Description

When you’re surrounded by three mountains referred to as the Triple Ridge Area, you better bet there’s going to be some killer hiking. Within five miles of Wickiup Campground, you have your pick of trails in the Jones, Huckleberry and Hogback Ridges. Closer to camp--just 100 yards below--are cold water springs, and only slightly farther, fishing in Ranger Creek. And while you will be burning calories with all the hiking options, you won’t be burning any money, because Wickiup is absolutely free. Check website for closures. Tip: Bring enough water to stay hydrated on the hikes and back at camp, because there’s no potable water on-site.
