TreeTop Cabin at Healing Springs
Fun, comfy cabin
Wonderful cabin with a fire pit outside and cows grazing on a nearby pasture. The general store is stocked with everything you might have forgotten, as well as some very pretty local goods like wine bottle wind chimes. Would definitely stay here again.

TreeTop Cabin at Healing Springs
The spring water is delicious and staying in a treetop was exciting. The bathroom is located down the steps from the treehouse and is shared.

Treetop stay
Great place, quiet, clean. I stayed in the Treetop. Perfect for being alone. Comfortable bed.
Tree House Cabin at Healing Springs
Beautiful, yet bad experience
It is a beautiful area, our treehouse was nice inside, and spring water was wonderful. I do have mixed reviews about the stay. Never met host; did encounter several unpleasant employees. Had a bad fall on the property that resulted in a concussion, medical expenses, and loss of work. Informed host when it occurred and was offered no support or concern. The outside area has some safety issues. Unstable, rusting fire chimney. Jagged rocks and protruding rebar along retaining walls. Cracking railing on stairs.
Discrepancies with Hipcamp & host led to overcharges, extra unadvertised fees. Resolved(ish), but still feel as if I was charged far more than advertised on Hipcamp.
Great potential for a nice getaway. Unfortunately this was not my experience.

TreeTop Cabin at Healing Springs
Basically just a bed.
Basically just a bedroom. No electric, water or bathroom. In the treehouse. These were supplied by hosts at the lodge so they were available. Water from the spring was wonderful. Was not the glamping that I expected.

Super Duper!
We had a great relaxing experience! Our camping tree house was very rustic. Was hoping for a bit more private but still very quiet.

Quiet tree house
Very relaxing little treehouse. It was on the edge of the resort but still close to the main action. Everyone was quiet and respectful. We would definitely come back.

Tree House Cabin at Healing Springs
Relaxing in the Rainstorms
It was so cool to have this neat treehouse keeping us DRY as it rained the entire time we visited. (Sadly, It WAS only one night) it was awesome listening to the sound of the rain beating against the metal roof of the treehouse. We even had our two small dogs with us and they seemed to enjoy it as well. Plus they had a nice common/shared area where there was a clean restroom and shower. Plus loads of homemade soaps, lotions and a general store with general stuff. Lol. The healing spring was lovely and the water pure. We will love to come back for a visit.

Booked and immediately tried to cancel. Canceled within ten minutes of booking due to scheduling issues and was not able to get s refund. Did not actually stay here, so I will not comment on the site itself.

Whistle Pig Camping Cabin
What a gem! Starting in the late 19th century, Healing Springs was a destination for prosperous sufferers from all sorts of ailments. The old spring is on the property, a few steps away from the Whistle Pig cabin. There are several roomier historic cabins on the property as well. This cabin is tiny, set on a hill along a stream. Inside is furnished with a comfortable full bed with linens and a quilt, towels, coffee pot and cups, heater, bedside table, and lamp. There are two electoral outlets; plumbing is across the lane in the cabin that houses the office. The bathroom there has toilet, sink, shower, and heater.
The proprietors farm chickens, pigs, and cows. You can buy fresh eggs and farm-grown meat in the office. Handmade soaps and jellies are for sale as well.
It's clear that the current owners love the place and give it their all. I slept great and chatted with a young family at the spring pump before heading out for a good meal in West Jefferson, a nearby historic tourist town. Whistle Pig cabin is a great find. If you're hiking in the area or driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, stay at Whistle Pig cabin for a great night's sleep and a bit of local history.
