Sandalwood Downs Toodyay operates as a farm stay and has been in high demand for several years now. After years of traveller's requesting caravan and tents sites, Marc and Jane are excited to announce as of March 2024 we now offering 11 caravan/camping/tent sites.
With only 11 unpowered sites spread out over 100 acres, you are guaranteed privacy for you and your family and friends.
3 clean instant portable toilets.
A refreshing cold bush shower is available on site.
The farm also features a fantastic communal area for fellow traveller's to meet, chat, have a few drinks, sit by the amazing fire pit (during winter months), have a BBQ.
The farm features many beautiful hand raised farm animals such as, camels, cows, miniature goats, donkeys, alpacas, lambs, deer, a pig, emus, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowls, geese, rabbits, chooks and peacocks.
Spend some time strolling the stunning walk trails and taking in the amazing views on the property,

-The property is only 45 minutes from Midland and 7 minutes from the wonderful town of Toodyay.
RULES AND GUILDELINES.
While staying at Sandalwood Downs we would like all visitors to understand and accept the guidelines and rules, which are in place for everybody’s happiness, comfort and safety.
YOUR FAMILIES SAFELY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US:
- No bikes sorry. As we are a farm we do not have bike trails or paths. The paddocks are uneven terrain with incline and decline and are not safe for riding.
- No yelling or squealing in the communal / play ground area. This area is for everybody's enjoyment. If your children are yelling and squealing you will all be asked to leave the communal area.
- Please supervise your children at ALL times, this is for their safety. Children are not allowed to roam free around the farm without adults. Please ensure your children do not yell, squeal or run whilst around the animals.
-Children must be supervised in the communal playground area, The playground is closed for use at 6.pm.
- No lighting of campfires. Local Shire and DEFES have very strong rules regarding this, and if lighting of a fire occurs people will be prosecuted by DEFES and the local Shire up to $36000.00 or 3 years imprisonment,
-Fabulous communal fire pit open during winter months. No individual site camp fires due to safety of our property, animals and guests.
-If you smoke please place your butts in a sealed fire proof container. Please do not leave them on the ground as it is a fire risk and our animals may eat them causing health issues.
-No dogs permitted on the property due to our animals roaming free.
-You must be totally self contained, own power and water, (3 clean portable toilet and refreshing cold bush shower are available for use in the communal area).
-Please take away all rubbish.
-No big party groups.
-Quiet time from 7.30pm please. Please consider other guests and our neighbours.
-Check out of campsite by 11 am please.
-If a gate is closed, please close it behind you as will find it very hard to catch an animal that has escaped.
- Please do not enter animal enclosures/ paddocks without Jane or Marc.
-As we are a farm and you will be in our farm animals home, we ask you to please be kind and friendly towards all of our animals.
-You approach all animals at your own risk
-Please do not feed the animals any food that has not been given to you by Jane and Marc.
-Please drive very slowly through paddocks 10km per hour as animals roam freely.
-You will be handed a rules and guidelines policy when you arrive which includes an emergency and evacuation plan. Make sure you read and make yourself very aware of the guidelines, as your safety is very important to us.
-Arrival during day light hours is a must please arrival by 6pm, for yours and our animals safety. The front gate will be locked at 6pm for security reasons and will not unlocked till morning.

Camp up in our bushland, with beautiful views of farmland. Enjoy sitting by the campfire, going on a bushwalk or riding your bicycle around the paddocks on dirt tracks. In the spring, there will be beautiful wildflowers to see, in the winter you will be able to walk through our creeks.
TO BRING
Please be self-contained with water and rubbish, however we do have Sheoak and Jam tree logs that you can collect for firewood and a compost toilet. Also please bring insect repellent, the spring can coincide with lots of mosquitos and flies.
If you would like to bring your own firewood, you can buy some at the Bindoon roadhouse on the way. If you need access to drinking water and waste removal, there are facilities available at nearby caravan parks, such as Goomalling or Wongan Hills. We also provide non-potable water near the compost toilet for you to use for showers.
ARRIVAL
We are located in between Goomalling and Calingiri. Qualin farm sign in angled towards the Goomalling side, so could be difficult to see if driving from Calingiri. Drive slowly on approach of the driveway entry, as it on a corner. At the end of the driveway we have an information board to assist you in finding your spot as well as signs. If you need any help and would like to be welcomed to your spot, please let us know.
PHONE RECEPTION
During your drive, there can be limited phone reception, however, all campsites have some reception from most phone providers. If you do not have reception at the end of the driveway and need assistance, simply drive up the gravel road to the top of the hill (a right turn from the shed).
THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA
Bindoon bakehouse or Toodyay bakery are great places to stop for a snack or lunch on your drive from Perth. Both locations are approximately 1 hour from our farm. Bindoon also has established free mountain biking trails.
New Norcia is an interesting historical town with museums, galleries and tours. It is a 40 minute drive from our farm.
Goomalling has a lovely coffee shop called Lot 39 store and cafe. It is open weekdays and the bakery is open weekends.

Once logged for its timber in the 1960's by Wundowie Steel Foundry for it's steel mills and furnaces, there are still many tall/older trees as well as regrowth. We often have Kangaroos, Wallabies, occasional Echidnas, Goannas, Lizards and many species of Birds. All live in the wild and there is no guarantee that we will see them
We grow wildflowers such as Proteas, Leucadendron , Leucospermum (pincushions),Banksias , Eucalypt - Silver Dollar, and Cut Flowers - Osteospermum, Zinnia and Gladioli, Kangaroo Paw and Bromeliads. We also have our native species - Grass Trees, Zamia Palm and Golden Wattle .

Camp up in our bushland, with beautiful views of farmland. Enjoy sitting by the campfire, going on a bushwalk or riding your bicycle around the paddocks on dirt tracks. In the spring, there will be beautiful wildflowers to see, in the winter you will be able to walk through our creeks.
TO BRING
Please be self-contained with water and rubbish, however we do have Sheoak and Jam tree logs that you can collect for firewood and a compost toilet. Also please bring insect repellent, the spring can coincide with lots of mosquitos and flies.
If you would like to bring your own firewood, you can buy some at the Bindoon roadhouse on the way. If you need access to drinking water and waste removal, there are facilities available at nearby caravan parks, such as Goomalling or Wongan Hills. We also provide non-potable water near the compost toilet for you to use for showers.
ARRIVAL
We are located in between Goomalling and Calingiri. Qualin farm sign in angled towards the Goomalling side, so could be difficult to see if driving from Calingiri. Drive slowly on approach of the driveway entry, as it on a corner. At the end of the driveway we have an information board to assist you in finding your spot as well as signs. If you need any help and would like to be welcomed to your spot, please let us know.
PHONE RECEPTION
During your drive, there can be limited phone reception, however, all campsites have some reception from most phone providers. If you do not have reception at the end of the driveway and need assistance, simply drive up the gravel road to the top of the hill (a right turn from the shed).
THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA
Bindoon bakehouse or Toodyay bakery are great places to stop for a snack or lunch on your drive from Perth. Both locations are approximately 1 hour from our farm. Bindoon also has established free mountain biking trails.
New Norcia is an interesting historical town with museums, galleries and tours. It is a 40 minute drive from our farm.
Goomalling has a lovely coffee shop called Lot 39 store and cafe. It is open weekdays and the bakery is open weekends.

25 acre bushland property set amongst Jarrah and Marri trees. Once logged for its timber in the 1960's by Wundowie Steel Foundry for it's steel mills and furnaces, there are still many tall/older trees as well as regrowth. We often have Kangaroos, Wallabies, occasional Echidnas, Goannas, Lizards and many species of Birds. All live in the wild and there is no guarantee that we will see them
We grow wildflowers such as Proteas, Leucadendron , Leucospermum (pincushions),Banksias , Eucalypt - Silver Dollar, and Cut Flowers - Osteospermum, Zinnia and Gladioli, Kangaroo Paw and Bromeliads. We also have our native species - Grass Trees, Zamia Palm and Golden Wattle .
We also have fruit trees, chooks and a vegetable garden.
BUSH STAY ACCOMMODATION is available.The Olivia Cabin which will accommodate up to four people.TV,DVD, aircon, fridge, toaster, kettle and cutlery, plates etc.
We also have a large comfortable Tent to accommodate up to four people. Set up for the real bush experience. TV, DVD ,table and chairs .Beds and mattresses,sheets ,blankets, pillows, and doonas can be provided. You may bring your own tent,but only up to a mid sized four man tent.This is not an RV site.

Our stay at Gumtree Cottage was exceptional. Stacey had thought of everything. The homely touches that we found everywhere on the property made the stay very comfortable.
This would be the perfect winter getaway with the firepits and indoor fireplace. Sitting on the verandah and enjoying the evening with a glass of red was perfect. The bed was super comfy too and the day bed out the front. We will be booking again soon. Stacey is a super host and the cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortable.

We had a fantastic stay in our own private and very spacious tent. Driving in, the fields of wildflowers and blooming canola made for such a beautiful arrival, and the view from the tent was absolutely stunning. Falling asleep by the glow of the campfire with the moon shining through the window was truly unforgettable. We were also lucky enough to enjoy a farm tour where we spotted sheep, wild kangaroos, and even wedge-tailed eagles – such a highlight! The amenities were spotless and conveniently located near the tent, and the directions to the farm were clear and easy to follow. We’d highly recommend a stay here at any time of year

What a view! We drove to the farm from Perth and saw all the lovely farms on the drive up.
When we got to Qualin Farm bush camp.
We were impressed with how quiet and peaceful the camp sites were. We got the camp site with the tent set up on our arrival.
We added bedding to our experience and we were impressed with how neat and beautiful the tent was.
Camping out under the stars was amazing
Fire wood sticks and branches were easy to find. There was a toilet nearby and water for us to boil.
we brought our newborn baby with us and it was his first camping experience.
The next morning we got a tour around the farm with the owner.
10/10 camping and the wife was super happy.
Would recommend to my family and friends!!!!

We had such a lovely 2-night stay! The cottage was clean and inviting. We arrived to a lovely welcome sign and some goodies like chips, m&m’s, oats cups for breakfast, jerky and biltong. There was fire wood chopped for the fireplace, and bubble bath and bath salts by the bath. These were such unexpected but lovely touches that made us so grateful to have booked this weekend away! The property is wonderful for dogs to have a very enjoyable run around and sniff.

The beautiful farm made this road trip truly excellent. In fact, my partner and I found the toilet there to be the cleanest we have ever visited in road trip. The campsite also provided a good amount of private space. We especially enjoyed Alix's tour of their farm and meeting the cute sheep, Lambo. This is a destination well worth

Weekend Trip to Echidna Springs Horticulture
My Husband and I took our dog to stay at Ed's place for an overnight stay. It was so quiet, the only noise was from birds and the wind rustling in the trees!
Ed maintains the property very well, everything is neat and in order. Ed even cooked our sausages for us on the BBQ!
The cabin is very nice, it would suit 4 people no problem. Be aware there are no amenities in the cabin, the kitchen and bathroom is in the main residence.
