Lewana is a historic ex-forestry workers' estate located on the Blackwood River and Tourist Route 251 between Balingup and Nannup. The 100-acre property is situated amongst state and pine forests, and the parkland setting features over 50 different tree varieties, creating a beautiful place to stay at any time of year. Lewana is the ideal base to explore the picturesque region of Balingup and the surrounding areas, including Donnybrook, Nannup, and Bridgetown. Surrounded by orchards and award-winning wineries, there’s plenty to enjoy during your stay. Experience nature by walking part of the Bibbulmun Track, cycling a section of the Mundi Bibbi Track, or kayaking on the Blackwood River from historic Wrights Bridge. Please Note: No campfires between 1st Nov and 10th May, subject to Shire ruling. Dog-friendly, strictly by prior arrangement only. Shower available adjacent to the old barn. Communal fire pit & gas BBQ. No generators or trail bikes allowed. Coffee Cart open when guests are staying with us.

Lewana is a historic ex forestry workers estate located on the Blackwood River and Tourist Route 251 between Balingup and Nannup. The 100 acre property is situated amongst state and pine forest and the parkland setting has over 50 different trees varieties creating a beautiful place to stay at any time of year. Located towards the bottom of the Lewana Valley, Base Camp offers majestic views of the wide open landscape above and the brook and ponds below.  The view of the ridge line climbing to over 300m elevation makes you want to climb up to the top to experience the views over the Blackwood. The open and exposed level site is most suitable for self-contained camp set ups with the ablution facilities located 250m away by the old barn.  The campground is not shaded which is perfect for solar panels however an awning of something to provide shade would be needed in summer months.  Access is via a sloping gravel track with turning space adjacent to the campground, which most suitable for 4WD towing vehicles or 2WD tent set ups. Conventional caravans and tents can be used in summer. Access from the gravel road is via a grassed level track, however parts of the site are on a slight slope.  Lewana is the ideal place to base yourself to enjoy the picturesque region of Balingup and the surrounding areas including Donnybrook, Nannup and Bridgetown. Surrounded by orchards and award-winning wineries there is plenty to do during your stay. Experience nature by walking part of the Bibbulmun Track or cycle a section of the Mundi Bibbi Track, you can even kayak on the Blackwood River from historic Wrights Bridge. Running Brook comprises of two secluded spaces, which when combined are suitable for up to two camp set ups.  The campgrounds are located in the forest with the elevated site overlooking the dam.   The Brook flows past the site during winter months filling the dam below. The site is located away from the other campsites, heritage listed cottages and c. 250m from the ablution block and old barn.  The campground is suited to self-contained caravans or trailer tents with their own restroom facilities which must be provided by the camper. Lewana is the ideal place to base yourself to enjoy the picturesque region of Balingup and the surrounding areas including Donnybrook, Nannup and Bridgetown. Nestled in the trees by a creek that flows from the dam in winter, Hidden Creek is most suitable for self-contained camper trailers or off-road caravans in wetter months.  Conventional caravans can be used in summer. Access from the gravel road is via a grassed level track, however parts of the site are on a slight slope.  It is located away from the other campsites and timber cottages at Lewana. The ablution block is c. 170m from the campground by the old barn.  Lewana is the ideal place to base yourself to enjoy the picturesque region of Balingup and the surrounding areas including Donnybrook, Nannup and Bridgetown. Surrounded by orchards and award-winning wineries there is plenty to do during your stay. Experience nature by walking part of the Bibbulmun Track or cycle a section of the Mundi Bibbi Track, you can even kayak on the Blackwood River from historic Wrights Bridge. Lewana is definitely worth a visit, a very large property to be explored. I loved the Hidden Creek camping spot. Very private and beautiful trees. Lots of space for your tent or camper. At night you will hear many frogs, its nice to hear them before falling asleep. I can't wait to go back but for a couple of nights, to relax by the fire. Thank you

Beautiful secluded spot for the camper van, at Running Brook, overlooking the dam. Reasonably level with a stone ringed fire pit. Firewood available to purchase in season. Lovely hosts. Would definitely recommend & return.

Perfect setting for a relaxing time . Very hospitable hosts , charming to be honest . Bags of Jarrah for sale , free range eggs , coffee as well . Our site was set in a gorgeous location , surrounded by young Karri trees overlooking a small brook / lake . There are two sites for RVs close enough to each other to have a group stay but far enough away to maintain privacy as they are on different levels . Take your own toilet definitely but there is toilet and shower up the hill about 130 meters away . Both sites have fire pits . Definitely booking this again !!! 5 stars from us Thank you Errol and Nola . First class 🙂

We absolutely loved the camping site! It boasts a fantastic location close to nature, providing a serene escape. The site is well-equipped with all the basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful camping experience.

Errol and Nola were very welcoming. Their property is beautiful and very well maintained, neat and tidy. We loved the coffee cart in the morning for a fresh espresso brew. A very picturesque and quiet place to unwind for a couple of days. We headed in to Nannup and then on to Augusta. All within an easy drive to beautiful south west region. We will be back I’m sure.

Such a beautiful spot to spend some time recharging. Errol & Nola are great hosts. Our setup included a little camp trailer & 2WD. Unless you’re in a 4WD, stick to the gravel space made ready for your campsite. Thanks Lewana :)

We really enjoyed camping at Leeann - Base Camp. The site was nice and felt really private. The pest part was we felt like we were camping remote but still had the ability to have a warm shower, flushing toilet and barista made coffee! The hosts were lovely and accomodating. What more could you ask for! We would definitely recommend!

We struck a weekend of rain, and that's not the host's fault, but unfortunately Hidden Creek sits between the lake and a creek. The rain turned the site into an area of standing water that needed low range and diff locks to get the caravan out of. In fine weather we think it would be lovely but not when there's rain about. Also think the $7 per night per pet is a bit rich.

We camped in a swag and awning combo at base camp, plenty of room however be cautious of the weather as we came during the worst storm ever. Errol was helpful however with offering assistance if required. The bathroom and hot showers were a lifesaver, made the whole experience better. Lots of wildlife around and spectacular views.

We were met by Errol who made us feel very welcome. We had a very relaxing stay at Hidden Creek for 3 days. Surrounded by a fantastic variety of trees and continuous birdlife.The entire property was beautiful and so lovely to wander around. The other sites were well enough away for us to feel like we had the place to ourselves. We were able to chill out by the fire on our site, and have very relaxing few days. Our site was below the dam and more than large enough for our 18ft ,van and we will certainly return for another stay.

We loved our stay at the Base Camp! A beautiful site overlooking the pine trees, lots of space for our tents and cars, and a designated fire pit - felt immersed in nature, and it was so peaceful 😊 the facilities were exactly like the pictures showed! Everything was maintained excellently! Would love to come back again soon.

Just a lovely place to be. Quietly nestled in amongst the trees, this idyllic location is a must for those seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle. Off grid campers, rejoice! A short stroll away from your secluded and spacious site is welcoming shower and toilet facitlities! You can "rough" it without roughing it. Seriously though, this place is a must. And Errol and Nola are just the best.

We had our camp site at Hidden Creek. Love the surrounding , it was just next to the lake. Morning you could hear Kookaburra as wake up alarm. Facilities are clean and tidy. We definitely would like to come back and try other camp sites.

The experience of camping at Lewana was fabulous from start to finish. The host greeted us as we arrived, explained the facilities and then allowed us to settle into BaseCamp. The views were breathtaking, they had great facilities- all professionally done. We honestly cannot wait to return
