Great little spot to have a rest and recoup. The sauna and cold plunge are fantastic, tiny homes are fully stocked with all the comforts of home. We used it as a couple days stop off on a camping road trip and it was perfect. There was some construction as they are still setting up the facility. When they have completed the construction and are fully done I would seriously consider staying here for a couple weeks, working remotely to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Side note: the cats and dogs that live on the property are adorable and so friendly!!

It's a real off-grid homestead

This is a real off-grid homestead, with people working and living on the property.
First, the good stuff:
The guy who showed us around was really nice. He took us around and showed us the property and areas we may like to hike.
He lit the wood burning sauna for us and the sauna was great! We were the only guests so it was nice to have the evening with the sauna and cold plunges.
There are many spots to choose to camp and you can't see anyone else around, which we loved.
There were two kittens living on the property and they were so cute and cuddly.
There is a baby loving on the property so that was cute.
The not as good:
What I wasn't as big a fan of was the sound of generators running for much of the day and all through the night, as well as the large dogs barking throughout the day and night. Also, while the dogs didn't do anything negative towards me, they growled and barked at me at times, so if you're even a little timid around dogs, I wouldn't recommend this place. Also, two men began loudly working before 7 am and it woke me up.
Another strange thing was how public the spa/sauna area was to the main living area of the property. The shower is in full view of the communal area and you can see those using that space and they can see you. It would be nice if there was an enclosure of any kind around the shower.
If you're someone considering what communal off grid living is like, I recommend this place. If you're hoping for a quiet retreat, I'd say look elsewhere.

What an unforgettable experience! The journey to the property was smooth, with clear directions that made our arrival easy. We were warmly greeted by one of the hosts, Carson, who went above and beyond to give us a detailed tour of the entire property and explain how to use all the amenities. He even guided us to choose the perfect spot to set up camp. We arrived just before sunset, and Carson took my partner, our friends, and me to a breathtaking viewpoint to watch the sunset—a truly stunning moment that set the tone for our stay.
The facilities were nothing short of exceptional. The saunas and cold plunge were a perfect touch for an off-grid retreat, with two beautiful locations to choose from and a charming outdoor shower. The communal kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to cook a large dinner for our group with ease. We were also grateful for the fast, free Wi-Fi, which kept us connected when needed.
The friendly dog and cat on the property added to the charm, making us feel even more at home. Carson, Luke, and their family, who care for the land, were incredibly welcoming and made sure we had an amazing experience. We can't wait to return and see the future plans for this incredible property come to life. A huge thank you to everyone for making our stay so memorable—this place is truly one of a kind!

My wife and I had an amazing time at Azhen Sanctuary! I can't say enough about how accommodating they were. When we arrived, Carson gave us a tour of the property and did a great job explaining how everything works. When we picked a spot to camp, we realized our tent was broken and had no way to fix it. Carson was kind enough to lend us a tent, saving us a trip all the way to Osoyoos as it was getting dark. We really appreciated that!
We loved the spa and the entire property. Jaymie and his whole crew are down-to-earth and great people to be around. The place has great vibes and a real community feel. I had a chance to chat with Jaymie, and he shared his vision for the sanctuary and all the hard work they've put into it, along with some cool projects they're working on to make it even more of a Zen haven.
We will be back next year and are already looking forward to it!

Loved camping at Shelby's. Carson was an excellent host with very clear instructions, and also provided a tour of property and amenities.
We arrived on a day with absolutely clear skies, so we got to experience a really beautiful night sky with views of galaxy, constellations and stars.
The shared kitchen is a lovely place to relax and meet new people.
Overall we had a great time. Looking forward to come again. :)

My partner and I had a wonderful time at the Azhen Sanctuary. The hosts were so friendly & helpful.
The location, amenities including the kitchen, gym, sauna, and cold plunge, were terrific. This spot is truly a slice of heaven.
We will definitely be back!

Incredible experience! The perfect get away for a luxurious, rustic adventure. Couldn’t be happier with the level of service and accommodations. Can’t wait to come back. The lounge/community kitchen is perfect. The sauna/cold plunge was glorious. The upper sauna and swimming hole is a must. Our host was incredible and we highly recommend a stay here!

I car camped in one of the many spots to choose from and absolutely recommend you to do the same. I was close enough to the lower spa area yet far enough away to be in my own little area. If you want a nice quiet and relaxing weekend away, this is definitely a must.

The place was indeed a sanctuary. Upon arriving Luke toured us to the property and answered all our questions clearly. The place was peaceful and had everything you will ever need for camping.
We also booked their add-on Sauna with cold plunge and was definitely worth it!

It's a beautiful area, very relaxing. the host way very helpful and always went out of his way to assist us with any needs we had. Would definitely recommend to a friend. Bring bug spray! (a recommendation for almost every rural area in BC in the summer)

The instructions to get to the camp are super easy to follow and we loved spending the night here. Highly recommend adding the extra $20 for the sauna/ cold plunge.
Just note: If you are a light sleeper I recommend bringing earplugs. There are guarding dogs to keep wildlife out of the property and they bark at night. It didn’t bother us and loved to see them work.

We had an amazing experience at Scenic Off-Grid Camping & Spa! The whole setup is incredibly relaxing, quiet, and professional. The kitchen and common area are well-organized, making it easy for our group to prepare meals and enjoy the space. The staff were very friendly and informative, always ready to help with any questions we had.
The road leading to the campsite is well-maintained, so you can easily drive there with any car suitable for highway travel. The entire experience was fantastic, and everyone in our group loved it. We're already planning to come back with a larger group.
Highly recommended to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat! It would be great to see more photos online showcasing all the fantastic amenities available.

I had an awesome stay at Ahzen. The kitchen and communal area was excellent for an off grid site. Of course the highlight was the spa amenities, hopping between the sauna and cold tubs was just what I needed to recover and unwind. The staff were awesome and very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend it as a restful relaxing stay!

This was such a great find. The communal cooking area was great, and we had an excellent time playing around on the climbing wall then doing the sauna + cold plunge experience. The hosts of this site are very warm, friendly, and helpful, and we loved learning about the plans they have for Ahzen Sanctuary. If I’m ever in the area I will definitely come back.

My family and I have never had an experience quite like staying at Shelby’s, it was incredible! From the amazing stay in the wall tent, to swimming in the spring fed pond, cooking meals in the amazingly set-up of the communal kitchen or lounging on our own deck, it was awesome.

We loved the communal kitchen, access to the sauna, shower, and cold tubs. Scenery was beautiful and everyone was friendly and helpful. We forgot blankets and there was no problem borrowing a few. Our kids had a blast exploring the land, seeing the chickens, and the dogs.

We only stayed for one night. The spa and cold plunge would have been great, but the shower was shared with other farm workers, as was the kitchen space and the experience lacked privacy. We also had a dog with us, which needed to be kept in our car at night when the working dog was out (the dog barked the entire night, including near our tent and peed on our tent and gear). The campsite is not dog friendly, the camping site was nice but a hard/bumpy grassy area which was far from flat and not great for a tent. The outhouse has a bucket (only) and our teen thought this was far from okay! So for us, terrible, but perhaps it might be nice in other conditions/and if we had not had our dog.

This is definitely NOT a pet friendly stay. The owners required our pet to be detained in our car or tent by 9 pm.. ( 38 C weather) This was for our dogs safety, as their dogs were unfixed and potentially aggressive.
The tenting area made available was atop a hill, with no shelter from the sun and by the road, that created terrible dust. we booked 3 nights and left after 1.
I would would not recommend this stay.

What a cool find!! The hosts were amazing, friendly and kind. Definitely off the beaten path but sooo worth the drive. Super cool community kitchen and gathering area with everything you need. There is alot of work going into this land and it shows...nice to enjoy an outdoor sauna and my son loved the cold plunge tubs. Definitely recommend this Gem in the mountains. Can't wait to go back and see how it grows.

The Azhen sanctuary is definitely an experience worth trying at least once.
My partner and I were able to enjoy wonderful quiet time, go for a really nice hike to the mountain and swim in a lake just 10 minutes away from the common area and not to mention the sauna and the cold plunges.
It was an unforgettable experience and the ambiance that the staff brings to the place is both comforting and welcoming.
Thank you very much Azhen team for all the accommodations you had with us and for making our time there so special, we’re looking forward seeing you guys next year!

This place is magical. From the moment you arrive it’s so tranquil and quiet. My partner and Jason absolutely loved our stay here. Carson was a great tour guide of the place and let us know everything in detail. Everyone who works here are the loveliest humans! The sauna was one of our favourite parts of our stay. Highly recommend and we will be back in Aug.

We had a wonderful stay at the Azhen Sanctuary.
We pitched our tent on the property and were able to use the sauna and cold water tubs, which was amazing since it was chilly and sauna was just what we needed! Kitchen and the shared space was so helpful and easy to use.
Carson was amazing! We arrived quite late in the day and he stayed up to make sure we found the place ok, provided us an extra sleeping bag and showed us around. They’re currently working on adding new facilities, so we will be definitely keeping an eye out and come back to stay for longer soon! Lots of different accommodations to choose from too.

My husband and I had a great stay. This land is still coming together so the ammenities weren't fully available just yet but it was cool to see such a big project in the making. The tents were cozy and nicely decorated and the common kitchen area is massive with everything you need. No service but they do have star link in the common area. The host (Carson) took really good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Looking forward to returning once the project is completed
