Fifthwind farm is located high on a hilltop in Northumberland county. Our farm is only 10 minutes north of Cobourg yet feels tranquil and remote. The view is spectacular…on a clear day New York State is visible.
Our Bunkie is fully insulated and cozy on cold winter nights. The Northumberland Forest is quite close and it offers many cross-country ski trails.
Because of the cold weather, our outdoor shower it’s not operable during the winter months. The Bunkie does not have running water, but water is provided, and the sink can still be used.
There is a large bonfire area on our farm, (a little bit away from the Bunkie) also a play area for kids including zip line, boat structure, sand box, swing, above ground pool and trampoline; gorgeous circular organic garden with seating area and a small orchard. Foragers Farms is a thriving community of kindred spirits interweaving our love for the land to produce beautiful fruits, eggs and veggies for the surrounding area. If you’re looking for a place with a nice feel and good buzz this is it! Alternatively stay the weekend where the hustle and bustle comes to a halt and become immersed in nature with access to trails and open fields are awaiting you!
Animals are welcome but keep in mind this is a farm and there are animals who also live here. Goats, horses, chickens and dogs. Please keep your animal on a leash when not supervised or going for walks around the farm.
The cabins are meant for those wanting to turn off their phones and delve deep into relaxation. Bring a book, star gaze, sun bathe, meditate or pull out the laptop and plug into to electrical and wifi to get the job done.

- We have two cabins both nearby one another. One is a double bed and the other has two single beds with all bedding provided
- Access to a clean compost toilet/portopotty. Toilet paper provided.
- Nearby the portopotty is a hand washing station which is also where you can wash any dishes you might need to.
- Drinking water from a beautiful well (from the hydrant near the porto potty)
- Internet is available. Ask when you've been booked!

The cabins are meant for those wanting to turn off their phones and delve deep into relaxation. Bring a book, star gaze, sun bathe, meditate or pull out the laptop and plug into to electrical and wifi to get the job done.

Our property has 2 camping cabins located on 40 acres across the road from a beautiful waterfall. Each rental has its own private outhouse, picnic table, campfire pit and solar power. There are marked walking trails on the property and at nearby conservation areas. Natalie and Seth's barn was overall a great experience! We enjoyed all the extras that were provided to us: entertainment system, well stocked kitchen, etc. The art pieces were also a nice addition too. We all slept great and warm. Our only complaint would be that the toilet smell was a little difficult to tame for us. The sawdust helped a bit but still had a faint smell in the downstairs living space so we had to vent out the barn every few hours to get some fresh air. Hope to come back soon! Weekend Trip to Fifthwind
Highly recommended trip with Henry and his funky bunkie! I love every single minute in it. Very clean place, they provide everything you need. Just bring food. Henry is very friendly and intelligent, this bunkie he built is filled with of characters. It’ll be better if the fire pit was closer to the bunkie. It’s definitely a great place for couples and small families to spend some wonderful time at the farm.

Weekend Trip to Fifthwind
We arrived the on the holiday weekend for Thanksgiving and we were fortunate enough to get the Bunkie for an evening unrelatively short notice through HipCamp. The girlfriend and I wanted a small getaway even though we lived within 2 hours of the funky Bunkie.
It was unfortunately raining and not very nice weather that evening. My girlfriend and I settled in made ourselves comfortable and we quite enjoyed our secluded getaway. A couple of times the stars broke out in the evening and it was a beautiful sight.
That being said, Henry, the host give us a tour throughout his amazing property. If anybody who reads this post to the fullest, you will meet the "Doc Brown" of environmental building. What he's done with what he outsourced and is pretty mind-blowing at a construction standpoint. If you're into the stuff, Henry ia enthusiastic to share his creations. :)
Henry and his wife have been amazing hosts and looking for ward to visiting again.

The camping site was so beautiful and cozy. They have some animals and organic vegetables in their farm. They gave us welcome gifts as fresh eggs and tomatoes. That was very cute gifts. It’s gonna be little hard to shower tho since it’s outdoor shower booth. They have everything setup for cook so you don’t need to bring the kitchen stuffs. Overall, I’d love to come back but maybe when it’s warmer.

What a cute little getaway. The hosts were amazing and easy to contact if we needed anything. Lots of room for our husky to run and play. I would love to bring our grandson up with us next time.
Inside the cabin is beautiful and also very spacious. Even when it was raining we all had a great time playing a few games of pool. The best was relaxing with the family around the fire pit.

My partner and I stayed on Emma's land and really enjoyed our stay. The animals added a fun element to the camping that made it a unique experience. Also, having a nearby kitchenette was helpful for on sight cooking. We enjoyed many things about the property, and location of it too. This is a great place to stay with kids and family and I would love to stay there again in the future!

It’s a kid’s paradise—highly recommended for families with young children. You can enjoy the pool, sandbox, and hammock, or roast marshmallows around their beautiful campfire.
There’s even a zipline just for kids! We visited in the summer, and the little ones had a blast picking vegetables in the stunning garden. And of course, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.

We really enjoyed our stay. Henry and Johanna were great hosts and gave us an extensive tour of their farm, garden and sustainable-building projects. Cooling off in their above-ground pool, while admiring the pollinator garden was a real treat. My main goal was to photograph the night sky with a small telescope. The Funkie Bunkie is simple, but clean and comfortable. There is no A/C, so the upper bunk can be a little warm during a heatwave, but fan and windows made it comfortable. A great place to enjoy the night sky and the nearby trails.

We loved our stay in this unique, pentagon-shaped cottage. The kids loved it! We had three kids and 3 dogs with us and all had lots of room to play, eat and sleep comfortably.
The driveway is pretty steep leading up to the cottage and there are a number of steps leading from the driveway to the door so be prepared to get your steps in!
We stayed during a heat wave and the air conditioner kept the entire main floor and lower level very cool and comfortable.
There were a number of tv's though we didn't use them as we wanted an unplugged week away.
The office downstairs was the perfect spot for my husband to sit and work virtually when he had to on his computer he brought.
The cottage is very close to the LCBO, grocery store, trails and beach which was very convenient.
My brothers, my husband, sister-in law and myself enjoyed playing pools together downstairs after the kids went to bed.
We brought a kiddie pool which was easy to set-up under the top deck and fill with a hose nearby and the firepit area was used almost every night.
Kaniyan was very prompt and helpful in responding to my emails and WhatsAPP messages when we had questions.
I'm sure we will be staying there again!

Weekend Trip to Fifthwind
It is located on a slightly higher hill than the surrounding area, so it is peaceful and beautiful to watch the sunrise and sunset.
The owner was kind and always ready to listen to the guests.
The kids roasted marshmallows and had fun chatting at the campfire prepared for us.
Above all, the beautiful constellations in the pitch-black night sky were the highlight of the camping.
The kids were amazed and ~ it made the place even more special.
It was a pity that we couldn't see the beautiful garden near the host because it wasn't full spring, but I hope we'll have the chance next time.
The accommodation is spacious and cozy enough for 3 people. When we went, it was a little windy and cool in the morning and evening, but it was well insulated, so it wasn't cold even without the heater on.
In particular, the bathroom was located right next to the accommodation, and it was clean and well-maintained so that there was no smell.
We didn't use the shower room that was guided, but if you go camping in the summer, you can wash and use it comfortably. Additionally, electricity, Wi-Fi, and various kitchen facilities provide convenience during the camping period.

Where to go
Presqu’ile Provincial Park
Presqu’ile Provincial Park has fantastic beaches (including the popular Salt Point Beach), pristine wetlands, and lush forests. As such, it’s an excellent spot for hiking, swimming, fishing, and birdwatching. The Marsh Trail, in particular, is a prime location for birdwatching. Photographers will want to check out the historic lighthouses scattered around the park’s shores.
Sandbanks Provincial Park
Sandbanks is one of the province’s largest and most popular parks, famous for its expansive namesake sandy beaches. It’s an excellent spot for windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding. Camping options include multiple campgrounds with RV spaces, two large group camping spots, and cottages. The nearby communities are well known for their art galleries and antiques shops, and the surrounding area is home to many wineries.
Cricklewood Farm
Plenty of outdoor, family-friendly fun awaits at this local landmark. Cricklewood Farm is a fifth-generation operation located just outside of Brighton. The site is a combination of a working farm and a play zone, offering a corn maze, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, and market stand, plus pick-your-own raspberries, pumpkins, and squash.
When to go
Sandbanks and Presqu’ile provincial parks, two of the main attractions in the region around Brighton, are open year-round, but full services are only offered from late April to late October. Canada Day weekend is popular at both locations, and summer campsites at Sandbanks often sell out when reservations are opened five months in advance. In Brighton itself, the annual Applefest takes place in September and features live music, a parade, rides, and delicious food.
