We absolutely enjoyed the peacefulness of this site, the variety of birds (including a blue wren thst visited us everyday!), and the abundance of greenery. The kids enjoyed having a paddle in the dam. Owner Lisa was a lovely host. Just the perfect long weekend, will definitely be back.

We enjoy caravanning at Dam view as we have the camp area all to ourselves. An added extra is a clean drop toilet within the vicinity. Area is reasonably flat and very clean.

We had a really pleasant couple of nights at Kangamia, set up amongst the olive trees and overlooking the dam and Bamboo forest. The bird life was abundant, and otherwise it was very quiet and peaceful. The facilities were minimal (compost loo and swim in the dam for bath) but we had our own water and cooking gear in the camper - so all good for food needs. The property is full of mature orchards which are doing their own thing, but great to wander through; the vege chook area being kept up and doing well with permaculture principles - all good to consider as we are setting up our own. Thanks to the hosts for sharing their space!

Beautiful location and very peaceful. The walks around the property were amazing and damn was wonderful for the dogs to cool off in. Lovely to have chairs and a table set up by the damn to enjoy coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening.

A beautiful spot for hardcore campers and nature lovers. Wouldn’t recommend to people who usually camp in caravan parks unless you have your own toilet and shower, as the pit toilet is very basic with a curtain for door, and the shower is a water bag hanging in a tree. We loved swimming in the dam to cool off, spotting blue wrens and black cockatoos, and being able to camp with our dog. Nearby Balingup with its vibrant main street (and coffee!) is only 10 mins drive away.

The site is in a really picturesque area 10mins from Balingup
Over 3 decades of work planting trees has gone into the property - and the site near the dam is perfect
The hosts live on the property and are very chilled and welcoming - however you forget that anyone lives there and the privacy is 100% and quiet - will definitely be booking again soon
And the only complaint is that we should have stayed a week not a weekend - kudos to John and Lisa and thanks for allowing us to share your creation -

Beautiful spot to unwind and just enjoy nature! Fab location close to lots of spots to explore. 13ft caravan fit but you wouldn’t want to be too much bigger. Leveling blocks needed, but that’s why we carry them!! Lisa was a wonderful host and we will be back again. Just fabulous

We loved camping in the olive grove and near the dam. It was so quiet with amazing birdlife. We stayed for 2 nights and didnt leave the property. Went for several walks and enjoyed the peacefulness. The toilet was the best drop dunny we have seen. Great view from it and no smell!

Lisa was very accommodating, we arrived late and she came out in the dark to show us the way, we woke up the next morning - the hottest day the summer to a beautiful dam to go swimming in, we spent most of the day there, got incredibly sunburnt, wouldn't change a thing! The kids had a great time! We set the movie projector up in the olive grove and had family movie night each night. We didn't want to leave! Christmas day was spent together, unplugged from the internet. A day to remember. We're so grateful for Lisa allowing us to spend time on her property.

A very peaceful quiet camp ground situated amongst the olive grove and overlooking a dam. The bird life is amazing! One of the best drop dunnies I’ve seen! And a great view from the throne. We will be back!

I loved my 2 night stay at Kangamia. It was a spur of a moment booking and I couldn’t have been happier with my trip. It was just myself and my dogs. Being my first solo camping adventure, I felt extremely safe. So safe in fact that I didn’t need lighting in the evenings. I was just able to enjoy the peace and quiet and the beautiful stars. I met Lisa the host briefly and she is wonderful, even briging down chargers for my phone (I’m such an amateur) so I didn’t need to use my car.😊 Otherwise she just left us to enjoy her beautiful property.
My Rottie absolutely loved being able to swim in the dam and both pups enjoyed the freedom to wander around the space. Balingup is just down the road, so too is the beautiful town of Bridgetown. The pups and I even enjoyed a walk around the Golden Valley Tree Park which is only about a 10min drive from the property. I would highly recommend checking Kangamia out. It’s the perfect spot to relax or have as a base to do some exploring around a beautiful part of the country.👌🏽

Watching the wind blow, for hours, across the dam was incredibly relaxing.
I enjoyed a morning walk each day through the trees and gazing up at the stars.l each night.

The campsite was beautiful with a great dam view. It was a disappointing start when we turned up and there was someone else there on a solo camp site, who said they asked to extend their stay and the owner said it was okay, even though we had booked it for that night. Understandably, this camper was quite upset and left and the owner said she forgot to mention it and thought it would be okay, without any communication.
Other than that, I would recommend this camp site.

Lovely setting by the dam in the olive grove with great views all around. Excellent site and good for our two small dogs too. Also close enough to local towns - Bridgetown, Nannup for daytime excursions. Golden Valley Arboretum a highlight.

We had a wonderful time took my grandkids and had some awesome bonding and made great memories. We felt like we were alone and it was peaceful loved the Birds in the morning but Rooster needs to learn time it crowed regularly from 4am lol till sun up.

Myself, Hubby and our furbaby loved being the only guests on site. We were nested amongst the olive trees , surrounded by nature. It was wonderful to be woken by the birds in the morning.

We loved our time here! Being only one site, we had privacy and serenity.
We loved awakening to the sounds of birds. Our furbaby loved the grassed area for running and playing with his ball.
The hosts were exceptional! They went over and above to help us with a flat battery. We’ve already rebooked to go back next month! Highly recommend this camp.

Beautiful tall trees when you drive down to the camp-site and greeted with many birds on arrival. The camp-site was very private and having the simple things like a compost toilet and shelter for your tent is perfect. I was with my dog Xena and we enjoyed the fire. My favourite is stargazing. Complete darkness for viewing is why I love camping, we dont do this simple pleasure when your at home. I got more than I bargained when I was stargazing with some unusual lights crossing the sky. I think Balingup is the place to witness such a viewing, haha. Not much sleep that night but what an experience. The cost for 1 person is a little pricey compared to a caravan park but you can have more people. Thank you
