Willow Lane Farm is a Heritage Breed Poultry farm that runs a
small rescue/sanctuary for livestock.
The Main farm is situated on 60 acres which backs onto crown land.
There's open fields, forest, wetlands and paddocks full of all sorts of animals.
Towards the back, there's
several small ponds and a river that runs through the property.
Located in the north east corner of Sudbury, in the town of Hanmer, Ontario.
Sudbury is known as the Blueberry Capitol.
The small mining town has grown into a good sized city which is situated in a crater.
It's prime location is a haven for geologists, blueberry pickers, snowmobilers, and fishermen. With over 50 lakes close by, and lots of ATV/sled trails, it's a great recreational place with lots to do or sit back and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
Animals are welcomed. And Paddock space is available for Horses, riders and eventers looking for a place to stop over, rest or excersize their livestock.

Welcome to our family-friendly farm! We are open year-round and are located in Hanmer, Ontario in the Greater Sudbury area. While staying with us, we encourage you to take a farm tour, try the petting zoo or enjoy the scenery.
With over 60 acres of farmland, our private and secluded campsites are level and are ideal for any type of camping, from tents to large RVs and everything in between, we can accommodate anyone looking to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. The property offers flat farm fields that back onto wooded areas with a river, pond, and nearby hiking trails!
A firepit is provided (Firewood available to purchase) and if you are planning on cooking we have pots and pans upon request. If you need water please feel free to fill up at the house. We also have an outhouse on site.
30 lakes are within a half-hour drive, great for fishing! Sudbury is in a crater, so there are lots of interesting rocks to see if geology interests you. We also have many trail plans for ATV and snow machines (permits required). Seasonal blueberry picking is also available on-site. We are only 10 minutes away from the Train Museum, a must-see while in the area!
Pets are always welcome, as are riders and their mounts.

The Glamper is situated between two BnB’ cabins but is private with views (no one can see each other) but trails, field, and parking are shared. Owner lives on site as well. There is no A/C. Wifi is available if you walk 30 yards towards it, and depending on your carrier, there may be no cell or data service at all.

Close to Algonquin Park, Samuel de Champlain Park, the Mattawa River, and Lake Nipissing. Camp in the tiny house on a queen bed with composting toilet, and wood burning mini stove, nestled at the edge of a field surrounded by bush, and overlooking the pond. Trails throughout the property as well. Trailer conversion so you can camp in comfort. I provide a clean mattress pad for each visitor, but no bed linens or pillows. If you need a towel let me know. The Glamper is situated between two BnB’ cabins but is private with views (no one can see each other) but trails, field, and parking are shared. Owner lives on site as well. There is no A/C. Wifi is available if you walk 30 yards towards it, and depending on your carrier, there may be no cell or data service at all.

Welcome to Sonshine Homestead — a peaceful, back-to-basics camping experience nestled in the quiet forest and brushland of Northern Ontario.
Our property offers a growing collection of off-grid tent sites, each tucked among trees, giving you room to breathe and unplug. These are no-frills campsites — no power, no running water, and no built-in amenities (Outhouses near sites). You bring your own gear, and we provide the space, the stillness, and the sky.
You’ll wake to birds chirping, the wind through the brush, and maybe a crowing rooster. We have walking trails, two ponds, and lots of open space to explore. Some sites are drive-in, others require a short walk.
We’re surrounded by crown land just a short drive away, with trails perfect for hiking or ATVing. Within an hour you’ll find countless lakes for swimming, fishing, paddling, or just floating the day away. The land around us is full of life with cattle, horses, and sheep to mention a few.
Sonshine Homestead sits in the heart of a small farming and Amish community, and the local culture reflects that. On Saturdays, don’t miss the Powassan Farmers’ Market (9am–1pm) for produce, meats, baked goods, preserves, and handmade treasures. And if you take the scenic route, you’ll pass farmstands in every direction — most on the honour system, stocked with whatever the land’s giving that week.
You won’t find bells and whistles here — but if you’re after quiet land, fresh air, and a patch of ground to pitch your tent, we’d love to host you. We’re growing slowly and simply — like good things should. Kids under 13 stay free, because around here, growing is kind of the point. If you’re a larger family and need a bit more space, just reach out — we’ll do our best to make it work.

Our stay at Site 1 on Matt's property was exactly what we were looking for. A peaceful and private site with everything we needed.
My pup and I enjoyed a quiet night watching the gorgeous sunset before turning in.
Unfortunately due to some poor communication on my part and odd arrival/departure time, I did not get to meet Matt. But we would absolutely stay again for longer next time we're in the area.

Weekend Trip to Forest & Farm Wilderness Retreat
We loved camping on Jen’s land! The directions were clear, the trailer was very clean, cozy, and very comfortable. My kids loved seeing the farm animals and we all loved hiking to the waterfall and seeing the beautiful views of nature. The bonfire with marshmallow roasting was a highlight too!
