Very close to all the great stuff available at this part of Bruce peninsula. We share our backyard with our guests, we are very close to everything that Bruce county has to offer, port Elgin, Southampton, golf courses, different accesses to saugeen river where u can go fishing canoeing, tubing etc., supermarkets, native reserve, sauble beach and dozens of other ones…all at max 15 minutes distance… in the property you will find everything u need for a peaceful stay, hard to describe everything you will find but u can read our reviews, some of them have beautiful descriptions of what is here for you, you must love animals, since we have our pets all around, u are also super welcome to bring yours. One of the high points of here is the interaction u will have with the pets, they are all super friendly and will play with u every time they see u, they believe u r here for them, between, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc they will be part of your stay, this is theyr home, u r theyr guests, that’s how they think, so u must be a pet lover. We had a great time there. Pedro is very welcoming. He prepared the firepit in advance. The hot tub is amazing! The shred is cozy and warm. Just make sure to bring your own kettle if you need hot water to make tea.

Beautiful location. We enjoyed staying at Lana's cottage. Close to a beach access and some beautiful provincial parks. Enjoyed that everything we needed was there. Loved the fires in the back yard. Great place to make special memories with our friends and family!

Super friendly Pedro was a fountain of knowledge and helpfulness upon our arrival. Pleasant relaxing night spent with 2 fur babies who had the time of their lives. Relaxing Hottub and an amazing fire & movie night. 15 min away from the beach and amazing restaurants. would highly recommend. Pedro even suggested a dog-friendly beach that was close by!

There were more amenities in the Bunkie than expected (toaster, coffee maker, microwave, dishes, small fridge, AC and heater and more). Weekend Trip to Maitland River Campground

I’ve have come to Cardinals Nest twice and both times I have loved it. The cabin is beautiful and spacious, and hosts have all basic amenities you need in it. They also have started adding water jugs to the cabin which was super helpful. There is a nice stream for puppers to play in and a ton of room to roam/ hike. Cabins are spread out so you don’t feel cramped. Very highly suggest !

We had such a beautiful and peaceful stay at Pedro’s place , the perfect setting for our romantic getaway. From the moment we arrived, Pedro was warm, friendly, and truly caring, making us feel right at home. His place is surrounded by a calm and serene atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease. One of the highlights was meeting his four adorable dogs, each one so friendly and cute. They made our stay even more special and heartwarming. We had an amazing weekend at the bunkie! Although the river was too shallow for swimming, it was such a beautiful view and the sound of the flowing water was so soothing to hear all day and night. Paula and her husband were wonderful hosts. It was super convenient that they had a little store and restaurant less than a two minute walk from the bunkie. We would definitely go back!

This place is beautiful. Cozy temperature controlled cabin with a mini fridge. I had a steamy outdoor shower under the stars that was magnificent. Pedro is an exceptional host. I booked with him after 5pm the day of my stay and it was still perfect. 5/5 I couldn't ask for anything more.

A true hidden gem! My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay in Paula’s bunkie. Falling asleep to the sound of the river and waking up to birds chirping was incredibly peaceful. The clear skies, the quiet, and the lack of highway noise made it feel like a true escape. We spent our days cooling off in the crystal-clear river and our evenings around the fire, soaking in the natural beauty. One day, we had to get some work done, and were grateful for the WiFi and the chance to work from their beautiful patio overlooking the property. Compared to other campgrounds we’ve visited, the level of care here is unmatched. Paula and Dave checked in on us, made sure we had everything we needed, and clearly pour their hearts into this place. It felt more like a boutique resort than camping. The bunkie was spotless and cozy, with a Keurig, toaster oven, full fridge/freezer, and a BBQ. The shared washrooms and showers were also very clean and well-maintained. We loved the on-site bistro (open Wednesday–Sunday), with delicious meals made by Paula herself. One night, there was even live music on the patio. Their little store also has a few essentials if you forget anything. They mentioned plans to expand the bunkie with its own toilet, build a second one, among other improvements. We can’t wait to come back. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-run place to unplug—this is it!

Weekend Trip to Cozy Lake Huron Cottage

Our 3 night stay at the cottage was very peaceful and relaxing, just what we needed. Our adult children and their spouses also joined us to make it a special birthday for their mother. Our dogs also got to enjoy the walks and outdoors. The water was low, so we only walked there once, but very wonderful Lake Huron sunsets. Twenty 20 minute drive to Kincardine to enjoy a dip in the water. Lana’s Cottage had everything we needed just bring your food, drinks and enjoy. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.
