Farm stays near Revelstoke

·
In the Selkirk Mountains of central British Columbia, midway between the Canadian Rockies and the Pacific Coast, Revelstoke is a popular road-trippers’ stopover and gateway to two national parks. Mount Revelstoke National Park is just outside town, and Glacier (not to be confused with the US national park of the same name) climbs into the jagged peaks 15 kilometres to the east. Both parks have summer camping areas accommodating tenting and RV campers, and commercial campgrounds and RV parks around Revelstoke give campers more options. A 10-minute drive from town, Revelstoke Mountain Resort attracts skiers and boarders in winter, while hiking and mountain biking are draws in the warmer months.

Come discover our peaceful farm sanctuary located in Ashton Creek, 10 minutes east of Enderby. Experience the famous Shuswap River "float" which is only a 5 minute walk to the Baxter bridge boat launch, park and community hall. The Ashton Creek convenience store and gas station has all your basic camping needs including ATV gas and propane (also a 5 minute walk). Access to hiking trails including a unique water fall nearby. Mabel Lake Resort, boat launch and Golf Club is a short 20 minute drive. Camping at Olich Creek Farm is unique and family friendly. Most of our rescued farm animals roam the property freely and absolutely love human visitors. Families with children will also enjoy the natural play areas the farm offers including a shallow creek and visits with our chickens and ducks. Your dogs or other small pets are permitted in the camping areas only as our herd is terrified of dogs. There is another large area (about 5 acres) where well-behaved dogs can run off leash. We have one RV site with septic, water and 50 Amp power and can fit a 40 foot unit and 2 totally private tent sites. There is a full washroom with tub/shower, toilet and wifi access in our old farmhouse which is complimentary during your stay. Should you find that your desired dates are already booked, please reach out to us as we may have a back up spot available. Please keep in mind we are an organic farm homestead that offers an agritourism experience. We are not a manicured campground :) Your camping fees go directly to support our aging farm animals and horses.

Farm stays near Revelstoke guide

When to go

July through early October are the best months for a Revelstoke camping adventure. Snow can linger in the mountains through June and can start again in October. The Meadows in the Sky Parkway in Mount Revelstoke National Park is usually open from June into October, although the summit area has a shorter season – generally mid-July through September. Revelstoke is busiest in July-August and during the winter, when you can ski from late November into April.

Know before you go

  • Keep your gas tank topped up when you’re driving through this BC region. There are no gas stations or other services on Highway 1 between Revelstoke and the town of Golden, 150 kilometres to the east on the other side of Glacier National Park.
  • If you’re traveling east toward Revelstoke from Vancouver, the city of Kamloops, along Highway 1, is a good place to stop for supplies, with big box stores, gear sellers, and local shops.
  • Revelstoke itself has several outdoor gear shops, grocery stores, and several fun cafes, where you can pick up coffee, baked goods, sandwiches, and other snacks.
