Camping at the 103 Acre woods is part of the Marlborough Forest. It has groomed pathways in the meadow and rustic pathways through the woods for your hiking pleasure. If you are interested in backwoods camping, it's easy to do here, park your car in the driveway, grab your gear, and head to the back forty! If camping is not your thing and you just want some private land for the day, such as a photo shoot, or just wandering around, firepit lunch or firepit dinner, just book a site. If you reserve both sites, the entire land becomes yours for the time you are here. I only list 2 sites for camping so you will have plenty of space and privacy from any other campers. Lots of space to spread out and have your privacy. If you want complete privacy, reserve both sites! For the tenting campsites, I have 2 available. One is in the front 40 near the playstructure and closer to the house. It's called the "Cedars". You can drive directly to your campsite. The other campsite is a short hike into the woods and is just off to the side. It's called the "103 Paces". When staying at the 103 Paces campsite, you can drive through the meadow and park just outside of the woods. From there, there is a lawncart you can use to transport your gear to the campsite. Each campsite has a firepit for your use and is close to a shared composting toilet. If you are staying in an RV, you can park in the driveway and still access all the other parts of the property. Tent campers can select anywhere they want to pitch a tent and enjoy the beauty of the 103 Acre woods. Depending on where you choose to camp, you might be able to drive right up to your site. Firepit and wood available for use providing there is no burn ban. Water from the hose attached to the house is available for use. You are welcome to use the outside outlets to charge your devices. RV Electric hookup can be used for an extra fee. I have a composting toilet in a privacy cabana. There will be sanitizer to sanitize your hands. The composting toilet is a shared facility for both campsites. Comes with toilet paper. If you prefer to have your own composting toilet, you can add that on for an extra when you are booking. It's 10.00 more for your stay. I have a few water jugs to have water at your site if you don't have your own jug. A compost bin is available for food. A trash can is provided for waste. Recycle bins are in use as well for paper and plastic. I have patio table that can be used at your site if it's in the front 40. Back forty, I have a smaller more portable table that can be used. It's not too heavy to port. Firewood is not necessary to bring, there is lots of wood locally here on the property to use, you just have to gather it up yourself. I have a wheelbarrow that can be used to transport it to your site. There are wetlands and forests and meadows. There is very little light pollution here. Come and gaze at the stars If you are lucky, you might get to hear the resident whippoorwill, he is nocturnal. The sky is beautiful at night. Wake up to the sounds of many birds. There is a play structure for kids with 2 slides and a bridge, monkey bars, swings, firepole, and climbing wall. There are many things to find in the back 40. You might find a vintage car bumper, and in the spring if you look really hard, you might come across Lady Slipper orchids. They are stunning in the wild. If you want to trudge through the wetlands, be sure to bring your rubber boots. In the front 40 you can take some fun pictures with a vintage abandoned front end of an Aston Martin truck. The 103 Acre woods is conveniently located 3K from the Rideau River and Canal in Burritt's Rapids. Burritts Rapids has a nice "Tip to Tip" trail you can hike on the island of Burritts Rapids. Also there is the Henry Street Park, which has a small beach on the Rideau River. The Rideau Trail is located nearby as well. There are many entrances to the Rideau Trail just minutes away. Located 10 minutes or so from Merrickville. Great fishing along the Rideal Canal lock system. Merrickville has a small beach on the Rideau River. Merrickville has a wonderful Gelato place "Stella Luna". Get your Gelato and walk back to see the boats in the historic Rideau Canal. Lots of history in Merrickville and Burritt's Rapids. If camping is not your thing and you just want some private land for the day, such as a photo shoot, or just wandering around, firepit lunch or firepit dinner, just book a site. If you reserve both sites, the entire land becomes yours for the time you are here. There are 2 well-behaved chiahuahua's who live on the property. They will see you at the meet and greet. They will for sure welcome you to their yard. Your dog is welcome, just remember to pickup after them.

Camping at the 103 Acre woods is part of the Marlborough Forest. It has groomed pathways in the meadow and rustic pathways through the woods for your hiking pleasure. If you reserve both sites, the entire land becomes yours for the time you are here. It's currently winter here. The snow is here. The conditions are cold and snow on the ground. Plenty for cross country skiing or snowshoeing or just wandering around. The cedars has parking near by. About 20 feet from the firepit. Come for the day and enjoy a fire it or winter camp and stay over night. In the spring Bring your rubber boots! The grass is still brown. Nothing is in bloom. Check back to see how the conditions are if you are booking in April and May. By the end of may I expect conditions to be quite nice. In the spring time The 103 Paces campsite has a spring thaw going on. There are many other places suitable for camping. I only list 2 sites for camping so you will have plenty of space and privacy from any other campers. Lots of space to spread out and have your privacy. If you want complete privacy, reserve both sites! For the tenting campsites, I have 2 available. One is in the front 40 near the play structure and closer to the house. It's called the "Cedars". You can drive directly to your campsite. For the winter the 103 Paces is not available for drive up. You must park in the driveway and hike in. It is much harder to access in the winter. The other campsite is a short hike into the woods and is just off to the side. It's called the "103 Paces". When staying at the 103 Paces campsite, you can drive through the meadow and park just outside of the woods. From there, there is a lawncart you can use to transport your gear to the campsite. Meg’s land is absolutely beautiful. I have stayed at many Hipcamp properties and this is by far my favourite. You are surrounded by natural beauty all around. Meg is an excellent host and was incredibly helpful. From the moment I arrived she made me feel at home. It is easy to tell that she is passionate about her property and loves to share it with fellow nature-lovers. I definitely recommend spending the extra couple of bucks to have the composting toilet; It was very convenient. The location is also very convenient. It allows you to be away from it all, but only 15-20 minutes from anything you need or want. I highly recommend Meg’s 103 acres for your next camping trip to the area. I know I’ll be back!

It is basic place to camp for the night ; next to the host house . It has the basic with electric and compost toilet which was clean . And it was peaceful as I was the only one at the place . That was good for me since I have dogs that like to play around without a leash

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this property with my RV, and it was such a peaceful and refreshing experience. From the moment I arrived, I could feel how quiet and calm the surroundings were, making it the perfect place to unwind and recharge. The site was easy to access with my motorhome, and I felt comfortable and safe the entire time I was there. What I appreciated most was how natural and serene the environment felt. Waking up to the sound of birds and enjoying the stillness of the morning with a cup of coffee right outside my RV made the stay extra special. At night, the stars were bright and clear, reminding me of why camping is so unique compared to staying anywhere else. The property was well-kept and inviting, with plenty of space to relax without feeling crowded. Everything about the stay made me feel at ease, and it really allowed me to enjoy the simple things—fresh air, quiet moments, and a cozy place to park and rest. I will definitely be coming back again in the future. This is a place I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful RV getaway.

103 Acres is a wonderful property and Meg is a great host! Plenty of what you need is provided on site for a great experience. There are lovely meadows and woods to explore, and it's near Marlborough Forest and the Rideau Trail as well. If you need something more "civilized", Burritt's Rapids and Merrickville are nearby. Overall, a great site.

A beautiful space with a kind and welcoming host. Meg has thought of everything and is gracious with her time and information about the area. She was exceptionally helpful to me when I got sick midway through the stay and allowed me to leave my trailer on site until I could come get it. Also, as a dog owner who spends the majority of time at a campsite untangling the dog from whatever she has wrapped her leash around, I have to say what a gift it was to see my dog scampering around Meg's property, zooming around with her sweet little pups! She was in absolute heaven. Many many thanks!

Amazing camp site for families or solo campers. Has everything you need and our host Meg was gracious beyond belief. She took care of everything and gave us suggestions of what to do in the neighbouring towns for fun. Playground on site was awesome, Meg's chihuahuas were awesome and the entire trip was packed with fun and overall a great experience. We'll be returning this summer for sure.

Our host Meg was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly kind, always ready to assist, and responded to every message very quickly. The farm has stunning fields which is perfect for our dog to run. Despite the snowy weather, the provided water, electricity and portable toilet made a comfortable camping experience. We’d love to return for another visit whenever the opportunity arises!

What a wonderful place to camp. The land is beautiful, peaceful, and tranquil. Sitting by the fire looking at the snow dusted trees, with nothing but the sound of the crackling fire. This spot was everything I hoped it would be. Meg, as other reviews also suggested, was an incredible host. From booking she reached out to welcome me, answered all my questions quickly, and even offered to have a fire started for me before I arrived. Upon arrival, she guided me to the spot to park my van, even offered a blanket to keep warm by the fire (which I declined but still deeply appreciated). She was incredibly welcoming, her two pups were adorable and friendly. While I didn’t have time to explore much of the beautiful property as I had to leave early morning (a map and suggested hikes/walks were provided when I arrived), I can’t wait to return and spend more time exploring both in winter as well as this spring/summer.

Amazing place to camp

Gf and dog and I arrived at dark, we where greeted in driveway shown where to park. We loved it immediately, very nice peacefully property, we had place to ourselves had a blast. Views of the stars was breathtaking and Meg was super friendly and helpful met her two little ones cure little dogs. We enjoyed our stay very much would totally recommend this to absolutely anybody who want a tranquil place to go camping.

We just came back from a two night stay at the Cedar and we had such a great experience! Meg is a wonderful host, always so nice and ready to help. Our one night on Meg's property worked out perfectly. We were easily able to pull our 16' trailer into a flat spot and connect to the electrical cable. We were visiting family nearby, getting around was also easy. Unfortunately our planned campfire was pushed off due to a rain storm. When we are back in the area will book again with Meg.

Meg was a welcoming host with the cutest Chihuahuas! The camping spot was perfect, secluded with everything you need. There was ample fire wood, flat ground and a table and chairs. Definitely recommend. Hoping to take the family next time.

Meg was an awesome host. Very helpful and good to chat with while respecting campers privacy. The forest campsite was beautiful and just the privacy and nature I was looking for. Part of the path in the forest heading to the site was a puddle but Meg had made a “bridge” to use. It had been raining a lot in the past couple weeks so not surprised. Would recommend going here and I will go back again.

So.... we got there and decided we were feeling less ambitious about the hike in than when we booked the space. Meg was so flexible and accommodating and graciously welcomed us to the drive-up space. The way the trees are spread around provides some alcoves to have privacy from the house, which was very nice. It was too hot for building fires, but there was a hearty pile of wood available. The trails in the meadow are also lovely, and the Chihuahuas are sweet hearts.

We had a lovely stay at the Cedars. My family of four and 2 small dogs took advantage of the meadows trails that Meg has cleared. It’s beautiful walking amongst the wild flowers. We stayed for one night and had beautiful weather. The campfire area is nestled among the trees and the provided bathroom was so clean and private. Meg is a very welcoming host and we truly enjoyed the beautiful land and warm welcome that she provided.

Had a great time at Meg's land. Fun playground for the kid. Quiet area and plenty of space. Never seen chihuahuas that well trained, they were lovely. Looking forward to rent again in the future :)

We loved camping on Meg’s land, it was the perfect hike in camping site for our tent. Our dog loved meeting the resident chihuahuas and Meg was super thoughtful and helpful. Will be back!

Meg has a very nice property, lots of space. Suited for any campers. The 103 paces offers the most secluded site for staying in a tent. Plenty of wood for a fire. My dogs had a blast running around in and out of the forest, still tired today!

Meg is a wonderful! We had the perfect intro to camping as first-time campers. Meg checked on us often to make sure we were comfortable. We had fantastic conversations with Meg over Tea at our campsite. A list of almost all the lovely things Meg did for us: Helped us fix our tarp that kept sagging in the centre. Checked our tent to make sure we were set up right. Taught us to get a fire going. Surprised us with popcorn and introduced us to the art of cooking popcorn over a campfire. Haul our stuff to the 103 campsites cause our car had low ground clearance. It's an under 3-minute walk from the house, but she saved us multiple trips. Dora and Diamond! Omg, they will keep you company. They are adorable. A perfect clean composting toilet setup. For someone who has never used one, this was perfect. An unlimited supply of firewood at no cost. Hot showers!!! A campsite that is very private yet close to the house. I can keep going, but you get the idea. If you are looking for a place to camp, this review is your sign to hit that reserve button. Thank you, Meg. You are the best!

First and foremost Meg was a wonderful hostess who made us feel both welcome and at home. She also has the cutest pair of Chihuahua siblings who were quite affectionate and entertaining. The campsite was flat grass over ground that readily accepted tent stakes. There's freedom to pitch in shade, sun or a combination. The ground itself is suitable to ride a motorcycle on (with care) and park next to your tent. Meg supplied us with a 5 gallon jug of water, soap, towels and a wash basin. We also had access to a hose at her home. She also brought us a (free) wagonload of firewood and a propane fire starter. Verizon cell service was sketchy at the site. But Meg has shared wi-fi at her house that we connected to and used for wi-fi calling. All in all a wonderful experience. A good simple place to camp in a quiet wooded neighborhood enhanced by a charming hostess. Definitely worth the trip.

An Unforgettable Second Stay

I recently had the pleasure of revisiting The Cedars-Meg L’s Land for a second time, and I am delighted to share my wonderful experience. This camping trip turned out to be even more amazing than the first, leaving me with memories to cherish for a lifetime. Evenings around the campfire were the perfect way to unwind. I enjoyed the simple pleasure of roasting marshmallows under the gloomy but starry sky. I wholeheartedly recommend The Cedars for an exceptional stay that promises relaxation, adventure, and cherished memories with the adorable resident dogs namely Dora & Diamond. I am already eagerly anticipating my next visit! It's an experience that will undoubtedly leave you with cherished memories and a desire to return time and time again.

Meg has a beautiful property and we had a very nice weekend camping on it. There is plenty of shade and sun and it’s a quiet spot to watch the stars at night. Meg is a really genuine person and really made our trip special. She had a fire waiting for us and gave us lots of information about the nature we might see around her property. There are two small dogs on the property that roam and around and say hello. Meg was very accommodating that our dog needed space. Thank you Meg! We had a great time!

Wonderful Camping Experience

Such a special experience for us at 103 Acres Land. I highly recommend this place. It has a very safe and beautiful view. What makes this place beautiful and memorable is the owner of the land. We are first time campers and she made sure we were ok all throughout the stay. She is an awesome host. The two dogs named Dora and Diamond were the highlight of this camping trip. We will definitely comeback! It was worth it and we felt safe all throughout our stay.
