Wow the pictures looked good but being there was a whole other kind of beauty. The spot is tranquil and perfect, Karen and Ben have everything you could possibly need! The cabin was nice and cozy at night and the view of the stars is incredible! Definitely already planning a return trip!

Weekend Trip to Ingomar Oceanfront Camping
The site was lovely, right next to the sea with a beautiful view. The tent has everything you need, to cook, a bbq outside and heat plate inside, the gaz is included and there's solar powered lamp in the tent above on the table to cook inside. We just used our own French press to make coffee in the morning but that's about it !
The bed is lovely, there is an extra mattress for a third person. The site very quiet and we slept like babies.

I loved my time at the bell tent. The view from the bed facing the screen door is beautiful and listening to the sound of the waves on the shore lulls you to sleep.
There are enough amenities to be comfortable but it is rustic enough that you still have the simplicity of camping. A perfect combination for someone my age.
The host is friendly and very accommodating. Many lovely beaches and sites to see within close driving distance. I would love to go back sometime!

Owl's Hollow is the perfect place for a getaway - Karen and Ben have truly thought about everything! In the Hut there was a book about forest bathing, and their property is truly the epitome of it - peaceful, serene and therapeutic. The beautiful views, steps from access to the lake and the added conveniences (chairs, structures, water, etc.) is unbeatable. Karen was quick to respond, kind and very accommodating. Looking forward to coming back!

If you want a totally awesome camping experience on your road trip around Nova Scotia then you need to stop here for the night. The bell tent is tucked away in the forest and has everything you need to have a great night. There’s a little stove to cook dinner on, a nice fire pit (when there is no fire ban on), and a beautiful view of the ocean, it’s a very windy area but adds to the seaside camping experience. Totally affordable and punches way above its price, very friendly owner who directed us to the camp upon arrival. It would be a mistake to miss this place on your way through.

Site 2 is next to the local public boat launch which allowed for easy access to walk along the rocky and sandy shore. This site is easily accessible with a large circular tent. This site is available to have fully stocked for necessary amenities (kitchen) which we took full advantage of a s buying and lugging around all that camping gear can be pricy and tiresome. Other than exploring along the water front there is a hammock! That alone is a wonderful feature. The bed is firm and the bedding clean with extra bedding if needed. The site is partially shaded which helps keep the site comfortable. The surrounding areas are quiet and being near the water allowed for a beautiful view

Weekend Trip to Best Kept Seacret
After a brief 2-3walk in to the forest, amongst the trees and rocks lies on a raised platform a beautiful tent with an amazingly soft bed. There is a kitchen area well stocked with the necessary amenities. The surrounding land is rich with moss, ferns and trees with the sounds of birds heard from the tree tops. Once settled, the peacefulness is appreciate and the quiet during sleep is a welcome sound.
Having a full stocked camp is a welcome addition to those that perhaps cannot travel with much and for those that do not want to lug it all around with them.
A truly beautiful gem tucked away in the woods.

If you’re looking for someone to get away and be purely immersed in nature, this is the spot. It was so peaceful for myself, my partner and our 2 dogs. The road getting to the cabin made us a little worried about getting there as it’s very narrow, windy and gravel, but we are so glad we did it. Karen, the host, had everything we needed there, from roasting sticks, to camp cots. We got out in the canoe and swam around the very peaceful lake. Even though there was people staying at the other accommodations there, they were far away and we had lots of privacy. Thank you again for everything and we will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Best Kept Seacret
Great place - in all kinds of weather! The tent is very spacious and the bed was much more comfortable than expected.
My stay included a rainy, cold and windy day and the tent stayed warm and dry and was a cozy space to lounge with a book until the weather cleared. Once the sun came out, the deck and the bench by the water were great hangouts, and the surrounding woods made the space feel private and calming. Location is convenient to supplies and great beaches. Erik was a very responsive, accomodating and helpful host.

Had an amazing time at Owls Hollow! The spot is incredibly scenic and quiet with very few surrounding cottages. Would highly recommend taking out the boats and exploring the rest of the lake. Directions and signage is very clear, had no problem getting there or finding anything once arrived. Would highly recommend this wonderful spot!

1 night at Best Kept Seacret
Camping on Erik’s land was an absolute delight! Erik is a fantastic host—extremely communicative, accommodating, and a pleasure to chat with in person.
The campsite itself is a gem, nestled in a serene forest clearing. The centerpiece is a well-crafted setup: a spacious canvas tent stretched over a sturdy wooden frame, complete with a firewood stove, chimney, and fireproof flooring that doubles as insulation. Nearby, there’s a convenient outhouse and a fully equipped cooking station, stocked with pans, tools, and a small gas stove.
At night, the magic truly comes alive. The minimal light pollution allows for breathtaking views of the night sky, and the peaceful atmosphere is broken only by the occasional rustle of wildlife or the whisper of the wind—no road noise, just nature at its finest.
We camped in December, braving temperatures that dropped to -10°C. Thanks to the stove, we stayed incredibly cozy, even shedding extra layers as the warmth filled the tent.
The site is about a 2-3 minute hike from the parking area, which is manageable as long as you pack in bags instead of bulky totes.
This was an amazing experience, and we’re already planning our next visit. Highly recommend! Thank you, Erik, for such a memorable stay!
