Hidden Meadow

Jeannie & I loved Phil & Stormy's Place. It was quiet this time of year, and we were lucky to be the only folks at their Camp. They definitely had made it their own, and have great amenities. Firewood & Firepit, 30 amp service, a water hose , picnic table & dry kindling.. 2 Porta Potties on site, and a RV cleanout. Great Wooden games around the site for folks enjoyment. Phil is a world renown Game maker who makes Games and interesting items, which he makes in his shop on site. Sends it all around the world. Besides meeting Phil and Chit chatting, because we are both Hip Camp Hosts, Phil gave us a tour of his Shop and woodworking area. Pretty impressive. He was a great host, and is Passionate about Kubb, a Yard game that was originally played overseas, but because of Phi, brought the game to the US. He actually has his own playing field. We plan on visiting again, as we loved the vibe

Quiet, Well-kept, thoughtful.

Well-kept, even grounds tucked in a hidden meadow. More space between rental spaces than an RV park. Owner leaves out a box of kindling for the fire. Will definitely make this a repeat spot on trips to Petoskey and the UP.

He's thought of everything!

Phil's done a fabulous job of setting his site up. The amenities were easy to find and hook up to. It was wonderful to have wood, and fire starter available at the site. The yard games looked interesting, but we didn't have a chance to try them out. I really liked the laminated information sheets. The list of things to do in the area was a lot longer than I thought it would be. Hopefully, we'll have a chance to check out a few of those ideas next time we're there. All around, it was a wonderful experience!

A great small campground in a great location for a Basecamp to explore northern Michigan from. The owner has put a lot of love into the property. He quickly responds to messages as well.

Phil has a very nice little setup on his property. The sites are nice and the shower is nice. I highly recommend staying there if you don't like high volume campgrounds and just want peace and quiet.

The campsites were nicely laid out and all of the amenities were a nice addition to our stay. It was very peaceful and there was plenty of firewood for us to use.

Awesome, peaceful nights sleep!

Hidden Meadow is an awesome property and Phil is a great host. He was incredibly responsive to a couple questions I had prior to booking which enabled me to book Rustic Campsite #4 with confidence it would meet my needs. I’m super stoked I stayed here! Rustic Campsite #4 is perfect if you’re looking for peace and quiet! I felt as though there were no other campers and yet the property was full. There was a table with umbrella, fire pit amd wood and a trash can all onsite. There’s also a really nice “outhouse” with a foot pump for water within 50 feet. The Stargazer trail is awesome too! I can say with 100% certainty my next time in the area I will stay again.

It was a cute little spot. Sites 1-3 are right together and would be perfect for a group! You’d be right together and the kids could play all around you. They had campfire wood at the spots and starting materials next to square picnic tables with umbrellas in them. The shower is an outdoor one and they had a porta potty for a bathroom but it was very clean. I would go there again. Our motorhome fit very nicely there.

Phil thought of everything to make our camping experience wonderful! He even stopped by to see if we needed anything. We enjoyed chatting with him, and staying on his beautiful property. Would definitely stay again.

The property is secluded. Very quiet. Even with heavy rains for two days, drainage was adequate. Game options provided are family friendly. Nice place overall. I would stay again. Might be nice for winter camping if available.

Great place to stay!

Phil has a great setup. We booked late and didn't have any options for state parks. The campsite was busy, but there is plenty of room to spread out. The camp shower was awesome. The porta john was a porta john. The meadow was so cool. We enjoyed watching the stars from it and having Phil teach us Kubb strategy! We loved learning about Molkky/Finska and left with our own set. Phil was a great host. Would love to make our way over there again.

We loved camping on Phil’s land. It was very nice, private and lots of room. He definitely payed attention to details. There was plenty of firewood, list with phone numbers and addresses of surrounding attractions. Will definitely stay there again!

We enjoyed our stay here. Well-marked property, with lots of games and places to hang out. The property consists of three sites around the edge of a meadow. The ground is relatively level grass but you may need leveling blocks depending on your rig. You’ll see your neighbors but you’re far enough away to keep to yourself if desired. But why would you want to when cornhole is waiting for everyone to join in? We look forward to coming back.

The owner was quick to respond and offered up a different sure when e arrived if the one we had didn't work out. We ended up staying with site #3. It's in a small clearing with 2 other sites but still felt private enough. If you don't need electricity and want privacy, site #4 looked cool. Lots of firewood provided. The outdoor shower was perfect! And we loved all the games available, great touch. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!!

Nice shady spot

We had a great stop here at site 1. It’s very quiet and peaceful. Lots of pretty flowers. Connections worked well and having the dump out was very convenient. It’s a little tight maneuvering for our 40’ fifth wheel but we got around ok. We saw turkey! 3 hens and a dozen babies. Very convenient to Indian River, Alanson, and Petoskey.

Great for camping newbies!

Each site had water and electric hook up. Trash can, wood, and a fire starting kit available. Enoughr space between each sit. Beautiful star gazing area. Close enough to town but far enpugh away to actually get that camping feel. I had never built a fire before so i was happy to have the fire starting kit there to make things so much easier! The show was nicely built. I wkll say let the eater run for about 10 minutes so you dont burn yourself. There is a sign in the shower that does state this. This is sich a wonderful camp site.

The site worked well for my campervan. Nice 4-sided picnic table with umbrella. Firewood and kindling at the site. Trash can and water hose at the site also. Shower was a welcome addition—my first open air shower with canopy of maple trees to view overhead! If you are looking for a more secluded site, this one is more in an open meadow. It would be a really great site for a group if you booked the three sites there in the meadow.

Absolutely love staying in this site! The place is well maintained, nice flat grassy area for camping, with plenty of shade. Phil is a super nice guy and he was very prompt to help us with whatever we needed. The outdoor shower was upgraded this year and it's the best one I've found at a campsite so far! Would definitely recommend booking a site with Phil!

Quiet Stargazers Paradise

We loved camping here, the shower was warm, the bathrooms were clean, and there were even sinks to wash hands. The firewood and kindling were a nice addition. Stargazing was incredible. We never saw any chickens or mosquitos. We plan to come back!

Phil’s camp was a very pleasant experience. It was much better than I anticipated. It was quiet with plenty of privacy and space between campsites. I tent camp at site number four and will definitely stay here again.

Lovely property, nice a quiet!

We enjoyed our time at this spot, in campsite #4. The sun was perfect while there; this spot allowed our solar to charge our batteries. Our favorite part was walking the trails. We saw deer, an eagle, snakes, toads, all great for our young son, who loves animals. Shower was easy to use, warm water after a min or so. There was a new moon during our stay, so an awesome dark sky to watch the meteor showers overhead :)
