Amazing spot for camping with our 2 young kiddos. Serephina the donkey was the friendliest donkey we've ever met and the whole experience was so wonderful. Great location, great site, easy in and out, and very pleasant interactions with Amanda.

Great place to set up a tent. Quiet and relatively private. My only suggestion would be to dim/ turn off the very bright porch light that shines into the site.

Amanda was an excellent host and very friendly and helpful. Her land is so beautiful and peaceful and it was an added bonus having the farm animals there. The donkey is particularly hilarious! We loved our stay and would 100% stay again

Amanda was a lovely host and we enjoyed the peace and serenity at her little farm. My twin boys loved hanging with the donkey and we would definitely recommend her place!

We all had such a lovely time camping at dashwood meadows. Huge campsites with plenty of space for little ones to wander around. The children enjoyed seeing all the farm animals and eating plums from the trees. What a gem of a place. Amanda is such a lovely host. Would highly recommend and would come back to this location.

We Loved staying at Dashwood Meadows!
It was a very relaxing experience. The kids loved the animals, especially the donkey.
It was fun to pick some of the uber delicious plums from the trees. Amanda was very helpful, she recommended a nearby hike that was the perfect length for the little ones.
Definitely recommend a stay… thanks Amanda!

We really enjoyed our night at Dashwood Meadows. Nice and quiet, but easy to access from Hwy 19. Loved the setting—beautiful trees, interesting gardens and a sweet donkey that ambles back and forth in the paddock next to the camping area. Amanda is a very welcoming host

We loved staying at Amanda’s property! There was a super clean compost toilet and a great picnic table. Our grandchildren loved the animals and picking the fruit right of the tree. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We had the most amazing time. Amanda was so kind and trusted us to be around her beautiful animals. The property was amazing and the best part was that the dog was able to run run run. Any questions we had Amanda was able to answer and even give us suggestions on places to visit.
We got our fill on wonderful cherries too!!
The composting toilet was also really nice. I am not going to lie I wasn’t sure what that would be like and I will say I will take it over an outhouse any day. No smell and very clean.
I would love to go back again and enjoy the quiet and beautiful nature.

Dashwood Meadows is a lovely place to stay.
Upon arrival, Amanda and her dog Spiro kindly greeted us and guided us to our home for the night. We stayed in site 3 ‘Cherry lane’ and there was tons of space to set up camp whether you’re in a tent or a campervan set up. There’s lots to explore around the area! We were neighboured with a donkey and some sheep nearby and it was a wonderful way to enjoy nature. Further down from the site are some chickens and goats who didn’t mind us visiting. There’s a beautiful garden full of green veg and herbs and vibrant flowers.
To the other travellers looking for something unique, Dashwood Meadows is the place to be! Thanks again Amanda

We had an excellent stay here. Super quiet, with friendly owners, friendly dog and a donkey. The site we were at had tree cover, so would be ideal for hot summer days. Thanks to the owners for sharing WiFi with us as well.

Great site that is fully fenced so if you have dogs, they can run free. Hosts are very nice and welcoming. Easy to get to, although a bit tight backing our 24' trailer in through the gate. For those that use Starlink, it does have quite a few trees, but we found enough open sky to make it useable for general stuff, but probably not enough to stream.

We loved staying on Amanda's land! Quiet but not too far from the beach or restaurants. The camp area was enclosed so our dog could run around free, chatting with the donkey on the property.

Amanda greeted us when we arrived and was a wonderful host! She was fun to talk to and answered all of our questions. We had reserved Site 1, but since no other campers were there, she suggested we camp in 2 or 3 so we would be closer to the toilet. Everything was very clean and tidy, and I felt very safe there and had no worries about leaving all of our camping things there while we went exploring. I highly recommend Amanda's place to other campers.

The site was clean and orderly, the dogs and animals were great company, and the location is conveniently located for exploring the area or as a rest stop for crossing the island.

I enjoyed my 2 night stay at Dashwood Meadows. It was quiet…well, except for the farm animals, which was charming. I am partial to the dog and the donkey. Very clean, nicely maintained hobby farm. I was the only guest for two rainy nights so my dog was in heaven running free in the fenced campground area. Amanda gave great recommendations about dog friendly activities.

Amandas home is lovely - the animals are friendly and hilarious. Spiro is a very good guardian dog with a nice temperament. We enjoyed the quiet days and privacy of camping on a large property - this was our first time ever, using hipcamp.
That said, we were in tents, and I am a very light sleeper, so there were times when the dog barking or the donkey braying woke me up in the early hours. If you’re a light sleeper sleeping in a tent, you may wish to make other arrangements or at least bring earplugs or headphones. And if you sleep heavily and/or have a camper, this place is wonderful, just like the people and animals that live there.
It is in a wonderfully convenient location, just a few kilometres off the main highway, and was a fabulous home base. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Amanda was a gem! We arrived and she met us at the gate along with Sperrow (if that's how you spell it, sorry Amanda :p) who's a lovely guardian dog and enjoys his pets.
We camped for a couple nights and woke up to coffee with the farm donkey, sheep, goats and chickens. Had a fun little walk around the one morning and chatted with Amanda some as she fed them all.
The restroom is very well kept (better than provincials!) and there are 3 bins out for compost and recyclables.
It is a wonderful quiet area with multiple other campers in the vicinity.

We had the most peaceful experience staying on Amanda and Pavel's property. We've already recommended it to several friends whom we know would love it just as much as we have!
Our stay was 8 nights in total and, honestly, we could have stayed for a month. We felt safe and welcome and were close enough to all of our favourite swimming holes, and so much more!

Bummed my stay was so brief! Amanda is an outstanding host- meeting me at the entry and giving me a tour of her lovely farm and recommendations for my stay. The mini donkey and I became fast friends 🫶🏼 And the compost toilet is a camper’s dream (silly but seriously). Will absolutely be back!
