Hello, this is 22 acres of no-frills undeveloped land with beautiful Arcola Creek that runs into Lake Erie. There's room for an RV or can pitch a tent. Enjoy Arcola Creek Estuary a mile away, bird watching, multiple wineries, covered bridges, Geneva on the Lake or enjoy all day by the creek. There is a perfect spot with a fire pit. (Firewood available for purchase) There are rough trails in the back where the land was logged. There is not a bridge currently but can be accessed easily when the water level is low. Please limit guests to 6 or less people. The land isn’t perfectly level but there are some flat spots for tents. Although neighbors are some distance away, I ask that noise levels are low after 10. ^Please note that there is a camera on the property (not on camp site) for security of my equipment/property when the land is vacant. Camera is rotated out of view after arrival for full privacy of the guests. There is an outhouse with a bucket on the property if needed and flushable toilets a mile north on Dock Rd at Arcola Creek Park (Overlooking Lake Erie). Theres also electric outlets there and under the pavilion. Facts/History: Arcola creek runs into an estuary. It’s one of the last remaining natural estuaries in Ohio. Steelhead trout spawn and migratory birds find shelter here. The creek was used by Native Americans, and the area was instrumental for its role in the Underground Railroad for escaped slaves that boarded ships (at the end of the Dock Rd) on their way to Canada. The town of Ellensburg was built at the junction of Arcola Creek and Lake Erie. It was a thriving community of ship builders, fishermen and commerce. Arcole Iron Works was located south of the mouth of the creek (then called Cunningham Creek after Captain John Cunningham who purchased property there in the early 1800s). Arcole Iron Works was, at one time, the largest industry in Ohio. Bog iron, discovered in Madison Township near North Ridge Road in 1812, and the abundance of timber provided raw materials for iron furnaces. Iron stoves, kettles, hollowware and other heavy castings were made at the foundry. Everyone is welcome here, let me know ahead of time if there's anything to make your stay more comfortable. We adored our time at time at this Hipcamp. The grounds were beautifully kept the creek was lovely. There was definitely a bit of road noise. But it was also nice to be not too far from our cars. We will definitely be back! Craig was awesome and super responsive. Definitely stay here. It’s also close to Geneva on the lake, which is a great little town. And Arcola Creek Park is really nice.

Wonderful site for secluded camping

My girlfriend and I had a blast. The property is absolutely beautiful. All the amenities that we listed were there. The creek is absolutely stunning, and made for a wonderful backdrop to the site. There is plenty of room to set up a tent or RV on the site. As promised, we have the property fully to ourselves. Craig did stop by on Saturday to work on the property for a little while, but was incredibly cordial and didn’t butt in on the site beyond offering us some kindling for the fire. Truly a wonderful experience, and we are already talking about coming back for a longer trip. There is plenty of wildlife on the property, and we saw a variety of birds and American toads. If you are in northeast Ohio or looking to visit, I highly recommend this site. It is also very close to the lake, as well as the Lake Erie Bluffs, which is always a huge plus!

Relaxing and peaceful!

This place is perfect for a peaceful camping experience! It is walking distance to Arcola acres park which was beautifully remodeled and connected by trails to the Estuary. It’s a short drive to different beach fronts and Geneva on the Lake. We picked up fruits and veggies from a farm stand near by and the people around town were all so friendly. I absolutely enjoyed my stay and hope to visit again!

Little slice of seclusion!

Little slice of seclusion not far from all the necessities! We chose to enjoy the piece and quite… sip coffee by the creek, grill over the fire and enjoy being out in nature. But the location is great for wineries, Geneva on the lake , or other nearby parks. We heard no one our entire stay and the dog loved roaming in the stream!

15 ft rooftop tent

The camp site is perfect for tent camping. It has plenty of tree cover to block the wind and sun. It sits right next to a calm flowing stream. The setup is great. There is 2 different fire rings and plenty of wood for purchase. A couple tables and a charcoal grill. Since you cannot get a vehicle into camp itself Craig has provided a nice size cart to bring your stuff. We were able to get our Jeep right next to camp so the haul was short. It’s a very well thought out site. Even has solar lights to mark out path to the outhouse. Site is very close to a lot of activities in the area if you choose to venture out. I highly recommend it

Fun stay creekside

My fiancé and I really enjoyed our stay at this site! Had everything we needed and the creek running next to the site was a thing to have! The host Craig gave us fantastic recommendations and we really enjoyed Arcola Park right down the road. Beautiful Lake Erie sunsets and a fun little beach for rock hunting. Would definitely stay again. Only downside was some road noise, but it was not that disruptive.

A little slice of heaven

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This place is a little slice of heaven. It was perfect! My son and I stayed here for one night and when we showed up we almost couldn't believe how amazing it was. Clean, everything was prepped for us from firewood to potable water and even a citronella candle to keep bugs away. Perfect trees for us to hook up hammocks right next to each other and fall asleep to the sound of the river. Oh and also night time mood lighting. Amazing and will stay here again. Thanks again Craig!

Really wonderful spot along the Arcola Creek - you feel close physically and emotionally to the water, to the estuary, to the lake. So many different wonderful types of birds and the soft babble of the creek and the wonderful tree canopy's soft rustle made for a relaxing soundscape and an enjoyable camping gathering with friends. Craig is very responsive and helpful. Would definitely come back!

This site was everything I ever wanted and more for a peaceful weekend away! The creek was definitely our favorite part, and I love that we had the whole property to ourselves. It was so nice and quiet all night long! Craig was also such a kind and communicative host, and you can tell he puts a lot of care into maintaining the property. There’s a lot to do around the area too, and he provided a super helpful list of what’s nearby. I would highly recommend this site to anyone!!

This spot is so beautiful! We saw so much wildlife. Deer crossing the creek and a bald eagle landed in a tree above our heads. So close to so many fun things to do. We will be back!

Craig was incredibly communicative with us up front, which was reassuring for our first time using Hipcamp! The site was very well kept and being so close to the creek was relaxing. There is some road noise, but nothing too disturbing. All-in-all a great site and a great host. We'll definitely be back!

Highly recommend this spot! Craig was an amazing host and supplied everything we could have needed for a quick getaway. The creek was beautiful and we loved listening to the water at night. Tons of birds and spring peepers on the property too. You could occasionally hear vehicle traffic, but it was not disruptive or too loud since the site is a ways back off the road. If you’re looking for a creek spot close to the lake, this is a must see!

Trickling Creek Get Away

I had a nice hot tent solo camp by the creek. There was wood supplied by Craig in my short notice of booking the site. The site is tucked away on the bank of the creek with plenty of flat areas to pitch a tent and great views and sounds of the creek. I post my stays at Get Livin Outdoors on YouTube. Yes you park close to your truck or car. The site was private and peaceful. I definitely would return again.

We only stayed 1 night but was very peaceful next to the creek and the perfect spot to watch the sunrise. He has a really nice setup with picnic table, chairs around the fire pit, water and even some solar lights, which was a nice surprise.

Relaxing, Scenic, Secluded Spot!

Craig's Hipcamp property was amazing! Had such a great relaxing 2-night stay. Beautiful Fall weather and nice scenic creek and wooded views, lots of wood available too. Craig was a great host, very communicative and accommodating. No issues with road noise, occasional traffic during the day mainly while we were there but nothing that took away from the experience at all. The road was a bit of a distance away and over a small incline, not in direct view of camp area by the creek. You don't feel like you are close to the other houses here on this large acreage, it felt extremely private and secluded. Would definitely recommend this property, I plan on coming back!
