Llama Meadows Farm is a sixteen acre organic fruit and vegetable farm. Located in Beautiful Benzie Country, in Northwestern Lower Michigan. We are one mile south of Crystal Lake and six miles east of Lake Michigan. Our-house is super insulated and passive solar. We had llamas for their wool and manure. We retired from raising llamas, we had 12 they got old and moved on. We have around 50 fruit trees. The fruit we grow includes apples, pears, figs and paw paws. We also grow grapes, and kiwis, we also put in filberts, walnuts and pecans. We have a beautiful labyrinth peace garden. We don't want barbecue pits on the ground it burns the grass Please check Extras for Pet fees, Campfire Wood and Electric.

Come Pitch your tent in our Llovely Meadows Campgrounds here at Llama Meadows Farm 💖  We welcome all who wish to find the nurturing peace and solitude of nature at Our Peaceful Organic Retired Llama Farm, we no longer have llamas. We truly enjoyed raising Llamas for 24 years, our oldest one live to be 25 years and 10 days old here in Beautful Benzie County. We have 4 tent Campsites 🏕 Campsites 1, 2 and 3 are adjacent to each other campsite # 4 is by itself farther down.  This site (#4) is a bit farther down and has its own large clothesline to use but you still have access to electricity to charge a phone or blow up an air Mattress. There is a instant hot water kettle for tea, coffee or soup. ⚡️ If you want to plug in an extension cord, you will need to add on Electric in our Extras section.  In these Covid Times we are Remembering Social Distancing and keeping it safe for everyone, by hand washing and keeping clean and tidy. We have 4 Tent Campsites. As mentioned, a few are adjacent to each other and one site is on its own just a little further away from the Communal Campfire Pit and Outhouse, Clothes Line, Hand Washing Station and Campfire 🔥 that has a Grate Grill to cook on (bring wood or buy some of ours) and a 6 ft table to prepare your food on. We have a Really Nice Large Enclosed Propane Heated Outdoor Shower 150ish ft from the Campfire. All Tent Camp sites have its own picnic table, bench and a 5 gal water container filled with our Wonderful Well Water. Our intertwining Nature Trails in our Large Field next to the Campgrounds have been very popular with our Campers. We Welcome our Campers to walk Our Labyrinth Peace Garden and to stroll though our flower and vegetable gardens and meadows that offers space to reconnect with nature.   Only a few miles from Crystal Lake, 8 Miles to Lake Michigan (Frankfort Beach)  and 30 minutes to Sleeping Bear Dunes this amazing location is a picture perfect snap shot out of ” Organic Living”.  We have an out house, outdoor shower and electricity We are a peace farm and we live a laid back life style; we don't mind if you have a social drink or two, but absolutely do not tolarate loud and drunkin behavior, no partying please.  There is a 11 pm quiet time, no noise curfew. Purple Palace Tiny Tree House

Before You book reading this is mandatory. Newly Renovated and Insulated The Campground is 250 ft away from the Treehouse with intertwining art trails and The Artisy Outhouse has a pit toilet, with peat moss to use to cover solids and baking soda to sprinkle in to help with oder, there is also an essential oil defuser to add a flowery essence. The Campfire has a Grate Grill and a wire brush for you to clean after each use, when cooking your Food on it. There is a 6 ft table to use for preparing your food on. We have a large Outdoor Shower with Hot Water and five hooks behind the door for your clothes, towels and and a mirror. The treehouse is 8 x 8 ( tiny ) cute comfortable and cosy. Our Guests enjoy sleeping in the full size bed and waking up with the sound of bird songs. The north and south windows open and are screened in. The south window looks out to the flower and vegtable gardens and we welcome our guests to stroll through them at their leisure. We also have a Labyrinth Peace Garden and at the entry of the labrynth is a info box to read about it and flat rocks and markers to write a positive affirmation or art work that you can place in one of the 7 flower beds as you walk with your intention and prayer along the way. The Purple Palace Tiny Treehouse is much more then a full size comfy bed. Marty built a beautiful sturdy staircase with 13 steps leading up to the treehouse that is built in two Blue Spruce trees and it moves and sways with the trees in the wind and the breeze. The Treehouse can squeaks and creak from branches moving with the wind which is common. In the summer of 2023 we renovated the treehouse. WE took every thing out, added 3.5 inches of insulation, wall board that we stained funky purple an added a vinyl flooring. Moved everything back in, hung tapestries. and then we added glow in the dark stars. Nothing like sleeping under the Stars. Marty built a lovely incredible staircase to the Purple Palace Tiny Treehouse, so we have been allowing ONE well behaved small or medium size dog for a extra fee of $10.00 a night pet fee that you are responsible to clean up after your dog does it's job after each time using doggie bags. It has been working out great.There is a purple trash can on the deck under the treehouse besides a glider bench, clothes line and a purple hammock, there is a purple picnic table near to eat on. The Treehouse is super comfortable cozy and cute though It is teeny tiny 8 x 8 and the full size bed takes up most of the room. Because it's up in the trees you hear birds and other animals out in the woods. Also because it's in the trees, there are different kind of bugs that that could sneak in like tiny black beetles, flies, crickets, mosquitoes, spiders, monarch butterflies, ladybugs, fireflies and other insects around that is possible for any of them to sneak in. There are fly swatters to use if you need one. The Treehouse is a Glamping experience and a huge upgrade from tent camping. with lights, a small fan or heater (only to be used when you are in the treehouse) with a instant teapot, cups a tea and a small table for your stuff and storage under the bed. Betty and her husband were very friendly. He met us on arrival to show us to our site and even lent us his very bright flashlight since we were setting up in the dark. Then chatted with us the next night around the camp fire. They have an adorable dog that runs around the property mostly keeping to herself but will gladly accept pets and belly rubs. One thing to note is that 1-3 tent sites are right next to each other and the communal fire pit is nice but if there is anyone else in those sites be prepared to make friends.

We loved camping on Betty’s land! Betty was so nice and provided a wide range of accommodations that we didn’t even know that we needed (a shower, dishwashing station, etc.). Betty even came around with fresh fruit that she had just picked to share with us all! It was clear that Betty valued community as she created opportunities for us to have community campfires where we could meet everyone— the hiking recommendations were wonderful! We hope to visit again soon, we had such a great time.

Great Hipcamp with lovely hosts. Picturesque farm that's close to trails, water activities, restaurants, breweries, and a coffee shop. Betty provided great recommendations in the area, and brought us fresh pears picked from their orchard. We loved the communal firepit!

So peaceful - Betty was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area- Her recommendations for restaurants and coffee houses were spot on. We had electric hook up - communal fire pit in evening ensured a community spirit but there was no obligation to to go. They are under selling their ‘outdoor shower’ was inside and worked very well. All in all a very peaceful 3 days spent there - Would thoroughly recommend but book early word gets around ⭐️

Great low key location with easy access to restaurants, stores, and sleeping bear dunes.. We highly recommend and would stay again. Betty and Marty are gracious and knowledgeable hosts. We had our three younger kids and they had a great time running around the land. Really appreciate the electric hook up and water on our site, available shower, with communal fire pit and dish washing station to get to know other campers.

the true spirit of hipcamp resides within betty and marty. the location is perfect, centrally located to be close to beaches, restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream, and more. yet their spacious property is tucked away so you feel like you're in your own private camp. the hosts were amazing, giving us tours of their gardens and walking paths, with a special tour of their son's amazing art installation. we enjoyed our stay and will for sure be back on future visits!

This was my second time staying at LLama Meadows campground. This time it was me and my two young sons. The campground is conveniently located just a few minutes from Frankfort, Crystal Lake/Beulah, and Honor. It was quiet, clean, and had plenty of space for us to spread out and enjoy. The hosts were kind and helpful and the amenities were as-advertised.

Me and my friends loved it! Booked two sites and got to move the picnic tables together so we could all hang out! The amenities are great! The community around the campfire most nights was really fun! The hosts are so friendly and helpful! Gave lots of recommendations for what we could do each evening! Lots going on in the area! Very short distance to benzonia and a nice grocery store! Mini golf, pizza, coffee shop, gas station. It’s all there! Easy drive to Frankfort and Beulah. Did some morning and night swims in crystal lake which was amazing! A really perfect place to stay if you are looking for an affordable place to camp and hangout or explore the area!

We loved it here! It was a beautiful, conveniently located place! Betty Ann was so sweet, welcoming and helpful, showing us around! They had everything you would need while camping, cloths line, outhouse, outdoor shower with hot water! Water jugs, wood, electricity, a kettle and toaster, some short walking trails around the property and a beautiful campfire ring that everyone could enjoy with lots of seating and a grate for cooking! Me and my friends loved the place and would definitely go back!

What a treasure. Betty and Marty are really lovely humans - welcoming. warm and caring - and their camp is incredible! Personal tours of the grounds, farm, Marley’s cool clubhouse and really great conversation. Plus perfect recommendations for all we wanted to do nearby - which there is a lot available with the overall wonderful location, if you want to leave camp at all. A peaceful vibe and great space to connect with the earth. One of the coolest hip camps we’ve been to. See you soon Betty, Marty, Marley and Jazzy Bear!

I loved camping on Betty’s land. Everything was nice (the fields, the garden, little walk paths). It was a full camp site and the spaces in between was good enough to give us space from everyone. Overall great experience! Betty made us feel welcomed!

The pasture area that we camped in was beautiful. Star gazing is definitely easy here and the sites are spacious and well marked. The hosts were a delight and went above and beyond to make sure we didn’t need anything. There is a community fire pit that we enjoyed sitting around and hearing stories from our hosts.

Camping at Lovely Llama Meadows

Betty and Marty are so kind and thoughtful when it comes to their guests. Upon our arrival, we were kindly greeted by Betty and Jazzy. Betty showed us around the campsite and recommended a few spots around town that we could visit. We spent time meeting folks around the campfire and even enjoyed watching fireworks and eating popcorn with Betty, Marty, and friends. The campsite is located in a wonderful location - ~ 20 minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, ~10 minutes from swimming areas, and ~20 minutes from the cute town of Frankfort. We were treated with kindness and respect, the campsite was comfortable and shaded, and amenities such as bathroom and shower were clean and lovely. It was really thoughtful that Betty provided a water canteen at each campsite, that she would gladly refill when necessary. We spent 3 nights here and are looking forward to the next time we return to Lovely Llama Meadows!

Betty and Marty are outstanding hosts. They take pride in creating an inviting atmosphere for their guests. The campsites are spacious, and well appointed. The fire pit, and outdoor shower are both excellent. The combination of great hosts and amenities make a stay here very memorable! My family had a wonderful peace farm vacation!

Another great stay at Llama Meadows! We love Betty's "no aggressive dogs" policy and that she screens out potential aggressive dogs when approving campers. This allows us to peacefully camp with our gentle golden retriever without fear of a dog problem.

Peaceful and Serene!

RV Journey RV/Trailer/Camper Van
Betty & Marty have the nicest little slice of paradise in Northern Michigan. If you are looking for someplace peacefully bucolic with mega positive vibes, this is it! We traveled with our 25' hybrid trailer and kids ranging from baby to teenager and everyone loved everything about Llovely Llama Meadows! There was a ton of space for our camper and family to unwind and relax. Betty and Marty take pride in the property and every detail is thought of. The hot water on demand shower was very much appreciated. The outhouse was very clean and easy to access. To describe the layout: the hipcamp sites are basically situated in a meadow with a small woody ravine going through it separating the RV electric sites (journey and caravan) and the tent sites. The tent sites are close to the fire pit/ring and outhouse area The RV sites are a <1 minute walk around on the other side of the woods/ravine. I also appreciate that they screen campers and don't have a bunch of loud party animals. It feels totally safe and calm and I am sure they enforce quiet hours if there is ever an issue. Their property is really close to a lot of nice places in the area. It was an easy drive into Sleeping Bear and Traverse City, although we really liked the smaller towns that are closer by, because SB and TC are really busy. My only regret is only staying 3 nights. We could easily stay here a week or longer and really enjoy ourselves! Can't wait to come back. Just book it!! You will be glad you did :-)

We loved staying here! Betty is incredibly friendly and caring. There was clear communication about our stay and we were greeted upon arrival. Plenty of tables and chairs around the community fire.

Safe, lovely, and central
20 ft pop-up camper ·
RV Caravan RV/Trailer/Camper Van
Llama camp is just so dreamy and sweet. This was our second time back and we intend to make it n annual trip. The grounds are gorgeous, the facilities are terrific (rustic but all we need) and the trails winding through the property are just so special. For our pop up, the space was flat, easy to pull into, electric hookup was easy and water was flowing. Also- the location can’t be beat. From the campground there are many gorgeous beaches, wineries, breweries, towns, restaurants, galleries, minigolf, ice cream shops and anything you could possibly want. It’s so central. Betty and Marty are fabulous hosts and just make you feel so warm and welcome. It’s safe, open, accepting, and just full of friendliness and love. We’ve met great people during both of our stays. I highly highly recommend Llovely Meadows. Just don’t take our spot next year!

Glamping in a purple treehouse!

Betty is a fabulous host who takes alot of pride in her property and is thorough with making sure her guests enjoy their experience. Plenty of fresh well water to drink, handwashing stations, very clean and creatively decorated. Excellent recommendations for restaurants in the area or plenty of utensils onsite to cook your own. Plenty of area to go for walks and I love their friendly dog who came with! Fresh organic produce grown on site.

Positive: Campsite was large, with picnic table & water cooler. Trails were nice to walk on. Negative: 2nd night neighbors next to us were drinking/loud until 1:30 am. We got up @ 7 am, packed & left. We are very silly& funny people and were kidding with each other as we packed. (Quiet time - 11 pm to 7 am). I complained about noise and much later was accused via text of fighting with my partner while packing up. Also accused of having a mean dog because she barked 2 times in am. (we put her in vehicle after 2nd bark and she was fine). Didn’t seem to matter that I was kept awake for 2 & 1/2 hours after quiet time the night before☹️ I would suggest monitoring camp more during the late evening and possibly giving warning of upcoming quiet times to those who are loud.

This campsite is quiet and private, where we stayed for two nights. On the first night, we enjoyed the bright night sky, with the Milky Way and a full dome of stars, simply sitting, gazing, and reflecting. Around midnight, we were slightly startled by the howling of a group of coyotes, but felt safe knowing the host had assured us they would stay away from the riven. The second night was cooler and a bit damp, but the sky remained clear, and the sunset was beautiful. It’s such a nice place, though we regret not joining the big campfire that most campers gathered around that night.

Purple Palace Tiny Tree House
My partner and I enjoyed our time in the tree house and on the property! The hosts are very involved and always around, we enjoyed the conversation and community aspect. The property and garden areas were truly beautiful. The stargazing is such a unique experience, with very limited light pollution, all of the constellations are clearly defined. There was so many thoughtful details throughout our stay- including extra bedding, a space heater for the cold nights, she even put some of our favorite teas in the tree house for us to enjoy during our stay. These hosts truly went above and beyond! Quiet hours are strictly enforced as the campsites, campfire and tree house are very close to Betty and Marty’s house.
