Stopped for a very quick night at Thistle Dew on our way through. Easy to find. Nice level land to park and set up. Holly provided lovely burning wood for our camp fire. Close to road but not every active.

The campsite had very nice views of the nearby mountains and was well located near many parks and attractions. You can also see many beautiful stars at night as well as wildlife.

Holly was an awesome host! She was so accommodating and was happy to share some great spots around the community. We forgot to pack a table so we asked her where we could pick a table and she let us borrow one of hers. Would happy come back!

We loved our stay at Thistle Dew! The site is large enough to accommodate everything you'll need with a large firepit overlooking the mountains.
Holly was very friendly to chat with and brought over firewood as we needed instead of us having to go into town.
We would definitely stay again

My boyfriend and I loved camping here! We stayed for one night and it was beautiful. They provided a porta potty and a fire pit. Holly was quick to respond and an amazing host! Directions were clear and we would totally stay here again.

Great spot just outside of Fernie. Quite private considering you are just off the side of the road. Road is not very busy. Nice and level site for a van or truck camper. Lots of space. Comes with table, chairs, fire pit. Anywhere in Fernie you aren’t far from the railroad tracks so make sure to bring ear plugs. There is a porta-potty on site. It’s quite clean but was looking a little full while we were there. Host is nearby, very friendly. Would stay here again!

Basically right in Fernie but just far enough from the main town! A cozy camping spot that feels private and peaceful, yet close enough if you need anything. There’s an active train track nearby, but it just blends into the background.
I loved that it’s off-leash, so my dog could explore freely. Just be sure your dog has solid recall, as the main route below the site is busy with bikers, vehicles, and wildlife. There are nice walking and hiking trails behind the site, but again, stay mindful of wildlife.
Holly was amazing—kind, friendly, and quick to respond. She brought firewood that was cut and ready to use, with kindling and a fire starter. It was great to have her nearby if needed but still feel like we had total privacy.
Bring plenty of water and maybe a portable power source for inflating air mattresses or charging phones. Cell service is 1–2 bars, enough for calls, texts, and music. The outhouse is a huge plus and rare for private sites.
Our Jeep Cherokee Sport handled the driveway fine, even coming and going twice a day. AWD is helpful since the gravel is loose, but confident drivers shouldn’t have an issue.
Our 8-man dome tent fit easily with space left for the vehicle and chairs. Bring a table and chairs if you plan to cook with a gas stove, as none are provided.
This is such a special spot, and we will be back. Thanks, Holly!

This is a nice little single tent site-we fit two single tents with tarps. The site is gravel with a bit of grass, has a portable toilet. Bring water as there is no access to that unless going to Fernie.

I am from Regina Sk, I planned a trip to BC for a disc golf tournament in Fernie, Thistle Dew was an excellent location. Not only cause it was close to the course but the fact that it was absolutely stunning, tucked away with an amazing view. I will deffiently be returning to this spot in the years to come and highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys their peace.

Cute little camp spot, with just one site. Nice and private, surrounded by trees, but also close to the road. We found it a bit hard to find based on the directions, but it's actually located just before Holly's driveway (if you are coming from Fernie). Holly was a great host, and we enjoyed our weekend there! Thanks so much!

Holly's campsite is a perfect stop for the night! This was our first night on our big trans-Canada adventure. The campsite is private and in the trees, offering plenty of sun during the day but keeping you nicely in the shadows for the first part of the morning. Holly was an incredible host, everything from communication, road directions and local's tips were spot on. There is easy access to mountain biking and hiking trails, and the trans-Canada bike path is very nearby. Cleanest portapotty we've ever seen! Easy 10 minute drive from Fernie, with a gravel road for the last 1km. The road up to the camp site is short and steep, 4x4 is recommended but not necessary for a skilled driver. The trains do make some sound in the evening and morning but it didn't bother us at all!

The site was amazing! Beautiful views and lots of privacy. Aside from the occasional train, it was quiet and peaceful. Perfect location only being a few minutes outside of town. Will definitely camp here again!

Holly was a friendly and responsive host. Site is 10 min drive from Fernie, which was awesome. There is also a nice mountain bike trail you can use to get from the site to town.
The site was basic but exactly as described. The driveway to the site is steep and loose gravel. You can get up there with 2wd (I was in a Ram Promaster camper van) but need to really gun it.

Awesome little spot with a great view. Little steep rock road to get in, but our SUV got up just fine. Incredibly clean portable washroom on site (cleanest I've ever seen!)
We only stayed one night on our way to Montana but would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay closer to Fernie and have a campsite to yourself! No one else was sold except the owners who had their own seperate driveway and we barely saw them at all.

This is a lovely little campsite with trees nearly 360 degrees around it. Good and flat, perfect for a tent. My two dogs really enjoyed being able to wander around the site, even though they were a touch rude when Holly brought us some extra firewood. Thanks again for hosting us!

Beautiful quiet spot tucked away in the trees with views of the Lizard Mountain Range during the day and starry skies at night. I camped here over July long weekend with my son and dog, the campsite was easy to access up a short gravel private driveway with plenty of space for our tent and SUV. Thank you Holly for making our first Hipcamp experience perfect, we so appreciated the supply of firewood and had a great setup for rain or shine.

We were the first ones to camp at Thistle Dew! Holly was very accommodating and came to check in to make sure we had everything we needed. We had a great view of the mountains, along with a nice fire with some wood that Holly provided. Would definitely recommend camping here to get some privacy. The space is nice and flat and had lots of room for my truck.
