Nice private little spot. Host gave good instructions on how to get there and the property was great if you want a minimal campsite + a fire pit.

Nice little area hidden away to camp in and close to Torch Lake. Some of the markers are falling off the trees but could still find the path to the fire pit. The map the owner sent helped tremendously!

What a beautiful, quiet and rustic camping spot. When our camping plans changed last minute due to a campground closure, we quickly went looking for plan B. We stumbled upon this site on Hipcamp. Highly recommend if you like a quiet site away from other campers. Every once in a while you may hear noise come from surrounding properties, but it wasn’t a bother at all. The road nearby was quiet even on a holiday weekend. There are wonderful opportunities in the area for hiking, fishing, ATV, wineries, breweries and so much more. Our dogs really enjoyed the big site off leash. The one thing I would caution is that the listing says tent or RV site. This would make an amazing tent camping spot. Our camper trailer is 24 ft and I honestly do not know how we turned it around. I would not recommend bringing any camper trailers bigger than like 15 ft. A smaller tear drop or pop up would be fine. Over all we had a great time and when we experienced a sudden truck problem, the hosts got us connected with a neighbor mechanic who was able to fix us up on Memorial Day so we could get home safe.

We were able to get into the camp site with lots of shade. We had a great time setting up tents for 7 people and hanging around the campfire in between torch lake days!
The lake is only 10 minutes away and there is a Dollar General 3 minutes down the road for emergency needs. The camp site was spacious and provided much nature for any woods loving folks! Highly recommend and would choose again for future Torch lake weekends

Great tent site. Convenient picnic tables, bench, privy and access. The first night, the frogs and dogs barking kept me awake. Second night was better!

Overall, it was great space & very private! The one thing I will say, is it was more overgrown than what was shown in the pictures. On the trail going to the campfire, there was a big tree that fell on the path. I just think it could have been cleaned up a little in that sense. I think the best time to go would be in the fall so that wouldn’t be much of a problem.

Great spot to have a secluded stay in the woods without being too far away from the nearby attractions like Torch Lake and Traverse City. There is very little traffic that goes past, and very little noise overall other than the neighbor's rooster.

Great place to camp! Large lot with a lot of room. We had two dogs with us that had a great time running around the property.
There was a very loud rooster nearby that woke us up every morning around 5am but outside of that it was perfect!

This is a nice, private spot. Perfect for tent and van camping. There is spot for parking and then you walk a little bit into the trees where there is a big fire pit and area to set up tents. We have a travel trailer and it fit in the parking area. I would not recommend it for travel trailers if you are not comfortable with backing it up or down a decent hill with a curve. There is not a place to turn around. This spot is close to Torch Lake and about 25-30 minutes from Traverse City. Would stay here again.

Rustic wooded camping for those who need to get away. This camp is mainly setup for tent camping with more privacy deeper in the woods, but can fit any size RV! However, if bringing a camper, you should be comfortable backing up, as there is no turnaround and you have to back out of the site. Wasn't an issue for us in our 24ft RV. Camping was peaceful and quiet, close to Traverse City for day trips and supplies. Great spot to enjoy nature for a weekend.

This is a good place to stay if you have mulitple people camping. We had 10 people camp on this property...3 campers and 2 tents. We were able to ride side by sides from the property and hit trail heads in Kalakaska. We also enjoyed Torch Lake by kayaking, hanging out on the sandbar, and swimming. It was a great tims with all of our family over 4th of July!
