Uxbridge Igloo

Your own private getaway with a private lake, sauna, forest, trails, wildlife and plenty of places to explore. When hungry, take in the local eateries, wineries, cideries and the trail capital of canada for mountain biking, hiking or walking. In the winter, skate on our private lake or hit the slopes at lake ridge ski or dagmar. 

Meanwhile Farm

Family run blueberry farm just outside of Newmarket Ontario. We have 3 private, unserviced, grass campsites for tents or pop ups and we park RVs on the front grass. Outdoor shower and bathroom facilities. Communal fireplace, with perimeter walking trails. Feed the donkeys, goat, chickens, ducks and fish and freshen up for tomorrow's adventure! 

5 minutes to restaurants, groceries, gas and 2 golf courses.

We had an amazing time at Meanwhile Farm! Scott and Lisa are such great host and they made our experince super pleasent!   It was home away from home for us! :)

Georgian Bay Getaway!

Situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 5 minutes of paddling the Nottawasaga River, 10 minutes to hiking the Bruce, 5 minutes to the world's largest freshwater beach, and within 30 minutes of cycling, amazing motorcycle routes, rock climbing, caving, geocaching, cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Georgian Bay area has to offer  

We have 100 acres of forest and field. Choose from either two tent sites that are set amidst the forest,  close to a babbling creek that runs through the property or 2 bunkies for more of a glamping experience. 

There are two outdoor camping toilets on-site.

Campfires are permitted (within local regulation) in the fire-pits provided.  Well-behaved pets on leash are welcome. 

We ask that you Leave no trace and bring out what you bring in.

CAMP SITE
The campsite is located on a lot nestled in trees approximately 1 hour from Toronto. 

LAKE
Canal Lake is a lake of Ontario, Canada, situated in the City of Kawartha Lakes. 

HISTORIC MONUMENTS
The "Hole in the Wall" bridge was built in 1905 and is also known as the Canal Lake Concrete Arch Bridge. It was designed by the federal Department of Railways and Canals. It is located on Centennial Park Road on the southwest side of the Trent Severn Waterway bridge, northeast of Bolsover. The bridge was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988. 

FISHING
Canal Lake is a medium size lake with a large diversity of fishing spots. There is a variety of fish available including largemouth bass, pike and muskellunge (muskie) and an abundance of panfish.

• Bolsover is home to the Western Trent Golf Club 
• Check out Bexley Golf Centre just west of Coboconk & Balsam Lake Provincial Park. They are a Butter Tart Tour stop! 
•  And we all know how delicious Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream is in the summer sun!

Cedar Creek Forest Camping

Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. 

I have 97 acres of very private camping.  The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. 

The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. 

Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. 

My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly),  and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. 

The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.

Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

He's built in so many beautiful nature elements, including this pond which also has a well-groomed path around for walking.

Inside the Yurtle is very cozy, but there's still plenty of room to stand, stretch and look outside.
