We love animals, plants, art, and outdoor recreation and love sharing these things with people! We found the perfect little plot for all of these things we love. Nature, art, animals, and lots of space! The hilly, lush land is also known as the Bohemie Alps and it's quite a beautiful area tucked away in Iowa. Visit with the llamas, goats, peacocks, potbelly pigs and the horses and hike around the property or stay in for a quiet stay with a good book and enjoy all the sights and sounds. Lots of extra 'add ons' to enhance the experience! Semi wooded property with hiking trails, hammocks, aerial silks, campfire pit. 5 mi away is Otter Creek Lake, a recreational park for fishing, kayaking, swimming, etc. We have 2 kayaks available. So much to do! Also perfect to just relax, meditate, yoga, sleep...

Retreat Cabin on the Goat Farm
Incredibly Zen Experience, 5 Stars!
My husband and I stayed at Windy Goat Acres for my birthday and we had an amazing experience! Jim and Jess are great hosts and we loved hearing about all the eco friendly things they do to keep the farm going. We absolutely adored Banana, and we already miss him! I highly recommend Windy Goat Acres! We didn't want to leave and we can't wait to come back!

Lady Morphia's Castle on the Hill
Cozy lofted cabin
The animals were so fun to visit, peacocks, goats, pigs, sheep, llamas, horses, ducks so fun. Our city dogs weren’t sure what to make of them. Lady Morphia was clean quiet and comfortable. The sleeping area is in a loft which I had not realized when booking. The staircase is sturdy but a bit steep and scared our older dog enough she had to be carried down. So a yurt would probably be a better choice if you have any mobility issues.

Queen Armadillo's Yurt
Jessica was prompt in responding to my questions regarding parking and such. Her farm is lovely and I felt that she gave an adequate description regarding the yurt. She wasn't kidding when she named her farm "Windy" Goat Acres! While the overnight temperature dropped into the low 30s while I visited, I was never cold! The heater worked great and the natural light felt cozy.

Retreat Cabin on the Goat Farm
we love windy goat acres! the retreat cabin is so cozy and it's fun to be by the animals. we enjoyed the dvd player and made grilled cheeses on the hot plate. we had a great visit this time and loved the treat cups. it was so inviting when we showed up friday night and there was a fire in the fire pit, and the light chatter of the guests as the sun went down. can't wait to return

Lady Morphia's Castle on the Hill
Second stay!
There was a good amount of snow a couple of days before our trip and the main driveway is long and steep, but when we arrived it was clear of snow and ice. I really appreciate that pets are allowed, it was much easier to plan to bring our dogs with us than to arrange for their care at home. It was cold and muddy, and apparently my dogs would not make good farm dogs but it was still a ton of fun to get out of the house and spend some time together. I will definitely be back when the weather is better, and I’ll also probably be back when it’s not. I was a little too daring with the car when we were packing up to leave and got it stuck but I texted the host and they came right away to help. Not that I suggest getting stuck, please don’t! But the hosts are on the property and are very responsive and helpful and I couldn’t recommend staying here more!
