Your campsite and cabin(s) are nestled a half-km from our home, along a driveable path to the site, as long as the road is clear of ice and snow.
You will have total privacy for you and your guests and yours will be the only rental while you are here!
There is a main cabin that is set up for two people that comes with your rental.
There is also tons of mowed space for other guests to camp, included in the initial booking price, or, if they choose, they can rent our sleep cabin that has room for up to 7 more to sleep in a bed in a cozy cabin. We are happy to host large, friend and family gatherings.
There is an outdoor shower, outdoor games, three hard-topped gazebos, hammocks, scenic walks, a large fire pit with plenty of seating, picnic tables, and more!
Our goal is to provide a cozy, private, get-away for people who want to be able to pack a few clothes, some bug-spray/sunblock, some food, and head off to the woods. We have tried to think of everything you might need so you don't have to!

A creek runs through our unspoiled paradise, and you can cross the private bridge to explore the creek banks. Pets are welcome. Situated on a rocky peak overlooking Buck Lake (30 minutes north of Kingston, Ontario), the cabin is surrounded by forest on three sides, and has a terrific lake view from the front deck. Features include a loft with a queen bed, Wifi, soapstone propane heater, fridge, induction cooktop, kitchen sink, futon couch and a sheltered outdoor sitting area with barbeque and outdoor sink.
The cabin is situated on 11 forested acres with 400 feet of shoreline and its own private bay, KOTP offers the perfect area for recreation: swimming, forest-bathing, messing around in small boats, spectacular sunsets on the deck.
In the vicinity are great areas for hiking, canoeing, biking, and discovering the attractions of the Rideau canal system and the watersheds that feed it. There is excellent local food shopping in the area, and attractive small villages offer unique shopping opportunities.
To get to the cabin involves a climbing 30 woodland steps up the back of the hill, and following a 200 meter path. As a quasi-off-grid tiny house, KOTP has AC power available to run the fridge, induction cooktop, other appliances and your computer. Solar power and a backup generator are also available if needed. The lights and the water pumps are 12v. The interior sink serves drinking water from 5 gallon jugs refilled from our filtered water supply at the nearby house.
KOTP has a gorgeous soapstone propane heater that provides a great ambiance and comfort if the weather gets damp or chilly. On the deck outside is a propane barbeque and an outdoor sink that is fed from a 50 gallon rain barrel. We use this to do the dishes outside. The rain barrel also feeds an outdoor shower. The toilet is a composting unit that lives in the shed at the back of the cabin.
A rustic path leads to the waterfront which is shared with the other cottage on the property. The waterfront features a large shallow sandy swimming area, a spacious floating dock, and access to various small watercraft including kayaks, canoes, rowboats, and Sunfish sailboats.

Camping on Paul's property for the night was breathtaking. Being able to camp in a quiet, secluded area backing onto a beautiful creek was exactly what I needed.
Paul was super friendly and welcoming. He showed us where the site was and even offered the cabin for us to sleep in. Plenty of wood was provided.
I highly recommend this place - it's perfect!

My husband and I came here for our first wedding anniversary. We had an amazing time! Choleena and Larry were the perfect hosts- super helpful, non-intrusive and even told us we could check out at anytime on our last day. The cabin was also great, very clean and well taken care of. Super close to Perth which is a very charming town. We would certainly love to return!

Weekend Trip to Glamping - Intimate Cabin & Campsites
This weekend was absolutely one of the most enjoyable weekends of my summer. It was so nice to unplug, Choleena & Larry ordered and set up an alternative to being able to have a fire during the ban, which was amazing, and it was so private and peaceful. I feel very refreshed and we certainly discussed coming back in the winter to further enjoy what the land has to offer. Not the mention the hosts are very thoughtful and ready to help. This was our third time here this season and we love it so much we booked another trip next month! Sitting by the river with our coffee and a book has become our new favourite way to unwind after a busy week. Our kids love being able to swim and paddle board right off the site, and they are still in direct sight line!
Plenty of space to set up multiple tents, and the dining shelter came in handy on a wet morning. Tons of shade but some sunny spots, too, ideal mix of spaces.
There is a bit of poison ivy around the edges of the site so take a peek around to make sure you know where it is.
This has quickly become our favourite family get away and we will be coming back again and again!

We stayed for 3 nights at this beautifully maintained site that had everything we needed: picnic table, fire pit, dock with chairs, and a paddle boat! The road wasn’t too busy, the area was quiet, and the water was the perfect temperature! It was a bit awkward fitting our 26ft trailer in through the trees but we made it work with where it was. We will definitely book again!

Camping close to Sheridan Rapids was alot of fun. Great swimming near the bridge. The lazy river float was super fun - if the water levels were a bit higher it woulda been perfect. Walk to the water was a bit longer than expected, but still less than 10 minutes along a quiet road. Ryan was responsive and helpful. Thanks again!

We had a perfect stay! The campsite is very well maintained, with plenty of shade and direct access to the river for swimming. The pitches are spacious and the whole place feels peaceful and welcoming. Truly a top-notch spot — we’ll definitely be coming back!

Our second time here and it definitely didn't disappoint. Don's place is amazing. The river was just the right temperature, the wild life was everywhere, caught lots of fish, lost a lot of fish but that's fishing. Lol. This is one of our favorite spots to come. Absolutely privacy. We will be back next year for sure. Thanks Don for another unforgettable camping trip.

We loved our stay apart from the fact that it was very very hot du ring out trip, small curtains in the Windows would definitely help! If we had known, we would have brought something to put in the windows to block the Sun to enter, escpecially in the morning. Everything was clean and there is everything you need for your stay. It's a great peaceful place to enjoy and relax. We appreciated being able to go to the two nearby national parks, Silver Lake and Sharbot Lake. The owners are kind and accessible. Thank you for all, you have a wonderfull place!!! 🥰

The dogs and I had a wonderful stay at the private site on the water!
The signs into site were very easy to follow with lots of space to park and turn my large suv around.
The outhouse is close to camp but also offers privacy.
The site has a few places where tents can be pitched. Theres two ropes for clothes lines as well as a covered picnic table.
In the dining area there is also a homemade cabinet with locks.
The water has a small current but was very enjoyable to swim in and not cold this time of year.
There is multiple size grills to cook over the fire and three muskoka chairs a small table and additional plastic chair.
There is a small loop that you can walk to do something on the property. It is secluded to your site as the other ones aren't on the loop path.
We look forward to booking again! Don was very easy to connect with and ask any questions with fast replies.

This was a great experience. Choleena and Larry were wonderful. The site is fully equipped so that it provides a full outdoor camping out feeling with all the comfort of cabin living. Site was clean and well organized and we had so much fun. Cooking, lounging and star gazing by the fire is a true relaxation. Would highly recommend.

Lovely private tent spot by the Tay river.
Don created a little piece of paradise for folks to unwind, paddle, fish, watch Blue Herons, turtles, beavers, waterfowl, birds, fire flies… you name it. Had two great days at the Stewart Park Festival (5 min drive to downtown Perth) and breathtaking morning paddles on the Tay.
Bring mosquito repellent.

3 nights at Glamping - Intimate Cabin & Campsites
Exactly what we were looking for. Very private. The cabin/bed area was perfect for the two of us. Wooden bundles were already ready for us at the fire pit. Had a covered area to sit at while it rained and we played some games there. Bbq and stove are perfect to cook with. We had a perfect few days at the cabin. Host are very kind and have thought of everything you need and it’s all available for use in the cabin. We will be back.
