Going to a HipCamp for a first stay can be hit-and-miss but this spot was a hit! As I drove in along the long laneway I could clearly see cottages on the adjacent lots but once at the bunkie area there is exceptional privacy. You feel like you're in your own world, and this continues to the shore, where there is a pair of Muskoka chairs to gaze out at the vastness of Lake Huron. There is a good combination of open and sheltered areas, so that regardless of the wind direction/strength there is somewhere nice to sit. The bunkie itself is cozy, functional and clean. It is about as well outfitted as I could possibly imagine--clearly thought and planning exercised by the host. Thanks for sharing your space+place Christina!

The site was just as desxribed except it was much more magical than anticipated
Beautiful view of the night sky and little touches like tiny solar lights in the bunkie and on the trees near the water. After spending a lot of time in campgrounds, this stop was wonderful break.

I was impressed, the place had about everything you need for cooking, then some. Loads of chairs and loungers of various types. The lake is a limestone shelf (Alvar) that drops off very very slowly, you have to go quite far out to get to your waist, but be mindful of the waves, dont turn your back on them as a general rule. The water was clear and cold, but not frigid, the perfect type of cold on a summer day, you can stay in for hours. A general store is up the street about 6 mins for any needs. To be picky, the bunkie only needs one thing, a solar powered roof vent, it trapped a lot of heat during the day. It was hot at night. But this is just a trivial nitpick. I've done a lot of Hipcamps all over North America, this is one of the top 3.
I would like to go back again.

The site was private and peaceful, but the sleeping accommodations could be improved considering the price. We opted to sleep in our tent as the pullout couch was in poor state. We had to rearrange the deck area to do this and it was pretty uncomfortable. A bit discouraging when you pay for sleeping accommodations and can’t use them.
Also recommend water shoes - the swimming area has very slippery rocks upon entering.

We loved the outdoor space, the water was very calming! We enjoyed the extra seating and two separate fire pits. Very dog friendly for off leash, would definitely stay here again!

Spring Bay Bunkie... Lot 20
What a gorgeous site on the northern shore of Lake Huron. The coast is unique and swimming on the shore is excellent. Clean and clear water abounds! The bunkie is designed for practical yet eye-pleasing glamping. Basic needs are met and some extras too but not so many frills that it seems cluttered. Her decor is both streamlined and comfy. The addition of a deck and a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs create great outdoor hangout options. And the picnic table for dining under an umbrella works just fine for outdoor dining. Thanks Tina for a lovely get away!!

This cabin is awesome! We stayed 2 nights and explored the island. We found the cabin and land so charming, with plenty of areas to sit, cooking utensils, and pretty solar lights. We had a fire at the cabin one night and a fire by the water the other. It rained pretty hard at one point and we were very happy to not be in a tent!
