This was a truly exceptional spot with a beautiful view out over the water. On one side was a grassy area and steps leading down to the water's edge; on the other a hidden away picnic table and a firepit with bench and firewood supplied. Blair was welcoming and helpful with suggestions for things to do in the area. Highly, highly recommended.

Blair’s spot is AMAZING!! This was our last camping spot while traveling around and camping on Cape Breton along the Cabot Trail and it was our favorite, hands down!! Blair was so helpful sharing some tips with us on some local spots or easy ways to access things, and the site itself was incredible! A great location for getting to the nearby beaches and beautiful natural views, but it was also so quiet and sp private. We loved the sunny grassy area for relaxing in the afternoon and we also loved watching all of the sea birds and fishing boats through the day. The picnic table was in a cozy spot tucked under beautiful trees with a view of the water and cape across the bay. The way the sunlight hits the cliffs in the late afternoon late across the water was absolutely breathtaking. We even saw a bald eagle! The star gazing was fantastic at night. We could go on and on. We will be back to Cape Breton again hopefully very soon and would definitely love to stay here again!

What a fantastic overnight spot! Lovely view out to the bay from a secluded spot just off a quiet road. Blair has family history in the area and recommended some great local walks. Highly recommended.

Wow!! Le plus spectaculaire site que nous ayons eu!! Directement sur le bord de l'eau avec même une petite plage privée dans la baie😍 Tout était parfait! On était à quelques pas de la belle grande plage d'Ingonish! Et que dire de notre hôte! Blair a été tellement gentil et attentionné. Il a pris le temps de discuter avec nous et nous a ciblé des sentiers et endroits à visiter selon nos intérêts! On s'est senti comme de la famille! Il y avait un joli petit espace pour se faire un feu, mais étant donné la sécheresse, nous n'avons malheureusement pas pu en faire. Nous recommandons à 100%!

Smokey View is in a beautiful spot. We enjoyed local hikes and sights as well as just hanging out at the RV site and walking and swimming at the beach nearby. Once we figured that we were indeed going to be able to fit our 24 ft Class C RV in the site and the slope to the site was actually quite minimal, we settled in comfortably. Blair was very friendly and informative. We really enjoyed time spent just chatting about life and left feeling like we have a new friend.

Blair's spot is perfect and he is a kind and generous host! He has great knowledge of the area, lots of excellent tips for food, trails, and rainy day activities.
Our family with three teenagers loved it there. We walked to the Ingonish Beach, which was a gentle fifteen minutes. We swam in the ocean and then hopped into the freshwater lake right next door. We only spent two nights as we are cramming in as much as we can, but I would have loved to stay for more!

Blair has created a beautiful, private camping spot. It is tucked into a lovely vegetated area surrounded by conifer trees, Aspens (or maybe Birch?) & other various plantings that offered protection from the wind we had the evening we were there. It is directly on the rivers edge, has a grassy area for sitting or playing with your dog, a picnic table out of the sun and a fire pit. Blair is very friendly and offered us all kinds of tips and ideas for not only our stay, but as we travelled about Cape Breton, truly a very special place. We hope to be back!

We had the best three days staying at Blair’s place! Private beach, grassy area, breakfast nook and a fire pit nestled away from the wind. Everything was perfectly thought out, well maintained and the most idyllic getaway. The views were breathtaking, with just a short walk to catch the sunrise in the morning. Blair gave great recommendations for exploring the area, and even spoiled us with local mussels! I couldn’t recommend this campsite more!

What a stunning property! The private beach is UNREAL! We saw a bald eagle fly 10 meters in front of us!
We camped here - hiked Middle Land at Ingonish one day, drove the entire Cabbot Trail another day… and came back to enjoy the peace this property offers. We used the “back entrance” to the National Park using the trail at the end of the block. The site has no bathroom facilities - but we were fine driving the 3 minutes to the visitor center to use the washrooms there.

An incredible location, semi-private and tucked away with a gorgeous view overlooking Ingonish Harbour and access to the water. Perfect for a small RV/van. The site was impeccably maintained, with a picnic table, fire pit and supply of wood. Off grid, but not off the map, just a quick drive from many beautiful beaches and hikes in Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

Blair was an excellent host and her property is beautiful. It's extremely well maintained and you can tell that a lot of care has gone into setting it up as a special spot for campers. There is a boat launch nearby, so if you're a light sleeper, be aware of that, but I wouldn't let it stop me from staying at this property, as it was still a great night's sleep. It was great having a gravel area to park the truck and set up our privacy tent. Overall, a great experience!

We loved our stay here, the views are amazing!! Well thought out space, the gravel camp pad is very easy to level the camper on, also has a grass area for our dog to play - with access down to the water. Blair was very helpful with anything that we needed and had lots of suggestions on things to do and see in the area. We would definitely stay here again.

What a treasure of a site! A beautifully kept and stunning location to park up for a couple of days and just enjoy the scenery, wildlife and local area. The weather wasn’t great but it didn’t matter, as we could simply relax and unwind - we didn’t move the RV from the moment we arrived until we left - just exploring the shoreline and local walks. Blair was really helpful before we arrived in terms of directions and things to do in the area, where to eat etc. we really appreciated the firewood and lighters so we could get enjoy a cosy campfire.

The site was as beautiful if not more beautiful than the pictures I saw. The beach access, and the views were two of my favorite features. Blair also built a nice fire pit and there was wood on site available that was a great touch! Over all an amazing experience, and even better views.

Great RV-spot along the Cabot Trail. At the water, with a wonderful view on the mountain. Perfect and fast communication with the host. Would definitely recommend staying here!

This site is truly fabulous for an ocean lover! I felt like I had a piece of prime real estate on a very private little lot that was directly on the water - I could hear the calming waves all night! I stayed here in my 20 foot camper van, which, I would say, is the absolute maximum length to fit on the flat part of the lot. I found that slowly backing down the drive and then cutting back and forth a few times enabled me to have my van nicely settled on the pad with my slider door facing the ocean. The site was very well maintained with a great picnic table nestled in some trees and a fire pit area.

Quiet and intimate with access to a beach. 30 min. Bike ride to Franey trailhead and less than 10 from ice cream.
We enjoyed every minute staying there.

This location was absolutely epic! Blair was an awesome host and filled us on in on a number of local hikes and private spots - it was absolutely perfect - the site is so clean and with the gravel is absolutely perfect even with any rain - we will DEFINITELY be back! Thanks Blair!
