Whether you're towing a caravan or driving a motorhome, our spacious grounds offer a convenient and welcoming base to relax and explore the surrounding countryside. šŸš The Setup Our caravan park is open, fully operational, and ready for your arrival! Enjoy easy access, quiet surroundings, and a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere, perfect for a weekend getaway or a stopover on your road trip. Please note that you need to be fully self-sufficient, as there are no amenities available except for a dump point on-site. Can be a bit muddy after heavy rain, keep that in mind when booking, happy to offer a refund if the weather changes prior to your visit and we do get heavy rain preventing access. šŸš§ Please Note: Hotel Renovations Underway The main historic hotel building is currently closed while we undertake exciting renovations. We're working hard behind the scenes to refresh the pub, with a grand reopening planned for the New Year! While the hotel and indoor dining facilities are currently closed, the caravan park remains fully open and accessible to all guests. The place is adequate with a very good sized site. The hoons in loud cars and motorbikes spoil it though.

Hills & Barossa Exploration

We had a great stay at Mount Torrens! It's an excellent location for exploring the beautiful Adelaide Hills and also a gateway to explore the Barossa Valley. There is plenty of room to camp and very handy to have a dump point on site. Chris is excellent to communicate with, always responding promptly to any queries we had. There is a little traffic noise being close to the corner of a main thoroughfare, but it didn't bother us inside the caravan for sleeping - we all slept very peacefully! The ground was a little muddy due to recent rains, but it will dry out quickly with some sunny days ahead. šŸ‘ We enjoyed a beautiful hike at the nearby Mount Pleasant Summit, and they have an excellent market there on Saturday mornings also, just a 15mins drive. Our children loved the nature playground which was only a 700m walk down the road.šŸ‘

A Gateway to Explore the Hills!

We had a lovely stay at Mount Torrens! Communication with Chris was smooth during the booking process and our stay. The location is excellent, with a fun-filled nature playground a short walk away which our children enjoyed visiting a number of times. The ground was a little moist due to recently rains but not enough to cause issues manouvering the rig. The dump point was out of action during our stay but is being looked at so should be up and running again soon. The location is close to a main intersection, so there was some traffic noise from the site, but not enough to cause any issues for sleeping. Overall we'd recommend this Hipcamp to anyone looking to explore the beautiful Adelaide Hills and the Barossa Valley. We went on a stunning 9km hike near Mount Crawford Forrest which was just over 20mins away, and Birdwood is really close if you're a car enthusiast - the Birdwood Motor Museum is well worth a visit!
