Learn more about this land: Our campsite is located along the beautiful Spillimacheen River, in Spillimacheen BC which is 20mins south of Golden BC and 30mins north of Radium Hot Springs BC. This property is very secluded and surrounded by crown land. It’s the perfect property to disconnect and reconnect, with limited cell service this allows you to turn off and just enjoy being outside in nature. Campers can choose where to park along a large cleared area. There are designated campfire locations and an outhouse. From the property, you can Kayak down the river, please Google and research before launching as there are a lot of writes ups and kayaking websites that feature the Spillimacheen River. Nature trails for hiking and walking right off the property. There is a well renowned natural rock wall for climbers 3km down the road, there are also a lot of websites that feature these rock walls. Within a half an hour drive you have two easy hikes in waterfalls (the Lower Bugaboo Falls and the Brisco Falls). Spillimacheen has a cafe and also a local market store that is full of delicious treats, beer and wine. The wetlands offer endless bird watching and beautiful mountain views. If you require firewood you must order ahead of your stay. On site purchases are not available. We deliver the bundles the day of your arrival. A walk and pack in tent site beside the creek. With walking paths directly to the river. Fire pit and an outhouse. Guests must pack out all garbage from the site. This area has flat ground covered in grass and is the site of the old camp. The walk in is about 50’ and easy to navigate. Surrounded by trees and the creek is only steps away. The property is quiet and private. With being completely off grid there is only natural light so remember to bring flashlights as it is pitch black when the sun goes down. Perfect for campfires and star gazing. An invasive beetle has been found in BC and at this time we are letting guests know that they can not bring outside wood to burn on the property. All our firewood is taking off the land so there is less chance of spreading. There will be notes posted in the outhouses with more information. Also please leave any left over firewood on the site at this time to also help spreading. We have to do our best to ensure our forests are kept green and healthy. We have also lowered the price on firewood during this time. If you would like to purchase wood please do so ahead of your arrival as we are not always on the property for last minute sales we like to have your bundles ready and waiting for you at your site.

Our property is located along the beautiful Spillimacheen River in the East Kootenays. This property is raw and secluded, surrounded by crown land. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and reconnect, with limited cell service this allows you to turn off and just enjoy being outside in nature. With the property being so secluded there is no artificial lights at night. Make sure to bring some flashlights as it gets dark but makes it perfect for star gazing. Campers can choose where to park along a large cleared area. There are designated campfire locations and an outhouse. We are opening up a few sites for long term summer camping, feel free to message us about these sites if your interested in a longer stay. From the property, you can Kayak down the river, please Google and research before launching as there are a lot of writes ups and kayaking websites that feature the Spillimacheen River. Nature trails for hiking and walking right off the property. There is a well renowned natural rock wall for climbers 3km down the road, there are also a lot of websites that feature these rock walls. Within a half an hour drive you have two easy hike in waterfalls (the Lower Bugaboo Falls and the Brisco Falls). Spillimacheen has a local boutique market store that is full of delicious treats, beer and wine. The wetlands offer endless bird watching and beautiful mountain views. During the high heat weeks/months there is no access to the river. The water level is very high and fast so will be blocked off. If you require firewood for your stay please book this option ahead of time as we are not always on site for delivery. We like to have to bundles delivered ahead and ready for your self check in arrival. You can book firewood through the extras option with hipcamp.

very beautiful camping spot. bit hard to find (there's a sign that says end of publicly maintained road that you need to drive past). when we went it was veryyyy mosquito driven but I think we had an unusually wet summer.

Beautiful views. It was like you had the whole mountain to yourself! There was a nice level gravel pad to park the camper. The road up and down to it was a little tricky with our size rig (34ft 5th wheel) but we made it ok. The only negative (which is beyond anyone's control) is that the mosquitos were REALLY bad. We heard this is an exceptionally bad year for them. Otherwise the place was lovely!

It's just not quite what we expected.. When you say secluded river camping your picture Is the untouched nature surrounding you. This is. A nice property but is basically a clear cut slab in the middle of the bush. The view is great But that's about it. The nice little pad of stones were a nice touch and the Outhouse quaint but needs maintenance with thorn bushes close to the entrance and along the trail. I think you need to be honest and tell people that it's actually a clear cut forest and not a pristine wilderness.. I'm sure it's fine for people from BC but for us in Ontario it's not quite the visual we hoped for. We have been Glamping across canada and found some beautiful places right in nature for free. Again with you was spectacular so thank you for that. It was great to meet your husband.

If you want an exciting drive that ends in a completely private, huge camp right on a creek, then this is the place for you. We stayed two nights and wished we had time for more. Nicole was super helpful and her directions are amazing. Don’t miss out on Beeland on the main road, the wine selection is shockingly good and they have so much local food! Can’t recommend this camp enough!

Definitely one of my favorite places i have camped anywhere. The remoteness and the beauty and the peace! I’ve seen it said and agree that pictures just wont do it justice. The view was just amazing to take in. The wildflowers around the fire pit were so cool. Even the pit toilet was bright and comfortable! I would love to go back and spend more time there.

My partner and I spent a few nights here with our 3 dogs. We specifically wanted a private campsite where we didn’t risk running into any other people or other dogs since one of our dogs is quite reactive. This campsite worked out perfectly! We did wander down to the river and saw two kayakers, otherwise we didn’t see a single person while we were camping here. The creek runs right along the river which our dogs absolutely loved. Since the water was high, getting down to the river sand bar was not super easy but was so worth it once we figured it out. You definitely feel like you’re out in the middle of nowhere with your own private little creek and a perfect view of the stars. We would definitely camp here again!!

I loved camping here! It was a beautiful view to go to bed too, and even better to wake up too. The gravel pad is even, no sharp rocks, well cleared, and would be awesome for a camper. We were tenting and it was great, however, there’s no earth to put your tent pegs into so we ended up sleeping in the car when the area got hit with a wind storm. Overall, awesome place to stay, close to Kootenay and Radium, beautiful views, peaceful and far from people. Dogs were super happy and so were we. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic place to camp in nature - away from everything. Beautiful spot surrounded by trees and birds. Much to explore in the area - and don’t miss Beeland on the main road for groceries. Nicole gave us very clear instructions on how to reach the place and tips for lical placed to visit. We had a wonderful stay and cannot wait to cone back!

Beautiful property with lots of space and privacy. We would definitely come back! Nicole was a great host and gave us plenty of information about the area. Lower Bugaboo Falls is nearby and is probably the most amazing waterfall I’ve ever seen.

We loved this property! Plenty of room for our camp trailer and an amazing view. There is a large clearing where we could throw a frisbee, the pit toilet is very nice and clean, and the secluded property is quiet as you listen to the river! We would definitely recommend this property if you want to get off the beaten path and truly feel like you are out in the woods.

Magical stay on beautiful land

We had the most magical stay on Nicole’s beautiful land. Secluded and peaceful with unobstructed views of the mountains. Communication was flawless and directions were detailed so that we had no difficulty finding our way in our 26ft RV. We were met by some very curious and very cute cows upon arrival and my pup loved watching them graze. It’s a short trek down to the river which we made on our mountain bikes with a few beers and the dog where we had a much needed, relaxing afternoon in the water. We would 100% stay here again and hope to in the near future. Thanks for everything Nicole!

This was the best Hipcamp site we have stayed in during our 2 month trip. However, the drive up to the site could be a little intimidating for the inexperienced. That being said, the drive for us and our trailer was fine and so worth the efforts. Beautifully maintained site with unmatched view. Nicole sent great directions and included a long list of area attractions. Great property with an abandoned mining site and paths along a lovely river. So wonderful

Couldn't ask for a better first Hipcamp experience! Lots to explore in the area. Spot was secluded, quiet, and had no cell service so we had the opportunity to completely disconnect (don't worry, service kicks in not far up the road). The spot was right next to a water source (river) and felt very natural but still had an outhouse which was a bonus. Nicole was a great host, connecting with us personally upon our arrival and provided excellent directions, suggestions, and communication up to our arrival (thanks again Nicole!). Will come back with kayaks next time to take advantage of all the waterways nearby. Highly recommend!

Hello! We very much enjoyed this location. it is secluded, close to a river, and has a gorgeous mountain view. We were the only ones on the property for the time we were there and it was very quiet. The road into the location was suitable for us and trailer. We are 30ft total with trailer and vehicle. Once you cross SpillMacheen bridge, just follow that road until you get there. We turned around once or twice thinking we went too far but hadn't gone far enough. There is a large farm with two dogs that will chase your car. It can be startling if you are not expecting it. The location is roughly 40 minutes from Radium by it is a pretty drive. Outhouse on location which was appreciated! Minimal service, in and out, most of the time. Maybe a text will come through but nothing otherwise. Pitch black at night! Wish it wasn't cloudy so we could have seen more of the stars. Be prepped with mosquito repellent, they come and go buy can b a nuisance through the stay. All part of nature! Overall we had a great stay and thoroughly enjoyed Banff NP. Thank you to the host for allowing us on property and we would recommend this location to all travelers.

Absolutely loved this spot! The views were wonderful, and the privacy was great and so peaceful. (Lots of mosquitos, but that’s a given. Bug spray kept them away.) There’s a great outhouse that’s very clean and the path to it is lit up. Nicole was also awesome! Communicative, very kind, and helped us with any questions we had. We’ll definitely stay here again whenever we’re back in the area!

Overall we had a good experience. The host was very friendly and tried her best to give us a good time. The view was wunderful, but water wasn't as close as we expected, shade was very little and the bugs were terrible.

I would recommend this place to anybody. Nicole gave us clear directions to the site, as first time visitors to the country it was easy as anything to find. The site is sunny and spacious with plenty of access to wood for fire and an outhouse. During the stay, we locked our keys in the car and while the rental company was no use, Nicole and her husband helped us in our time of need and saved our trip!!! Above and beyond from the hosts, thanks so much!!

Amazing views, full privacy, outhouse, and beautiful firepit area. Our stay was wonderful and Nicole and her family were so kind and welcoming. You have the whole area to yourself which is mad! Very peaceful and no signal so can fully switch off! Cant recommend enough!
