Urban Regenerative Gardens

It's a lovely little farm, dog friendly and the volunteer host is so kind and thoughtful! She picked fresh leaves that have a calming property and gave me a tour of the farm - I saw the chicken coup "she lovingly calls the ladies" and the garden in front is incredible! Amazing river front but I did not have the time to take a dip. Chris is very responsive and allowed me to extend my stay last minute! It's a slice of heaven that is close to everything. Lennoxville lovely village is walking distance!

Enriching experience

I had a brief stopover but a wonderful experience. Greeted instantly, everyone was so friendly and the land thoughtfully tended to. An evening fire alongside the river and awakening to the geese parading upon the water will stay with me for awhile.

We really enjoyed Chris’s place. It is situated beside a beautiful river. We spent half a day canoeing up the river and back. The vegetable gardens are extensive with a large variety of plants and herbs. We particularly enjoyed the ethos and the meditation practice. Highly recommended for those seeking to learn about permaculture and meditation techniques.

A Fabulous river side Farm stay!

Glamping with purpose

I loved it thoroughly! I would recommend it to everyone who loves nature, Farming and someone who would like to take a dip in the river. Chris (the host) was a gentleman! He personally offered me a quite personalized experience during my stay.

Nice shaded area to stay with our Dodge AdVanTure van!! Access to the river was perfect. Had a swim with our dog, played with rocks and made some sculptures and ended the evening with a little fire on the beach. Woke up to the sounds of birds.

The riverside location is very peaceful and ideally situated for the Sherbrooke area. The first night was perfect and we woke up in an idyllic setting, the second night was extremely noisy we slept very badly because volunteers at the farm put on music and talked until very late at night, we did not return for our third night

Riverside Restore is a laid-back volunteer driven farm and demonstration garden, literally beside the River Françoise. The location is beautiful and the folks who run the farm are delightful and will pick you the makings for a beautiful salad. We camped beside the river, taking a dip after a hot Walk to and from town. We recommend this spot, as it is a wonderful alternative to a campground.

Rivercamp renewal was an interesting experience. It’s a beautiful property on a regenerative farm by the river. I appreciated the wisdom of the head gardener and it was great that he allowed us to set up our camp in a more private area away from the more congested allotted spots. What was not great however was one of the believes the farm has is to try and sell produce they grew to those who are staying as campers. So they provided us with this salad all ready made and presented but never did they tell us we would have to pay for it or make a “donation” we thought it was a gift which was why we said yes to it. Then we felt pressured to pay for a salad we didn’t even want because otherwise those beautiful vegetables would have gone to waste and it was already prepared for us. The intentions behind the idea are great but very poor communication around the offering and it was uncomfortable. So overall a decent campsite but much better communication is needed.

Fabulous Riverside Oasis

This spot is an absolute gem! This was our first time staying with hipcamp and Chris went above and beyond. From the confirmation text introducing us to his property to the many people who care for the garden, we felt so welcome. The river offered a wonderful breeze and magnificent views. 10/10 will recommend to everyone we know.

My kids and I enjoyed tent camping at this farm. Johann and a small hen gave us a warm welcome. My kids felt comfortable exploring the gardens, yard, and riverfront. This is a great spot to stay and relax or to explore the Eastern townships. The nearby community had great food and a Saturday market. We will definitely return.

This was exactly what I was looking for a solo camping trip. The location was very convenient and spacious. There was water, porta John and a shower available at the house but I had my own. Chris is very hospitable and kind. Great spot by the river and was able to use firepit and buy wood right there. I felt very safe and Chris was only a text away. This was my first hipcamp stay and Chris has set the bar high. Thanks so much

Serge était très accueillant. Très beau site sur le bord de la rivière. Vue partielle sur l'eau et mise à l'eau pour kayak/canot. Endroit paisible avec poules, lapin et canard en liberté qui venaient nous rendre visite. En campagne mais à quelques minutes de Sherbrooke. 5 min de la piste cyclable des grandes-fourches. Nous avons très apprécié. Merci beaucoup.

Great stay! The property and gardens were very beautiful! The hosts were wonderful and gave us a warm welcome. They even filled out water bottles for us in the house which we greatly appreciated! The only thing I will say is that it's a little bit noisy as the property is located on a fairly busy road.

Magical and unique

This is a unique place… next to a gorgeous river filled with wild life, majestic old trees, birds and a huge garden. But what made our stay magical, was the people who live there and how generous and genuine they were with us. We had a tent and it was raining a lot. So Chris offered us to stay in the camper trailer. It made our stay dry and comfortable. And the gardener, Yohan, brought us a basket filled with salad, edible flowers, herbs of thousand flavours…presented artistically with the joy of sharing their bounty. Wow… I have been many places. But this was not a “place” to stay. It was a little paradise where we were received like family. It made our stay absolutely delightful.

The view over the water was beautiful, especially at sunset. The host was fantastic, the people on the site were very helpful and friendly. There was ample yard for the dogs. Overall, it was a great experience. It was closer to the highway than I expected, but the noise was a fairly constant background drone, almost like white noise, and was not a problem at all.

The spot was convenient and easily accessible for us. The use of an indoor washroom was important for us. The greeter was helpful and friendly. As others had commented, traffic noise was very present. Canada geese in the river tried to outdo it. It worked well because we weren’t expecting a wilderness experience.

Parking in Chris's back yard worked out for us nicely as we had a reunion at one of the schools. The grass yard, had large trees for shade and was firm enough for my 33 ft class A and had a gentle slope, the space between the gardens may have been a little more level. There are no utilities.

Wonderful place to stay. We stayed at Chris’s place for 2 nights in our motor home on a level spot between two gardens. Flowers were in full bloom and were beautiful. His place is on the St. Francis River and we saw several deer and all kinds of birds. Explored the town of Sherbrooke on a 9 mile urban hike. Chris is a great host and we felt quite welcome.

Chris was very helpful with information and photos, so I’d know my way around. He also offered the tent trailer to sleep in, because of thunderstorms. The farm itself is cute, and the hipcamp area is well designated. Y only real gripe is that it is right next to the highway, and it sounded like there was an artillery(?) range somewhere close. My earplugs couldn’t quite handle that part. Overall, would recommend, with the noise caveat.
