A well-kept campsite walking distance to the town of Hyden and a lovely walk with a pathway (3km) to Wave Rock. The facilities (toilet & bins), were neat and tidy, but I did feel sorry for the camper placed close by as the banging of the doors when closed or opened would have been annoying.
The campsite is very close to the road, although seperated by a line of vegetation and a wire fence. As a result, in a tent, you can hear trucks passing all night, which does affect sleep quality. Perhaps ear plugs would be recommended.
It's not obviously on acreage that is open to exploring. There are a lot of instructions indicating fines about picking up after your dog or dog off leash - $50/instance, but not a lot of signage about where on the property is open to exploring. I'm assuming none.
However, it was neat and tidy and well located proximity wise
