Where to go

Niagara Falls

Often considered the eighth wonder of the world, Niagara campers can explore everything from boat tours to theme parks and water walks. With full hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings, Niagara Falls campgrounds and cottage rentals provide easy resting less than 10 minutes from the action. Outdoor adrenaline chasers can swing above the Niagara Gorge on a high ropes adventure course or soar through the sky on a zipline.

Point Abino Peninsula

Forests, sands, and wetlands inspire exploration at Point Abino Peninsula. With its diverse terrain and waterfront views, Point Abino welcomes campers to adventure through sand dunes, swamps, and tree-covered trails. Featuring the National Historic Point Abino Lighthouse at its tip, history lovers can learn about this early 20th-century fixture that is still active. A short 10 minutes away, Point Abino camping falls within the surrounding campgrounds, cottage rentals, and RV resorts offered in Sherkston.

Fort Erie

Tucked on the southeastern tip of the Niagara Region, Fort Erie is a friendly neighbour to Sherkston and the U.S. border. Boasting beautiful beaches along the Lake Erie shoreline, the town provides campgrounds with full hookups, dry campsites, lodging rentals, and waterfront views. Enjoy a swim at Crescent Beach or wander the walkways of Old Fort Erie Beach Park just moments from historical landmarks. Old Fort Erie features an original fort built in 1764, which played a pivotal role in the War of 1812 and Seven Years’ War.

When to go

Sherkston camping offers action and adventure year-round. Summer weather reaches average highs around 27°C bringing sunshine and warmth. Late spring to early fall is perfect for campfires, tenting, and water sports. Heat and moisture from Lake Erie do provide the perfect playground for bugs—spray and protective clothing is a must.
