Our property is located just off the beaten path with 4.5 acres of land. It’s close to shopping and turnpike/hwy access but still has the out-in-the-country feel. We have a half acre pond filled with bluegill and large mouth bass, a hillside with apple trees and blackberry bushes, and a large gravel turnaround for easy access. We are close to Cuyahoga Valley National Park as well as multiple metro park areas for hiking and biking. Nearby attractions include Blossom Music Center, downtown Cleveland, and Boulder Creek—an award-winning golf course just minutes away. Wineries, bike trails, and canoe adventures await as well. Tent Camping Our tent camping spots are located under Mother Oak, a 100-year-old oak tree in the middle of our farm. With ample shade, a fire pit, and nearby portapotty, you can relax under the stars into the night. Hiking trails weave through the back of the property and you are welcome to explore those as well. Because we are a working homestead and farm, a few things are true: -Sometimes there’s mud. We suggest boots for walking around the property and in the woods. -Our farm animals are great - and may also bite. Please do not pet or chase them. We are happy to arrange opportunities to interact with the animals. Just ask! -Not always, but at times, our neighbors will start farming early in the morning and you can hear their machinery. All of our sites have privacy but are not truly remote. We want you to enjoy yourselves but please be mindful that our house is on the property as well as our neighbors. Music needs to be turned down to a low level by 11 PM. We can accommodate pop-up campers, camper vans, etc near Mother Oak as well. Please message with any questions before reserving. Additional fees would apply. We can also accommodate larger tent camping groups depending on the day. Additional fees would apply. The homestead is located near 58 so you can hear cars during the day and night. The cabins are about a ½ mile from the road so the noise is greatly reduced. Hello, this is 22 acres of no frills undeveloped land with beautiful Arcola Creek that runs into Lake Erie. There's room for an RV or can pitch a tent. Enjoy Arcola Creek Estuary a mile away, bird watching, multiple wineries, covered bridges, Geneva on the Lake or enjoy all day by the creek. There is a perfect spot with a fire pit. (Firewood provided-please leave some for the next camper if early in the week.) There are rough trails in the back where the land was logged. There is not a bridge currently but can be accessed easily when the water level is low. Please limit guests to 6 or less people. Land is not perfectly level. Although neighbors are some distance away I asked that noise levels are low after 10. Facts & History:: Arcola creek runs into an estuary. Its one of the last remaining natural estuaries in Ohio. Steelhead trout spawn and migratory birds find shelter here. The creek was used by Native Americans and the area was instrumental for its role in the Underground Railroad for escaped slaves that boarded ships (at the end of the Dock Rd) on their way to Canada. The town of Ellensburg was built at the junction of Arcola Creek and Lake Erie. It was a thriving community of ship builders, fishermen and commerce. Arcole Iron Works was located south of the mouth of the creek (then called Cunningham Creek after Captain John Cunningham who purchased property there in the early 1800s). Arcole Iron Works was, at one time, the largest industry in Ohio. Bog iron, discovered in Madison Township near North Ridge Road in 1812, and the abundance of timber provided the raw materials for iron furnaces. Iron stoves, kettles, hollowware and other heavy castings were made at the foundry. Everyone is welcome here, let me know ahead of time if there's anything to make your stay more comfortable. Nearly 2,500 acres of marshes and woodlands create a beautiful ambiance for your next getaway in Mother Nature. Stroll along one of two trails in the park, where robins and warblers tucked behind purple cresses and beech-maple trees may just move you to tears, or at least to write a haiku. Floating devices of just about every variety are invited to channel the 7,850 lake, and areas like a dog park means Fido is more than welcome on the scene. We doubt the mosquitos will be much of a problem, but if worse comes to worse, you can just light some of those good-smelling candles or load up on the catnip (look it up!) to fend off potential itchy bites.

Hello, this is 22 acres of no frills undeveloped land with beautiful Arcola Creek that runs into Lake Erie. There's room for an RV or can pitch a tent. Enjoy Arcola Creek Estuary a mile away, bird watching, multiple wineries, covered bridges, Geneva on the Lake or enjoy all day by the creek. There is a perfect spot with a fire pit. (Firewood provided-please leave some for the next camper if early in the week.) There are rough trails in the back where the land was logged. There is not a bridge currently but can be accessed easily when the water level is low. Please limit guests to 6 or less people. Land is not perfectly level. Although neighbors are some distance away I asked that noise levels are low after 10. Facts & History:: Arcola creek runs into an estuary. Its one of the last remaining natural estuaries in Ohio. Steelhead trout spawn and migratory birds find shelter here. The creek was used by Native Americans and the area was instrumental for its role in the Underground Railroad for escaped slaves that boarded ships (at the end of the Dock Rd) on their way to Canada. The town of Ellensburg was built at the junction of Arcola Creek and Lake Erie. It was a thriving community of ship builders, fishermen and commerce. Arcole Iron Works was located south of the mouth of the creek (then called Cunningham Creek after Captain John Cunningham who purchased property there in the early 1800s). Arcole Iron Works was, at one time, the largest industry in Ohio. Bog iron, discovered in Madison Township near North Ridge Road in 1812, and the abundance of timber provided the raw materials for iron furnaces. Iron stoves, kettles, hollowware and other heavy castings were made at the foundry. Everyone is welcome here, let me know ahead of time if there's anything to make your stay more comfortable. Nearly 2,500 acres of marshes and woodlands create a beautiful ambiance for your next getaway in Mother Nature. Stroll along one of two trails in the park, where robins and warblers tucked behind purple cresses and beech-maple trees may just move you to tears, or at least to write a haiku. Floating devices of just about every variety are invited to channel the 7,850 lake, and areas like a dog park means Fido is more than welcome on the scene. We doubt the mosquitos will be much of a problem, but if worse comes to worse, you can just light some of those good-smelling candles or load up on the catnip (look it up!) to fend off potential itchy bites.

We have just under 20 acres. You can drive right to the camp sites located about 700 foot behind the house. It is a peaceful setting over looking a pond, fishing is welcome. In 1955 when my family bought our 180-acre farm, there were Shagbark Hickory trees lining both shores of a rock-filled stream. Years later a 550-acre lake was created from damming our stream and Hickory shores became the wildlife- filled headwaters. Bald Eagles, fox, river otters, ospreys, beaver, and deer are frequent visitors to our farm along with other water birds and wildlife. Recreational opportunities are plentiful including fishing, paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking. The 50 mile Western Reserve Greenway paved bike trail is 1 1/2 miles away on country roads and other adjoining roads create unlimited quiet country rides and walks. In 2023 we have added a 3/4 mile wooded trail along the shores of Rock Creek with lookouts and 27 numbered stops. These stops are described in our Hickory Shores interpretive guide available at the trailhead. Additional hiking trails continue upstream and connect two seasonal waterfalls on the property. Benches along the way provide quiet spots to rest or picnic. Spectacular sunsets, a quiet country paved road and Amish buggies await your visit. We are in Ashtabula County, home to 32 wineries and 19 covered bridges including the shortest and longest in the U.S. The second weekend in October brings the Covered Bridge Festival in nearby Jefferson, Ohio. We are conveniently located south of Lake Erie and 16 miles east of Pymatuning Reservoir for additional recreational opportunities. We currently offer 2 campsites, and both are conveniently located near a cottage style bathroom which features a flush toilet and shower. The electric site provides a 30 amps connection and a hook-up to water if desired. Each site has a campfire ring with outdoor chairs. A redwood picnic table is located at each site. An outdoor utility sink is also provided for dishwashing and can be found outside the bathhouse. Abundant firewood is available for $5.00 a wheelbarrow. (Honor system). If you are bringing dogs, please be aware that Sunny the inside/outside cat may greet you (he loves to say hello). For his safety and the safety of your pet, please keep dogs leashed. I had a nice hot tent solo camp by the creek. There was wood supplied by Craig in my short notice of booking the site. The site is tucked away on the bank of the creek with plenty of flat areas to pitch a tent and great views and sounds of the creek. I post my stays at Get Livin Outdoors on YouTube. Yes you park close to your truck or car. The site was private and peaceful. I definitely would return again.

We had a great time! We have trouble finding spots for winter camping and this space was great. We actually forgot our tent poles so the trip could have needed a lot of adapting- but with the access to the barn, we were able to set up inside. Facilities & amenities were clean & as described. Loved watching the animals in the morning and setting up my hammock back by the chickens. Allison was a fantastic host. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great spot located right by CVNP. We enjoyed the campfire and laughed every time a goat would remind us we weren’t alone by sneezing. Even though the sun set early and the cool fall air filled the night we had fun. The barn was a nice surprise and good location for a small party. Site has gravel, cement pad and grass areas to camp (your choice) on in a semi rural setting outside the town of Geneva on the Lake. Hookups for electric (110 and 30 amp) as well as water were available. Which was very convenient.

We enjoyed our stay though we were late to arrive an early to depart for a meeting in a N.E. Cleveland suburb. It was easy to find in the dark and the goats were fun after breakfast. If you have children it would be especially nice. In our case, our Great Pyrenees enjoyed meeting new friends.

Craig's Hipcamp property was amazing! Had such a great relaxing 2-night stay. Beautiful Fall weather and nice scenic creek and wooded views, lots of wood available too. Craig was a great host, very communicative and accommodating. No issues with road noise, occasional traffic during the day mainly while we were there but nothing that took away from the experience at all. The road was a bit of a distance away and over a small incline, not in direct view of camp area by the creek. You don't feel like you are close to the other houses here on this large acreage, it felt extremely private and secluded. Would definitely recommend this property, I plan on coming back!

Great place to relax, star gaze , enjoy a nice fire in fire pit. Very quiet and peaceful. You get greated by a black lab and chocolate lab , Tucker and Cooper very good Dogs luv to play Fetch , will bring you stick ...lol Both great dogs don't jump on you .. Just want to play fetch . Owners are Great people to.. Had good conversation with both . Highly recommend Old Smoky , lots of winerys, places to eat , and only short drive to lake Erie.

Our property is located just off the beaten path with 4.5 acres of land. It’s close to shopping and turnpike/hwy access but still has the out-in-the-country feel. We have a half acre pond filled with bluegill and large mouth bass, a hillside with apple trees and blackberry bushes, and a large gravel turnaround for easy access. We are close to Cuyahoga Valley National Park as well as multiple metro park areas for hiking and biking. Nearby attractions include Blossom Music Center, downtown Cleveland, and Boulder Creek—an award-winning golf course just minutes away. Wineries, bike trails, and canoe adventures await as well. Heartland Homestead is the perfect spot for you to enjoy away from home and in nature. With dreamy vibes and open skies, you can relax in our tent camping spots around Mother Oak or reserve a glamping cabin for a true unplugged experience - but make it comfy cozy. Depending on the time of year + season, you may see our goats, cows, pigs, chickens, or more! We may have pick-your-own tomatoes, pumpkins, + flowers as well Glamping Cabins We have two glamping cabins that include beds and lanterns so you get the feel of sleeping in nature but comfortably. Each cabin has a picnic table, fire pit, and charcoal grill. One cabin has a queen-size bed and the second has a full-size bed and a trundle bed with 2 twin-size mattresses. The cabins do not have electric or water. A porta-potty is located near the barn (a 5 minute walk) and a lug-able loo or portapotty will be available closer to the cabins depending on when you stay. We are happy to help get your gear back to the cabins with the farm cart and then it is an 8-minute walk along a hay pasture to the parking area. Tent Camping Our tent camping spots are located under Mother Oak, a 100-year-old oak tree in the middle of our farm. With ample shade, a fire pit, and nearby portapotty, you can relax under the stars into the night. Hiking trails weave through the back of the property and you are welcome to explore those as well. Because we are a working homestead and farm, a few things are true: -Sometimes there’s mud. We suggest boots for walking around the property and in the woods. -Our farm animals are great - and may also bite. Please do not pet or chase them. We are happy to arrange opportunities to interact with the animals. Just ask! -Not always, but at times, our neighbors will start farming early in the morning and you can hear their machinery. All of our sites have privacy but are not truly remote. We want you to enjoy yourselves but please be mindful that our house is on the property as well as our neighbors. Music needs to be turned down to a low level by 11 PM. We can accommodate pop-up campers, camper vans, etc near Mother Oak as well. Please message with any questions before reserving. Additional fees would apply. We can also accommodate larger tent camping groups depending on the day. Additional fees would apply. The homestead is located near 58 so you can hear cars during the day and night. The cabins are about a ½ mile from the road so the noise is greatly reduced. Hello, this is 22 acres of no frills undeveloped land with beautiful Arcola Creek that runs into Lake Erie. There's room for an RV or can pitch a tent. Enjoy Arcola Creek Estuary a mile away, bird watching, multiple wineries, covered bridges, Geneva on the Lake or enjoy all day by the creek. There is a perfect spot with a fire pit. (Firewood provided-please leave some for the next camper if early in the week.) There are rough trails in the back where the land was logged. There is not a bridge currently but can be accessed easily when the water level is low. Please limit guests to 6 or less people. Land is not perfectly level. Although neighbors are some distance away I asked that noise levels are low after 10. Facts & History:: Arcola creek runs into an estuary. Its one of the last remaining natural estuaries in Ohio. Steelhead trout spawn and migratory birds find shelter here. The creek was used by Native Americans and the area was instrumental for its role in the Underground Railroad for escaped slaves that boarded ships (at the end of the Dock Rd) on their way to Canada. The town of Ellensburg was built at the junction of Arcola Creek and Lake Erie. It was a thriving community of ship builders, fishermen and commerce. Arcole Iron Works was located south of the mouth of the creek (then called Cunningham Creek after Captain John Cunningham who purchased property there in the early 1800s). Arcole Iron Works was, at one time, the largest industry in Ohio. Bog iron, discovered in Madison Township near North Ridge Road in 1812, and the abundance of timber provided the raw materials for iron furnaces. Iron stoves, kettles, hollowware and other heavy castings were made at the foundry. Everyone is welcome here, let me know ahead of time if there's anything to make your stay more comfortable.
