Our ancestor Ebenezer Cole, settled in our little corner of Lebanon, NH., in 1847. Eight generations of our family have lived, and farmed here since. Although once almost totally cleared for crops and grazing, most of our land is now devoted to forestry, but some land remains open and devoted to forage crops. We also have a modern hillside maple orchard. Although we no longer actively farm full time, the stewardship of our farm is of upmost importance to our family. We encourage people to visit our property and enjoy it fully. We host a Boy Scout Troop campsite on another part of our property. We are located in the heart of the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Region with countless cultural, and recreational opportunities just minutes away. We hope you will come for a visit and learn to love our farm and community as much as we do. Learn more about this land: Shaded Brookside Glen is a private, stream side, level, pull through site for a small RV, trailer, or tent. This is the private campsite we developed on our farm several years ago for when my wife and I need a little getaway, but don't have the time to travel. Shaded Brookside Glen is a level, mowed lawn surrounded by mature trees and bushes. Dry camping only, but a nice composting outhouse is easily available nearby. Water is available from the year round trout stream, but drinking water must be carried in. Shaded Brookside Glen has a picnic table, a metal fire pit, and limited fire wood is supplied. The drive to the site is across a grassy, mowed, well drained field, but can be effected by long periods of rain.

Shaded Brookside Glen

Great Camping Spot with Pups!

My husband and I and our pups had a great time camping here! The brook and surroundings are so nice and peaceful and it's a great flat spot for bringing a camper. The firepit, picnic table, and composting toilet are all great to have and there was a perfect trail walk for our dogs right down the road. The only downside was that there is a main road close by so you can hear cars/trucks driving by in the distance at busy times of day. Would still recommend!

Shaded Brookside Glen was perfect! Very easy to access yet still felt remote and unplugged. Lovely location next to a stream. Forrest was a clear communicator and his land was clearly well cared for. I would absolutely come again!

Shaded Brookside Glen

Great spot

Everything was as described!! Beautiful spot!! We brought our 3 dogs. They had a blast. I would say it was very tranquil which it would be if we didn’t have a year old dog with us lol. We will definitely be coming back, minus the young pup. He’s just a crazy and with all the things around him. He was on overload.

Shaded Brookside Glen

Shaded private site on the creek!

Forrest’s land was exactly as described - private, clean, convenient, shaded and right on a small stream. The site was very level and fit our 19 foot camper easily. The stream was a perfect place to get wet with our dog and the fire pit was awesome. There was plenty of fire wood and the outhouse was the cleanest we have ever seen. Thank you Forrest, we will be back!

Shaded Brookside Glen

Little slice of heaven

Shaded brookside glen is a beautiful, private, and well equipped camping site. Plenty of space for tents and games. It was the perfect spot to unplug and spend quality time with the family. Highlights included exploring the creek, spooky stories around the campfire, and watching the beautiful firefly display in the meadow at night. We hope to return again.

Shaded Brookside Glen

Forrest and Jean are such informative, welcoming hipcamp hosts, my sister, her pup, and I loved camping on their farm property! Easy directions to follow lead up right to the site, and the chain-link gate was simple to open and close. We tent camped on a very hot May weekend, but the site had a constant southern breeze that was all shaded, so we kept cool- and we waded in the brook next to the camp! Mostly thigh high depth- we average 5'5". We appreciated the amazingly clean and well stocked outhouse, picnic table and firepit, as well as the pay-as-you go firewood which was right on site. Although it was a contactless check-in, my sister and I did venture over to the hosts farmhouse to ask for a few local tips since we had no cell service to text (AT&T) but once we were in the town of Lebanon we had full service, among other amenities. There were lots of ticks, but that's the same as anywhere in the state lately- we just checked ourselves constantly. Also some poison ivy along the water, but it's few and far between.

Perfect Spot!

Forrest and Jeans land was perfect! The stream was great to hear at night when going to bed. Plenty of firewood, and more for sale if needed(honor system), The composting toilet was clean and well stocked. Firepit on property was perfect for our tripod camp grille. Beautiful property. The best of Hipcamp

The setting is really perfect, and Forrest has thought of everything. Absolutely private site with a picnic table, chairs, fire ring, fire wood, kindling, garbage can... and the cleanest "privy" I have ever seen. The brook is delightful, and when we stayed in November the sound of the fast moving brook was great to sleep to. It rained quite a bit one night while we were there, and the drive across the meadow was no problem at all. We were a little confused by the directions to the site... just note that the chained-off entrance to the site is only about 100 feet from the main road intersection, on the left, before a wooden bridge. The farm house is on the right, after the bridge. Perfect.

Brookside camping at its best

A perfect spot for rest and relaxing. We brought our 23 ft RV. Easy in and easy out with a really nice small gravel pad so you can park level. Very nice fire pit, and outhouse. Would available. Our dog loved playing in the brook. Would absolutely recommend.

This is our second time staying at shaded brookside glen and our stay was without a doubt fantastic! Forrest and Jean are both great hosts and keep the property immaculate! We enjoyed our stay very much and it is our favorite location with Hipcamp. We will be back again and recommend to all who are looking for a private and peaceful location!

Gorgeous, clean, campsite!!

Our trip to Shaded Brookside Glen was absolutely incredible! Our favorite camping trip so far in NE. The site couldn’t have been more beautiful and welcoming. It was clean and spacious with gorgeous views of the brook and amazing tree coverage. Picnic table and chair provided by the fire, very comfortable. Forrest was the most welcoming and gracious host. He directed us to an INCREDIBLE swimming hole that made our afternoon. Couldn’t recommend the site more, we will absolutely be back. Only advice, make sure to plan to bring a grill set up if you’d like to cook by the fire! 10/10 an amazing experience!

Peaceful private beautiful

What a great spot! A perfect private camp site in the woods, right next to a beautiful brook. Bonus was the cleanest outhouse I've ever seen. Forrest was a great host, made sure everything was OK, and provided everything needed for a lovely night of camping.

Shaded Brookside Glen is absolutely lovely and an incredible place to spend some time.. A level, shaded spot next to a flowing stream. A fire pit with wood provided and additional available for purchase. And a composting toilet on-site. It is not too far off the highway, and yet feels like the middle of nowhere. Forrest has thought of everything, and the result is a wonderful little oasis. Two thumbs up from the humans and the pup.

Shaded Brookside Glen

A gem to be treasured!

If you are looking for a private place to get away tabs relax, this is your spot! The land itself is a treasure. We stayed during heavy rains. The trees were perfect for setting a tarp by the river side. Because of the much needed rain, the water level was perfect for our German Shepherd to swim in and even though it was chilly and raining , I couldn’t resist going in for a dip myself! We were so comfortable in our fort, we barely left the property! AND the outhouse was a luxurious as self-composting toilets can be! Clean, and spacious, with windows so you don’t feel like your in a box. Five stars, really! Forrest was very helpful with providing recommendations for the area, answering any of our questions and was available if we needed (though we didn’t need anything, the camp site had everything we needed). He did respect our privacy and only popped in (with prior notice) once when we first arrived and when we were on our way out. We hope to return again soon.

Tranquil evening brookside

Very tranquil site that's well maintained, Babbling brook (weather dependent) adds a nice touch. Top notch outhouse and firewood for purchase onsite adds convenience. Only drawback is daytime road noise but it quiets in the evening allowing for very relaxing sleep. Site was perfect for rooftop tent use.

Lovely site by a bubbling stream

I was only able to stay for one night, but I would definitely come back. It was a beautiful site with a bubbling brook, and a great fire pit. I was treated to an amazing firefly display when darkness fell. Forrest was a great host, checking in several times before I arrived to make sure I knew how to find the site which was a bit off the beaten path. Thanks for a great experience!

Very nice site. Level pad for camper, picnic table, fire pit and very clean outhouse along a beautiful stream. Very private, nicely shaded and hardly any bugs. Forest stopped by and was very friendly and made sure we were all set and gave us places to walk the dogs. We will return.

Forest was a great host and the site was absolutely beautiful! Just close enough to go out and get things in town if needed, but very private and peaceful. The site was very well maintained and plenty of firewood was provided to us during our stay. I will definitely be coming back to this location soon!

A Must! Exceptional camp site!

I loved my experience at Shaded Brookside Glen. This site is especially beautiful and private, and being waterfront along the babbling trout stream was beyond fantastic - very peaceful and relaxing. A great composting outhouse and limited fire wood is also provided. There is the ability to purchase additional firewood at the camp site if you'd like so no need to haul wood in your vehicle. The host Forrest is very kind. I feel this camp site is exceptional and a rare find. Looking forward to camping here again soon!
