Nemah River Camp
A beautiful secluded spot by the river. We camped with our friends - we each had our own trailer. Great fire pit with a bit of firewood. Felt like we were really in the deep dark woods - but the highway was right next to us. Wonderful grassy meadow where my dog could romp. Spent two fabulous nights.

Nemah River Camp
Beautiful campsite next to a peaceful stream. Plenty of room for tents and RVs. There are trout in the stream, but they are cautious and a good challenge to catch. A little bit of road noise from 101, but overall a nice spot.
Nemah River Camp
We had some trouble with communication. A few days ahead of our arrival, we asked for landmarks or specific location instruction since we would be arriving at the camp after dark. No response. Sent a second message the day of the reservation and the host was confused about which location we had reserved. We then called the host and were given exact instructions. There was no address number marked that we could see on the road, just a limp paper sign on a tree marking the camp. Pretty creek from afar, but other campers set up near creek access and we did not want to disturb them. Got in late, left early.
Location is about 50 feet off of Hwy 101 and road noise was pretty loud and frequent through the night. Ear plugs are recommended.

Awesome little spot!
Awesome little spot! Definitely rent out both spots if you go. Is close to road but lots of trees by road so still private. Love the little fire pit!

Awesome set up!
Rent out both sites ! Sites are too close for strangers .. love the river and fire pit! The old trees around the property are super cool as well. Road is close.. you hear traffic and see head lights at night but other then that, perfect spot!

Great spot a bit out of Long Beach, was just a quick sleep for me so I didn’t get to enjoy much of the land around. Stars were really bright.

Super close to Long Beach. Super convenient to highway 101 and with solid walled camper, traffic noise shouldn’t bother you. It was so nice to have river to yourself for a weekend

Beautiful river campsite
The campsite was next to the beautiful clear Mid Nehmah River. There was a fire pit and steps to the river. The sunset across the highway was gorgeous. This spot allowed for exploration of the Chehalis River and nearby areas.

The river will relax you!
A last minute booking, and had to find it in the dark, but directions were good and the space was great. Had two nice firepits to use right on the river. Nice gravel on the road in to help with mud (they had recently received record rains in the area). Just off the road, but far enough that we barely heard it in our Vanagon. Not a busy road either. The river was so calming and relaxing to have right there.

Nemah River Camp
Although convenient for our activities and a nice setting on the river, we were underwhelmed with the campsite. We had a few issues: 1)The site was only about 200 feet from the highly-trafficked route 101 so quite noisy throughout the night, 2) we found broken glass and other debris in our campsite, 3)no one met us at the site with no host, and 4) there were other people who parked and walk-thru our site who were not other hip-campers, so security was nonexistent.

The perfect get away!
This camp site is amazing!
Majestic and calming. Everything we needed to end this Summer.
I highly recommend you bring your own porta potty or a five gallon bucket with a toilet seat and trash can liners. This place is so beautiful you really want to leave it looking untouched by humans.
My Son found this gem and we met one of the local fisherman that keeps an eye on the property.
We absolutely loved it and will return soon!
Thank you Shelly!

Just off 101...
Great location, great host, very flexible and responsive - recommend renting both sites on this property and having it all to yourself!
Nemah River Camp
Beautiful but close to Hwy 101
Shelly was very responsive and helpful and kind.
Her land is very beautiful, lush with big trees by a little stream. There are two fire rings and a small, mowed open meadow.
While the land itself is very idyllic, it is unfortunately adjacent to Hwy 101, with traffic being partially visible from the land.
The traffic noise was omnipresent and affected our nature experience and sleep.
The booking reservation included a Hwy 101 address, which we used for our GPS.
It lead us to a spot about 2,miles away, so we called Shelly. She gave us exact mileage starting at a nearby highway intersection plus the name of a nearby street. This got us to the Hipcamp. The actual Hipcamp site did not have a street number listed. We didn’t want to have to call Shelly and bother her but didn’t have an other choice.
We left earlier than planned and she was very kind and accommodating and offered a refund, which we very much appreciated.
If you arrive with two parties or are lucky like us to have the place to yourselves and don’t mind the proximity to 101, it’s a very special piece of land to camp on.

Great location right on the river. It is right off 101 so the only negative comment would be about the road noise. If you want full privacy rent out both spots but very nice camping spot on the river. A morning dip in the river is a great way to start the day!

Nice nook for a homebase to explore
Nice nook by the river but I agree with previous reviews about when both spots are booked because they are next to each other so you have no privacy. I have a camper and there was a couple with a tent, we both had dogs and theirs was not friendly, so I had to hide down by the water while they stayed at their camp to avoid their dog just barking at mine.
I also have a projector, which I used, so if someone was looking for a peaceful quiet night, it makes it difficult when both spots are booked.
That said, I liked the location. I was able to easily pop over to the long beach and enjoy the beauty of the area. In my opinion, this is a great spot for setting up a home base but go out exploring vs relaxing at camp all day because it is on the highway and the tightness of potential neighbors.

Great escape from the summer heat
This site was a welcome getaway from the wildfire haze. There is enough coastal influence to keep the temperatures substantially lower than the Seattle area, which was also a welcome escape during the summer heat waves.
The property is beautiful and the sounds of the little river were very relaxing. It does border Hwy 101 so there will always be road noise, but that is nothing compared to locations that sit along railroads. Nothing that cannot be solved with some foam ear plugs. However, wait until after the coyote calls die off before turning off your ears!
The water in the river is shallow enough most places that small children can stomp around for hours chasing and catching sculpin. There were king fisher and blue heron sharing in our sculpin hunt. Very fun to observe.
There are two sites here, but little to no division between the two sites. Perfect for larger groups, but as a private getaway, this location might be hit or miss depending on the time you go. We went during the week and were packing up the morning after a group was beginning to arrive. I wouldn’t recommend letting your dogs off leash here, only because of how close the highway is, or if there are dogs at the other site.
I wish the water had been cooler so I could speak to the fishing, but only sculpin were biting on our visit.
Please remember to be good patrons and pick up after yourselves. Since this is a primitive site, understand and follow good nature etiquette for how to dispose of your waste and pack out your garbage. Keep this place beautiful.

This is a nice tucked away area with rad view of a slow moving river and plenty of beautiful old growth trees. If you are entertaining a large or louder group be sure to grab both sites as they aren't separated by anything. Shelly is a super helpful host!!

This place is sooo beautiful and serene, not to mention the fishing! We caught a rainbow trout after a few casts. The camping sites are really nice, there’s a lot of area to spread out alongside the water. It’s so peaceful at night listening to the creek flowing. There’s tons of property to explore and the hosts were really nice and welcoming. I would 100% stay here again.
