A porta- potti and electricity are in place and running water will be available in late August. Located near the village of Cleveland and off Evanston Road. (Not sure why HC states it is near Antigonish?) Great fishing and kayaking but be mindful of the tides. Located nearby is a ranger tower to view the area and the stars above. Best to get all your supplies in Port Hawkesbury if u are just arriving on Cape Breton. Strait Richmond Hospital. is 10 min. away if needed. Please be mindful of our garden and young fruit trees. Please pack out all of you garbage as we do not have local garbage pickup... garbage can be disposed of in local towns. The town of Louisdale offers free potable water and dump station (located next to Babins Yamaha).

Chris was a great host! He greeted us at the campsite on a rainy November night and had made sure to have a roaring fire for us when we got there despite all the rain! The views from The Point in the morning were beautiful - perfect spot to enjoy coffee & breakfast in the sun. Chris came to check in on us in the morning to make sure we had everything we needed.

This is an exceptional spot for off-grid camping. It is peaceful, secluded and with an amazing view across the river. Chris is a friendly host, with whom we had a great chat and learned about his family history on the land. Highly recommended!

Weekend Trip to Wild Islands Camping by the Sea
From the moment we arrived at Chris’s land we felt very welcomed. Chris was onsite to greet us and show us the camping area. The camp is a work in progress so no high-tech fancy camping facilities, but if your aim is to lay back, relax and leave the daily grind behind this is your place. The campsites are along the shore and at low tide a great walk. Our site enjoyed a beautiful sunrise and after a full day of exploring the area we took our camp chairs to the shoreline to watch the magnificent sunset over the water. The camp is 30 mins from groceries and gas. Chris allows dogs to roam off leash and our pup loved the freedom. Chris and his mom Gail check in with you daily to talk and answer your questions and they go out if their way to help make your stay comfortable. We booked for one night and immediately booked a second night. We ended up spending 5 nights. Thank you Chris and Gail Patricia, Tim and Luna

The point of the point is the view, as there is no cell service [though they do hope to remedy that issue], and no washrooms. That said Chris and his mother were wonderful and hospitable. The view is jaw dropping, and that alone is worth the stay. Also an amazing place to get away from everything.

The Lobster Boat has been one of our highlight of our trip around Nova Scotia! David took great care welcoming us in his unique place he built and we had a great time exploring the space. It is a peaceful place, yet pretty close to Antigonish city with all the amenities. Bonus point for being pet friendly!

It is a beautiful place on the edge of the ocean! Definitely worth stopping on your eastern shore road trip. We had 3 tents and all found flat spots. Burn ban was in effect but no big deal because the night sky was lit up. Minimal light pollution here.

1 night at Wild Islands Camping by the Sea
We had an amazing camping experience here! The spot was peaceful and surrounded by nature, with direct access to the water. The off-leash area for our dog was a huge bonus; she had the time of her life running free and playing by the shore. Chris was incredibly thoughtful and friendly, making us feel truly welcome. A beautiful, quiet escape we’ll definitely return to.

Weekend Trip to Our Happy Place Campground & Cabins
This camp ground was so cute and just what we needed! It had beautiful, spacious views and the host were absolutely awesome! The sites were close to the ferry to go across to PEI and downtown Pictou but still managed to feel like we were secluded for peace and quite! We were able to go on day adventures and come back to relax at our site to unwind and relax. Will definitely be coming back again!

Amazing camping spot right on the water! Chris, the host, was very helpful and accommodating. We forgot some of our camping supplies and Chris immediately went back home and brought them to us. Fresh eggs too! We stayed at the Point camping spot which was absolutely beautiful. Chris supplies a canoe which we used often to navigate around the islands. Couldn’t recommend this spot more highly. Thanks Chris!

Paul’s farm was the perfect place to spend the night. The views of surrounding farms and rolling fields were beautiful and the dark night sky with full moon and complete quiet were very nourishing. We would love the chance to stay again next time we’re in Mabou.

This is my new favorite hipcamp to stay, 9.9 out of 10 because i couldn't find a toothpick, jokes. I had to leave early the next evening family emergency but by far the most peaceful sleep we both ever had, and remember to put some sandpaper foot slip grip on shower floor or jack it up level David brother, be well captain, could put a stocked trout pond beside her to be cooler, trucker joke, be well my friend, this ment the world to us and my friend more than you think. we will be visiting again forsure 10-4 houndog over and out
