Reactive Canine Camping Retreat

Here's a revised version of your review: Our time camping at Michaela’s exceeded all our expectations! The spacious paddock provided ample shade, and the amenities were a fantastic bonus. Taking our reactive pup on her first camping trip turned out to be a great decision. She had no triggers to set her off, and being off-leash allowed her to enjoy the freedom of being a real dog, rather than being tied up at our site. The fully enclosed farming fences served as an excellent barrier, ensuring our pup stayed safe within the paddock. Michaela was an exceptional host, going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Overall, the experience was incredible, and the site was amazing. We're already looking forward to returning with our pups for another fantastic camping experience.

So peaceful and relaxing! My 18 month old doggie had free rein, and knowing she was safe and happy meant that I could really relax and take time out. A lot of places might say they are dog friendly, but michaela’s place really takes it to the next level.

Double booked, expensive, poor site

Intended to stay for 3 nights (Fri-Sun) but due to issues at home were unable to arrive until Saturday, I sent the owner (Michaela) a message to state same, we received a reply email back from Michaela on Saturday morning stating our site had been “double booked” by the Hipcamp app but she had found us a new site to stay on. When we arrived we messaged to say we were then with no reply, made several calls to Michaela again with no reply. Eventually made contact and we were shown to the replacement site - she suggested we stay away from the long grass and stay around the small short dry grassed area backing onto her home, with a minimal amount of shade in the area (37 degree day), Michaela suggested this “site” was the best option for us as the site we had originally booked looked very sad and dry. We attempted to find a spot where she suggested with short grass and shade but could not find anything suitable. We ended up leaving the property and found an alternative site elsewhere.

Lawn Site2

We loved staying on Michaela's land. Very cozy and quiet. Michaela welcomed us and made us feel like home as soon as we got there. Bathroom and shower all very clean. Wish we could have more time to explore around more and definitely would love to recommend and stay again.

We camped on the grass area with our cockerspaniel Toby. We were self contained but hooked into power. We were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves and because it's all fenced in, our dog loved being able to follow his nose without getting into mischief. Toby even loved playing with the 2 resident St Bernards. Thankyou Michaela for your hospitality. We will definitely be back.

Such an amazing location! I took my reactive pup here for his first camping trip and it was perfect! Big paddock which is fully fenced in, nice and quiet and the owner was super nice and welcoming. Definitely will be coming back again

Stayed here this past weekend. It was great to let our reactive dog off leash to roam around as the paddock was completely fenced. The paddock we stayed in was large and easy to set up camp in and had a lovely shaded area under the trees. We had a lovely time, and I would highly recommend.

Great time

Was a great place for us to dip our toes back into camping with all our doggos. We had the grass spot with access to power and it was well kept and had some shade. Michaela was lovely and great at communication before/during stay. Was great to have the dogs able to run around and keep an eye with the main section having fencing. They loved the dam, even though it was a little low during this time of year. It was a great couple of nights away, without having to travel hours.

Perfectly Tranquil

Stayed for a few nights and could easily have stayed longer. Great setting with all we needed to have a nice break. Our host Michaela couldn’t be more welcoming or helpful. It is a relaxed site, where nothing is too much trouble for Michaela, who made us feel part of her family. The vintage site playground kept our kids occupied for hours. Additionally our kids enjoyed riding their bikes daily within the ample fenced space around the site. The resident roosters ensured we had early starts each day 😁 much to our kids’ delight. Michaela worked really hard to ensure we had abundant firewood during our stay. Thanks Michaela - you were the star of our trip and a gem of a host, much appreciated

A really lovely spot under trees and on sand. Our dog had a marvellous time exploring. I would advise earplugs as the nights can be very noisy with cows, geese, roosters and dogs going off regularly.

Our host was amazing. On arrival she made us a fire while we set up as it was getting late and cold. And even offered a different spot on the property as ur was booked that weekend and wanted us to feel like we had our own space. Which wasn’t necessary but very appreciated as one of our dogs is young and a little anxious. Speaking to the host as she made the fire it became obvious this is a passion project and I felt very comfortable being there with our dogs. Communication prior to our booking was excellent and very accommodating to our request to have family visit for a the afternoon. Thanks for a great stay we will be back

Doggo and Family Camping

This camping site is great. There is plenty of space on the grassed area, the fact that it is fenced off from all other areas is great for our dogs. This is also the entrance to the property and other camp sites on this property, so other guests will come through the area if off for a day trip or camping for a shorter time than you. The facilities are great, hot water on a camping trip is a bonus, and the hosts are very welcoming and once you get there they leave you to your camping trip but are available if you have challenges. Just need to bring extra blankets as it was way colder than we anticipated, loved having an open fire and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and will stay again.

What a wonderful place to spend the weekend with my dogs. We had an amazing time! Lovely country side, a beautiful place to camp and Michaela was an amazing host. So lovely to have a relaxing weekend with my dogs having the freedom to run around exploring. I’ll definitely been visiting again :)

We absolutely loved Michaela and John’s property, they’re very accommodating and just great people. Michaela even lit us a camp fire in their fire pit. Our dog had a great time off his lead, definitely be back and highly recommend.

We loved Michaela’s place. Shoutout to Abby and Aurora. Michaela was so helpful when we couldn’t find the entrance. She also brought us lots of firewood! Bathroom was clean and had everything we needed.

What a lovely stay! John and Michaela made me feel at home and the space is super well kept, beautiful surroundings and very easy to get to I dont have a puppy, but love dogs, so I can just imagine how much a dog would have enjoyed the space As the ad say, Red site 2 do need a 4wd for one little sand patch, but is ideal for someone that love camping as I do - semi self sufficient (access to a well-maintained toilet and shower is excellent on this property) with trees and bush around Thank you to the hosts for making your slice of heaven available to campers like me!

Magic place! From the beautiful hosts to the welcoming space. We loved our stay. Kids were happy riding bikes, scavenger hunting, wildlife watching and firewood collecting. The dogs were in heaven with space to run, sniff and explore. Better than a hotel!

We had a great stay. Property was fully fenced so the dogs had a blast off lead. Fire pit and wood was available which was fun to toast marshmallows. Hosts were really lovely and have two gorgeous St Bernard’s. Will definitely come back and recommend to others.
