This site was very private and we enjoyed every moment of our stay here. We had plenty of privacy, wood and nature surrounding us.

We loved tent camping at the Presidential Getaway! We were welcomed with a fire ring full of kindling and plenty of dry wood to burn ❤️ the site is flat and perfect for camping with grassy areas to setup and a gravel driveway for campers. Since we were camping in the early spring, the foliage wasn't completely filled in so you could see through the trees to the road but it still felt very private and isolated. We saw a horse and buggy which was a treat for me and the dogs! The stars were out in their full glory and listening to all of the night time nature sounds was so peaceful. We will definitely be back again and thank you for sharing this lovely space with us!

The site is beautiful. I was so happy upon arrival to this peaceful piece of land. Unfortunately, I was met immediately by clouds of gnats swarming all around my head. I camp a lot and am not at all deterred by bugs- it is nature- but this was almost unbearable. I attempted to set up camp despite this major annoyance but in the meantime noticed my dog foraging and eating something in the brush. When I investigated the area l found old kibble thrown all around the grounds. Not knowing what it was, how long it had been there, or if it was safe for him to consume, I quickly leashed him. In the maybe 10 minutes of him exploring, I then had to remove 5 ticks from his head and neck. Ugh..
So, despite the absolutely gorgeous weather and my deep desire to be there after a 2.5 hour drive, I decided to pack up and head home. I couldn’t risk my dog’s health- of not only the tick exposure but also eating potentially spoiled food.
Huge bummer.
I don’t fault the host at all. Like I said, it’s a beautiful area.
Wish people would be more cognizant of what they leave behind. My dog had some GI upset but is ok. We sadly just had to miss out on a great night camping.

It was a secluded and well kept campsite with tons of wood. There was a brief moment where someone parked at the head of the driveway into the campsite which was odd, as we had to run out and get a few extra supplies but they left within 20 minutes. We would have loved a grate for use over the fire. If you have more than one tent, someone will most likely be uncomfortable, as there were a good amount of roots and rocks, which made it difficult to choose a good place to set up after one or two tents.

Awesome site. We stayed here a couple months ago, loved it. Came back again. Always has plenty of firewood. Great place with lots to do nearby. Will definitely be back!!

This place is amazing. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Having wood there for us was awesome. Also if you have Verizon or AT&T you will have service.
I have so many great things to say I don’t know where to start.
Book this place and go find your peace. I did.

While camp is close to the road, it’s a very quiet road and it made access extremely easy. Didn’t see anyone the whole weekend and enjoyed ourselves around the fire. We appreciate Mat supplying us with firewood. Tried to split some to replenish what we used. We will definitely be back in the future!

This was our first time using hipcamp and our first secluded camping trip. The camp site was near a road so we did hear a bit of traffic during the day. The space itself was beautiful, and well maintained. Had a clear drive for us to park in. Having firewood and an ax available to us was the absolute best. Not having to lug in our own wood made it more than worth it. We didnt get the opportunity to meet our hosts, which I am honestly NOT mad about it just added to our privacy. But even though we didn't meet them, they're level of communication both before and after our stay was enough to let us know they cared and would be available if we needed anything. My fiancé and i do a grading scale out of five with every new place we try and we decided that we would give this place a 4.5 out 5. Traffic being the only down fall to no fault of the hosts. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet get away.

Easy access. Flat with gravel. Love the fire pit. Some daytime traffic. But quiet at night. Amish area so see them traveling around. Close to Oil City bike Trail, Tionesta, Cook Forest and the Allegheny. Lots of night insects to sing you to sleep. didn’t get to explore the property very much as it rained most of the time that we were there. It was nice that the drought was broken. Just bad timing on our part. Matthew was very sweet and has big plans to make his camp even more enjoyable

We enjoyed staying on Mathew’s camping spot. We camped in a camper on a level graveled spot. I loved that we were in a quiet area off the road surrounded by gorgeous trees. Plenty of sunlight surrounded by shade. We enjoyed hiking with our dog during the day and relaxed by the campfire that evening. A perfect way to unwind after a long week.
