Yurtin' with animals!

We had a great weekend at the Yurt! Which is quite nice inside and much bigger than expected. The bed was very comfortable. While it was a bit warm in the afternoon there's a great cross breeze with the windows/door open and it perfectly cool at night. The fire pit was perfect at night. They do have a flush toilet which is always appreciated. Also a small building with a table/chairs and a metal prep table which would make a great kitchen (we didn't use it). We got to see plenty of goats and cows, plus the super sweet farm dogs and a few visits from Percival (one of the farm cats - very friendly, just wanted pets and snuggles). River access to us did not seem as obvious. We may have missed it or not gone far enough, but one of us became a mosquito snack so we opted to just enjoy the campsite! Lot's of great things to do in Apple Hill and a good brewery not too far.

We wanted to camp and had a single night away from the kids. Staying in the yurt was just what we needed! We loved being able to show up and enjoy our time in nature. It was so serene. Directions were very clear. The yurt was beautiful and very neat. After only being there a couple hours, my husband was already make plans to return. Thank you for hosting us Stephanie!

Glamping at the yurt at River Oaks Camp was a peaceful getaway on a lovely property with impromptu visits by deer, turkeys, woodpeckers and toads. Wonderful hosts, friendly dogs, and engaging farm animals, and the river would have been terrific on a hot summer day. Apple Hill farms and businesses are a short drive away. Recommended.

magical spot. I will definitely be back. The New flushing toliet was a major glamping perk. Id say bring ear plugs just in case of barking dogs at night as sound carries in a valley (this is typical for a farm/neighbors to have working dogs staying alert for wildlife etc). Hosts were so dang sweet and the River was beyond perfect for a full day of swimming and relaxation. The steep hike back up to the yurt from the river was quick but could be a challenge for those with mobility issues etc. so pack light to the river. Don't miss this well cared for Oasis!

The hosts were very accommodating for my stay and helpful, they were available to also kindly assist with a few things during my time there. The spot is unbelievably serene and a perfect opportunity to unplug and reset. I hope to go back!

So good! We booked River Yurt 1 for our anniversary night and it was perfect! When we arrived we walked down to the river and swam. We had a dinner in Placerville, then lit a fire in the fire pit to complete our perfect evening. And though it was a hot day the evening was perfectly cool and we slept so well! Totally recommend!!!

Peaceful Yurt on a Sweet Farm

Beautiful, peaceful retreat in a lovely yurt surrounded by sweet, friendly farm animals. We had an amazing weekend staying at Stephanie & Adam's property, they are incredible hosts! Breakfast is a MUST (Stephanie, you should sell your sourdough, soooo good!) We loved kayaking and exploring the river, there is NO ONE around! We are grateful to the hosts for making it such a nice experience. Highly recommend for a couple weekend getaway!

Stephanie and her family have a beautiful large property close to the bay area. The yurt is big, they have cute friendly farm animals including so many cats. I ordered breakfast, it was made with eggs laid by their own chickens.

We had a fantastic weekend at Stephanie's yurt! The yurt itself is awesome and offers a unique adventure—perfect for anyone looking to experience something a bit different. Stephanie and her family were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. My husband had a great time fishing at the nearby river, which was a wonderful addition to our stay. Plus, all the animals on the farm are absolutely adorable! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Highly recommend!

Staying at the yurt was the perfect romantic getaway! The property and yurt was beautiful, there was clean water and a toilet next to the yurt, soft clean sheets, a bonfire pit and plenty of privacy. Benny was the absolute best boy! being surrounded by the other farm animals was beautiful and serene. The river was a short walk down the hill and the water was perfect for swimming in. Both Stephanie and her husband were very kind and friendly. Would definitely love to be back here.

The river access is amazing & so was the breakfast. It was over 100 degrees when I stayed. The air conditioning had been going but when I got there a window was completely open so it was still extremely hot & didn’t cool down until that night. I pulled up a chair & sat in front of the AC for an hour. The “toilet” is actually just a bucket with a trash bag in it. The farm animals are cute but the dogs kept me up all night barking. I didn’t realize the animals stayed right outside the yurt & you could hear them at all hours. I messaged the hosts about the dogs keeping me up (they barked until 2 am) but they didn’t do anything about it. I loved the river & the bed was cozy but felt like I paid too much money to be uncomfortable & not sleep.

I had a wonderful experience at the yurt! With 100+ degree temps during my stay, having in unit AC was pretty clutch - I was plenty comfortable at night / when I woke up. Great fire pit with plenty of wood for a night time fire (stars were incredible). I ended up getting a massage from Stephanie that was INCREDIBLE; the skillet breakfast was also A+. Overall, a great stay

This was a real treat! Very quiet and the river access is absolutely magical. The river is on private land and was perfect this time of year. We so enjoyed all of the animals and the goats were so friendly and accomodating, great energy all around and we are hoping to be back!

We had a lovely stay at the yurt! Such a beautiful property and Stephanie and the whole family were wonderful hosts. We loved the walk down to the river, building a fire, star gazing, our sweet little goat momma and baby neighbors, and waking up to the sounds of the countryside. The perfect relaxing getaway we were looking for! I definitely recommend getting the smores package ;) Also, Benny was the biggest, fluffiest, sweetest dog in the world and made us feel so safe! Make sure to bring a flashlight and some bug spray during mosquito season. Thank you for a great stay!

I absolutely loved camping at Stephanie’s tent. It felt like me fairy tale with lots of wild life visiting the farm often. She and her husband are amazing hosts and very attentive. They have amazing animals on the farm as well, including the lovely ship dog Benny who will be your personal bodyguard and ensure no harm comes to you.

We had such a nice stay in the yurt! Stephanie and Adam’s property is very private (be prepared to drive a ways on an unpaved road) and so peaceful. We got to meet their farm animals and super sweet dog! The yurt itself is simple and comfortable. We stayed in mid-November and stayed plenty warm with the space heaters provided. We opted for the breakfast add-on, which I highly recommend!

Great Yurt with an even better dog!

The yurt is so cozy and perfect for a couples get away! We made a perfect little weekend of staying at the yurt and visiting nearby Apple orchards. We had a great campfire using the firewood provided, and stayed nice and warm inside the yurt. The hosts are very responsive and helpful, they made the stay seamless. Highly recommend to others! Benny - the welcome committee and security division - is the best fluffy dog you’ll ever meet.

A magnificent yurt!

We where greeted by a handsome and friendly Pyrenees, and a handful of wonderful cats. The property was easy to find. The yurt included fresh drinking water, a comfy bed, two guitars, coffee maker, and a heater. All of which to say, the camp site was very welcoming, warm, and all so cozy. Between the the great hosts, and a phenomenal hike to a river we will certainly be back!

Amazing yurt retreat

This is a magical spot and the super sweet couple who run it are straight out of a Hallmark movie. We absolutely loved our rejuvenating time in the adorable yurt, outstanding massages and delicious breakfast. 20/10 recommend! Grab a pizza from Pizza Norcia for dinner, walk on down to the river, enjoy a cozy fire under the stars and rejuvenate from life. And be sure to say hi to Benny the watch dog - he’s so fluffy and adorable.
