Very noisy. Not a place for relax and sleep. I feel like it’s place just for people to sleep before the ferry, bcuz specially these people waking you up at 5 am and you can hear a highway very clear. Also, I was surprised that shower is for people who did bring coins with them (loonie=5 minutes). However, I want to point out that the shower/toilet is clean as is the area in general.

Site 9 - Camping in Port Hardy
Interesting stay… seems everyone books tent site 10 then randomly picks an open camp site. We arrived to find a bunch of guys in what we thought was our site, we parked as best we could on the first night. The second night we had two more campers packed around us. They were also in site 10! Go figure! Bathrooms were clean with large pay for showers… but only 2 for the entire park! Lots of back up’s waiting…

The location was super convenient and beautiful, but essentially this is the RV park and camping in town. Pretty loud and lots of in and out traffic all night/ morning.

It is exactly as described! I suggest setting up tent by the picnic tables as the open field site has no cover and gets overrun with people making quick stops during the night.

This was the perfect spot to pitch a tent for the night before we left to do the north coast trail. The check in was seamless, the use of communal BBQs was great for cooking out dinner. Bathrooms were clean and maintained. Was nice to have a water supply. And it's minutes from the north coast water taxi. If you don't mind camping in a big gassy area its a great spot!!

Site 1 - Camping in Port Hardy
Really nice spot for tent camping where I was, I had a picnic table and fire ring (could not use due to fire ban), it was very quiet during the day, and ample green grass or trees to camp under. Good showers and toilets, BBQ available and jungle gym for little ones. However on both nights tent campers showed up at 1am, made noise for an hour while setting up, and woke most campers around them making things unpleasant while insults were exchanged with the inconsiderate new arrivals. I recommend NOT allowing new campers after 10pm. People can plan accordingly or sleep in their car until the gates are opened. A gate or chain with clear signs also should be put up to self enforce the curfew.

The staff were fantastic and very helpful and friendly. The tent camp sites would be better if there was more bushes and trees surrounding each site for a bit more privacy.

Great sites, great facilities and great staff. Made my stay easy and felt safe/comfortable. Healthy amount of firewood for the price. Had HOT showers and laundry facilities for coins. Worked very well and were clean, same as the flush toilets. Included were a couple of gas a a couple of charcoal barbecues. Free to use and had propane and clean utensils ready. Really a gem of a campground. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Very nice view from the tent sites. Heated bathrooms with coin showers. They were generous with the amount of firewood they provide for a given price and it was dry and burned nicely. It was about a 3K walk to get into downtown Port hardy so after setting up my tent I had a lesiurley walk to get some dinner and stopped for a drink on the way back. The check in window was a bit on the short side 3PM - 6PM and the fact that it is right off the highway means there is vehicle noise so it didn't feel terribly remote but overall a very good value and I enjoyed my stay.

I chose to stay an extra night. Right off the highway before entering Port Hardy. Super tidy and spacious! Lots of tenting type options & the cabins looks cozy. Shower, laundry and sinks to wash ur things. Lovely walking path, short trip of the estuary near by.

Respectful cabins, RV and tentsite spot. Well appointed recycling and playground with community covered shelter and bbq area very useful for tenters to get out of rain.

We stayed our first of three nights on North Van Isle at Port Hardy RV. Hung our hammocks in the forested area between the cabins and the estuary. Great place, we enjoyed it so much, we can back for our last night. Shower & bathroom facilities are top notch. Everything a traveler could ask for.

Tent camping here was great - we really enjoyed the clean bathrooms with warm water, spacious sites, and friendly hosts. There was a busy road nearby but the noise of traffic wasn't an issue while we were asleep. I would definitely camp here again!

This was a good place to tent camp. We spent 2 nights here. Restrooms were kept clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again if I came back to Port Hardy.

Port Hardy RV Resort and Cabins is an incredible place to stay while exploring the north end of the Island. Even with all the activities available around Port Hardy, one could simply stay at Laura’s property and be totally happy. From a number of oceanside or forest tent sites, cute log cabins, or full-service RV sites, there’s something for any type of camper. With a beautiful estuary to explore, nature trails starting right at the property, a river to swim/fish in, ample room for field games, a BBQ pavilion, and a playground, there’s something for all ages. The amenities include firepits, picnic tables, flush toilets, hot showers, firewood available for purchase, and even wifi. Being located five minutes from Port Hardy, supplies are a breeze to find. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Laura is extremely responsive and happy to help with anything one might need. With clean and useful amenities on such a beautiful property, the campground really is a gem, and certainly where I’ll stay next time I’m in Port Hardy.
