Immerse yourself in the heart of Bruny Island at this private slice of the iconic Neck. Instant book, no minimum nights. Dogs welcome (but please keep them inside the property boundary at all times). Our private campground is surrounded by towering Blue Gums, with ten well separated tent/campervan/caravan sites spaced comfortably across 11 acres. Note there are no toilet facilities here - you will need to take everything you bring with you! Note there is a toilet dump point at Alonnah, a short drive south of The Neck. A short walk along a path through the trees will have you standing on the iconic Neck ocean beach. This 11.5 kilometres of pristine sand and ocean offers surfing, swimming and fishing. The beach is also home to the island's Fairy Penguins who return to their burrows in the sand dunes at dusk. The best viewing period is during the warmer months of September to February. Bruny Island Cheese, Get Shucked Oysters, Bruny Island Honey are a ten-minute drive north. Adventure Bay with its Bowls Club, General Store and Service Station and coffee shop are a 15-minute drive south. Penicott Wilderness Journeys and Fish Bruny Island private charters are also located at Adventure Bay. 15 minutes drive to the south west is Alonnah, where you'll find the brilliant Bruny Island Hotel - a pub with the best food, service and amazing sunset view over the Channel and Satellite Island. Alonnah is also home to the local Police Station, Pharmacy, Cricket Club, two great coffee shop options, and a skate bowl for the concrete shredders. NOTE: your GPS is likely to send you several hundred metres south of the actual property entrance. Look for the small red Australian flag on the side of the road, indicating the location of the entrance. If you arrive at an old weatherboard cottage - you are at the right property, but the incorrect entrance to the campground.

Perfect for tents, campervans and caravans, our Tern site is a large flat space surrounded by trees on the southern boundary of the property. A large caravan set up could loop in and out of this site with no Austin Powers' turns. There are no bathroom amenities here, guests will need to be self-contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. Dogs welcome, but please make sure they don't leave the boundaries of the property as we are surrounded by Nature Reserve which is home to some little birds who look like they are wearing a tuxedo and walk like little oompa loompas.

NEW! Perentie has moved! From an undulating sandy surface, suited to a Land Rover Perentie, to an even, lush grassy surface similar to Wimbledon Centre Court. Suitable for four-wheel drive camper trailers, campervans (including 2wd vans) and caravans. At this site you could potentially have a fellow camper neighbour on your eastern side - but they will be far enough away that you will feel like your site is private and peaceful. There are no bathroom amenities here, Guests will need to be self-contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. Dogs welcome, but please make sure they don't leave the boundaries of the property as we are surrounded by Nature Reserve which is home to some little birds who look like they are wearing a tuxedo and walk like little oompa loompas.

Lagos (Late Afternoon Glass Off Session) is a flat grassy space on the southern boundary of The Neck property, with a glorious northern aspect. Suitable for large caravans, campervans, tents. At this site you can hear the gentle ocean waves, and the birdsong of the surrounding State Park. Lagos (like all sites at The Neck) is unpowered. There are no bathroom amenities here, Guests will need to be self contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. Dogs are welcome at The Neck at all Sites. However please help us make sure everyone has a relaxing experience by respecting other guests and keeping your four legged best mate on their best behaviour at all times. (This includes keeping his voice down, being considerate of taking his bush poos with him, and staying inside the fenced boundaries of The Neck at all times. (There are Little Penguins living in the Sand Dunes who must always be left alone - by humans, dogs and politicians).

Dawn Patrol is our personal favourite spot. This is the closest site to the walkway to the ocean beach, and you'll get the soothing sound of ocean waves as you relax around the campfire. The site has a slight slope so larger RVs might require some levelling. The surface is firm, sandy loam with natural grass coverage - but mostly sandy. It is quite firmly compacted so you shouldn't have too much trouble with traction. There is no power, or toilet facility - you will need to be self-contained and leave the site as you found it.

Spreckles is located on the eastern boundary of the property (the surf beach end). You'll get the soothing sound of ocean waves as you relax around the campfire (fire ban status permitting). The site has a slight slope so larger RVs might require some levelling. The surface is firm, sandy loam with natural grass coverage - but mostly sandy. It is quite firmly compacted, so you shouldn't have too much trouble with traction. The site will suit smaller size caravans but is ideally suited to campervans or 4x4 camper trailers. There is no power, or toilet facility - you will need to be self-contained and leave the site as you found it. Bunker Spreckles was a well-known surfer in the 1960s. Well-known for his flamboyance, our Spreckles site is more well known for its peace and simplicity.

Located towards the south eastern corner of the property, you'll get the soothing sound of ocean waves as you relax around the campfire. The site has a slight slope in one corner, so larger RVs might require some levelling. The surface is firm, sandy loam with natural grass coverage - but mostly sandy. It is quite firmly compacted so you shouldn't have too much trouble with traction. There is no power, or toilet facility - you will need to be self-contained and leave the site as you found it. Whether you're interested in offshore surf conditions, or offshore tax havens, the simplicity combined with economy of this site should appeal.

White Cloud II is named in honour of our childhood sabot sailing dinghy! Just like a Sabot, this site is cute and good for families! The site is located on the eastern boundary of the property, very close to the foot access to the surf beach. You will often have the soft sound of crashing waves as white noise. The site is suitable for small/medium size caravans and large campervans. It would accommodate two large campervans using a 'loop in and out' approach to parking/setting up. The surface is hard packed sand, stabilised by natural coastal grasses so should be suitable for most vehicles, but you'll be most confident in a 4x4.

Springer

This site is in the north east corner of the property. The surface is quite sandy, so suitable for 4x4 vehicles. It is also quite undulating, but you will be able to set up on a flat spot. It is one of the sites closest to the surf beach, so you will often hear the crashing waves as a peaceful white noise (free of extra charge). There is no power, or toilet facility - you will need to be self-contained and leave the site as you found it. Springer is the name of our fishing boat. As in springer spaniel retrieves the game… but often it doesn’t retrieve much at all.

Good location, easy to book. Had the place all to our selves, fairly level sites. The sites were a little overgrown however, knee length beach shrubs but otherwise a great stay. Private access to the beach!

Great location sign posted easy if you use the Bruny map. Big areas can fit two groups at the site we used easy, couple hundred meters to the beach. I would recommend to anyone with kids and it’s dog friendly, will come stay again and bring a mate or two, Thank you for a great stay. Easy to charge your solar no hassles at all. Not far from adventure bay or a drive to the lighthouse

We booked this site last minute after being catfished by another location 5 mins away. Booked for one night originally, ended up staying 3! The offshore site was perfect for our van and tent set up. The waves crashing all night was incredible and the stars! We absolutely loved our stay! Couldn’t recommend enough.

Beautiful location. Despite the initial difficulty finding the camp-site (the signs are very small and difficult to see at night time) we found our spot and we had a pleasant stay. Would highly recommend for others. We will definitely stay again.

Our family loved staying at the Neck for 3 x nights. Close to a stunning beach and although the sites are quite open we felt we had sufficient privacy also. The location is central to many of Bruny Islands attractions.

Wonderful camp site. Plenty of room around the sites which provides plenty of privacy. Easy access to the beach. We had the place to ourselves which was great. The only room for improvement would be to provide a drop toilet, as the price was on par with the park, and dearer than the neck free camp which has a loo.

Amazing little spot with access to both side of the neck with a short 5 minute walk to either side , lovely soft grass surrounded by ferns and beautiful rall trees so you feel closed off and some lovely poteroos occasionally aswell as bird life

Great location, a few minutes walk to the long beach facing the southern ocean with silky sand and very few people. We walked for hours along the beach and enjoyed the tessellated pavement on the southern end. It was a long weekend and all sites were occupied, but still felt private.

We really enjoyed our time at The Neck. The sites were nicely spaced & felt private. It's close to lots of the islands attractions. The only very small draw back was not being able to take my dogs to the beach at the grounds, but there is a dog friendly beach about a 5min drive away which is just a beautiful!

Was a nice spot, not too close to other vans thankfully. I did think there would be more fire wood available. I thought it was going to be closer to the water also which was disappointing! Will stay somewhere else next time but it was ok! Warning: Lots of ferns if you have dogs or young kids

We had a great stay at “Lagos” with two families split between a pop-up camper and large cabin tent. The sites are well spread out so there is reasonable privacy. The beach is about a 5-10 minute walk away. Some of the sites closer to the beach can be on softer sand - we had to winch out a couple in a large 2WD campervan who got bogged while trying to leave. Overall, a great location to stay and explore Bruny Island. We’ll be back!

Overall had a great stay. Having access to the beach via a short walk was great. The actual site itself was not suitable for a motorhome. Was different to level up he vehicle and when leaving got bogged in the thick sand. Had to be towed out.

We stayed and got bogged due to the ground in the front camp sites being soft due to rain. The owner was ABSOLUTELY incredible, really supportive and helpful with everything. All the campers came to help us also. Thank you so so much for having us! One of our favourite spots on Bruny! Highly recommend.

We had a lovely 3 nights here. The sites are nicely spaced with a short stroll to the beach. Good central location to explore Bruny, especially a morning trip to get the Bread from the Bruny Baker! We are local and will no doubt come again!

Perfect location: sounds of birds, ocean waves; stunning beach for a long stroll; campsite was lovely - good distance from other campers, protected from winds; good mix of sun and shade and easy to set up our kit (4WD, 270 awning and swag). Our nightly campfire was a bonus too. Have booked again!
