Sarabah Stud

The place was beautiful 🌿, the toilet was clean, A fire place was perfect 👌 (we recommend bringing fire wood). Access was super easy, with many signs that made finding the place quick, and we received a very warm welcome from Robert, We had access to a river where we swam the next day and even we saw turtles! A place full of peace and tranquility! We are definitely thinking to back there ☺️. 100% recommended.

Yes it was a very lovely spot. Very quiet ,we did have some noisy neighbors across the river but that's a totally different farm. Pretty rare also to have anyone across there. Yes I would definitely go back there

Misleading but nice

Overall, relatively good experience - however, the site on Hipcamp seemed a bit misleading as the site we got to was completely bare in a field with no trees or cover whereas the listing made it appear as though it was under a tree with a creek. The tree and creek was a no camping zone 50-100m away. We also got unlucky with extremely hot temperatures followed by torrential downpour.

The site was in such a lovely spot, with great access to a waterhole, beautiful views of the landscape and a peaceful sense of solitude. The owners were also super welcoming and helpful. Will definitely be coming back!

Camping spots were very private. I chose to stay at “Platypus Hole”which was a lovely spot. Unfortunately I didn’t see any platypus however there were plenty of turtles. The swimming hole was about 500m away. It wasn’t the greatest spot for my small motor home, as the trees at the entrance were very low, and I was concerned about damaging the solar panels, air con & tv aerial on the roof. I won’t be able to check these out until I get home. The turning circle was small so it took many manouvres to turn the vehicle around after realizing it was much better to drive out in a forward direction rather than reverse out.

Corn Patch Sarabah Stud

Enjoyed or stay on Corn Patch site, level and mowed. Close to Canugra for supplys but far away enough to be quiet. Robert met us just after we setup and went through the dos and dont's plus local attractions, swimming hole etc. Each site has a toilet ,clean and functional, nice touch. Sites are close to each other but far enough apart to feel separated. We would go back to Corn Patch if we were staying in area again.

stoney camp site was everything i hoped it would be. Private, close to the creek and easily accessible. Toilets were really clean and well maintained. Absolutely 10/10 for off the grid camping.

I loved this hipcamp! The site was spacious and well maintained with a clean toilet, and a short walk to the platypus viewing area where we fed some turtles. The views of the stars at night were amazing and the hosts were very welcoming. We had a great time soaking in the views and swimming in the creek, will definitely be back!

This was the best camping spot I’ve been to. So spacious and beautiful and a swimming hole to go to as well! Robert was a great host and we were lucky enough to meet his big friendly dog Tiger ❤️ highly recommend

Misleading

I was mislead by pics of campsite unfortunately. It wasnt what we were looking for. No shade on patch that is mowed for ease of camping but the long dead grass all around us posed a threat for snakes, not to mention the electric fence dividing us from the creek. It was a hot day and I was very underwhelmed, I was looking for a quick entry into the creek with some shade for our tent. Neither were possible. Sorry didn't even get the tent pitched, just drove away very disappointed after spending 3hrs on the road.

We stayed at Stoney Camp and it did not disappoint! Absolutely beautiful and secluded site, close toilet that was very clean. Close to the swimming hole and we absolutely loved it! Thank you so much for having us, we will be back!

We spent another three days camping at Sarabah Stud. Our time was spent, swimming, walking but mainly relaxing. There was so much wildlife around during our stay and the weather was just right. Rob and his team made us welcome and we are checking our calendar to see when we can return, soon hopefully!

Private and surrounded by nature. The grounds came alive at night with sounds of platypus, turtles and other creek life. Heard koalas in the distance talking and saw wallabies bouncing around. So peaceful.

The Mulberry Tree camp is lovely. Far enough away from the other camps, big for a large group or multiple families, right next to the creek and a short walk to the swimming hole. Has it own loo too. Host was great with comms. Peaceful and relaxing.

Lower Platypus Hole Sarabah Stud

Sarabah Stud farms. Was absolutely brilliant. Quiet and peaceful. There is so much wildlife and serenity to appreciate. We stayed at the platypus hole, and We had seen platypus twice during our stay . Robert was great, came and checked in on us not long after we arrived. Was very informative. Will definitely be back..

Absolute awesomeness! Beautiful spot, great big sites. Wildlife was one of the highlights- turtles, eels, platypus, butterflies and kangaroos! Clean private port-a-loo. Fantastic proximate to winery & alpaca.

Camping at the Platypus Hole at Sarabah Stud was truly wonderful. It surpassed (our already high) expectations! This land provided such a peaceful sanctuary for my family to connect and enjoy the beautiful natural environment together. Being right on the water with so many turtles was great and the swimming hole was fantastic. We really appreciated having our own toilet too! Thank you for having us - we'll definitely be back.

Beautiful secluded site!

Hands down one of the best campsites I've been to! The sites are spacious, private and very well maintained. The creek was absolutely gorgeous to swim in and never felt too overcrowded. Canungra was a short drive if we needed any supplies but otherwise had a very relaxing time falling asleep to the sounds of the running creek.

Very nice spot, definitely will return the next opportunity we get. Great little shady spot in the shallow creek for kids to play. And nice deeper spot to swim in only 5 mins walk away. Picnic table was a nice bonus also. 10/10 👍

This spot is private and offers lots of space to take in the tranquility. I had a solo Mum Camp for two days to set up while my gets were away and get my Zen on before my children came for a rowdier camp experience. So much room to disconnect and for kids to be kids - swimming in the waterhole, feeding vege scraps to turtles, looking at the eels, catfish and trying to spot the shy Platypus, playing soccer, cricket or making cubbies in the forrest of trees and their undergrowth. We had tiny quails near our camp that were like baby chickens but lower to the ground, as well as fairy wrens, kookaburras, cockatoos, galah's and mother and baby magpies. There are family groups of wallabies on the property and lace monitors! Every camp has their own clean Portaloo with hand basin which was a treat! The managers and family of the managers were super friendly and welcoming.

Easy to find and perfectly located, just down the road from wineries and the alpaca farm, and only 10 minutes from Canungra if you need supplies. The kids loved the platypus hole and feeding the turtles, although we didn’t spot a platypus this time. It’s an easy, safe area for kids to ride around, and every site has convenient access to the creek swimming hole. The sites are well maintained with clean toilets, each one having its own. This is a fantastic property for family camping and easily the best place we’ve stayed at so far. We’ll definitely be booking again.

Pumpkin Patch Sarabah Stud

Our second time at Sarabah Stud Farm and it truly does not disappoint. It is so peaceful, quiet and feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The wildlife was a highlight, we spotted the Platypus, had a lace monitor visit our campsite and the whole place was a buzz with the sounds of nature. The creek was great for a dip. The toilet facilities were super clean and our campsite was well maintained. Thank you so much Robert.

I thought there we no dogs allowed, not a big deal but was woken up a few times to one of the campers dog barking twice, again not a deal breaker but went for peace and quiet, to rest after a crazy year. Otherwise a great spot and will be back!
