot to ourselves. However, we were surprised to find upon arrival that the listing allows multiple reservations onsite, which is shared among multiple campsites. Unfortunately, the site clearly cannot comfortably accommodate this many vehicles multiplied by a few, which led to a cramped and less enjoyable experience. The listing should be updated to reflect the actual capacity and layout of the campsites to prevent future misunderstandings. Accurate descriptions are crucial for planning and ensuring a pleasant stay. While the setting itself was beautiful, the discrepancy between the advertised and actual conditions was quite disappointing. I hope this feedback will be taken into consideration to improve accuracy and guest satisfaction.

Primitive Hill Country Camping

Had a great time tent camping in the Hill Country. Was very secluded and felt safe enough to leave our kayaks at our campsite while we went into town for a few hours. There were several spots to choose from and we had the place to ourselves. Would definitely recommend if in the area!

Lots of sites, easy enough access with 2WD, would definitely recommend AWD if wet. Lots of openings in the trees to see the sky for stargazing or eclipse watching.

Great host, convenient location. Gas stations just a few minutes away. We had an excellent stay. The kids had fun exploring the hillside. Nice level spot for tent, table, and fire. Plenty of places to hang hammocks.

This is a decent spot, it was very pretty and was nice to be close to the city. It’s very bumpy, I made it down to the first area in my 2WD Promaster, but any further would have been impassible for me. There’s a great spot for you if you can’t go further. Unfortunately, at 9pm some campers came and parked really close to me. It was probably their only choice. The listing said they offer 10 spots and I’m wondering if 9 of those are in the 4wd area because there was definitely not room for many in the area I was in. More than one vehicle felt like no privacy. No big deal if you can get further in your vehicle, just be warned in case you arrive late and don’t have 4wd

We had a great time at Blue sage. We struggled finding a local campsite that was open and would allow dogs and found this gem just before the sun went down. The campsites were easy to find and we had the place to ourselves.

Great primitive lot. Definitely an odd location on the side of a hill in a semi residential area. Dispite this it was secluded and peaceful. Very rocky so watch your step. Found two flat sites car camping or a roof top tent or ground tent. There is camping on the hill but it’s anything but flat. All and all it’s a great spot if your visit night city. I don’t know if I would go done in the car but trucks and SUVs have no problem.

I had a blast at Blue Sage camping. The site is large and has only a few sites with lots of space between. I'm a fan of disbursed camping and this place really hit the spot. Lots of raw and explorable land and lots of trees to hang a hammock and relax.
