The Mulberry Tree camp is lovely. Far enough away from the other camps, big for a large group or multiple families, right next to the creek and a short walk to the swimming hole. Has it own loo too. Host was great with comms. Peaceful and relaxing.

Sarabah Stud farms. Was absolutely brilliant. Quiet and peaceful. There is so much wildlife and serenity to appreciate. We stayed at the platypus hole, and We had seen platypus twice during our stay . Robert was great, came and checked in on us not long after we arrived. Was very informative. Will definitely be back..

Huge camp site, plenty of distance between sites and not over crowded. Good shade and creek access. Toilets were clean and caretakers friendly and helpful. Will be back

Absolute awesomeness! Beautiful spot, great big sites. Wildlife was one of the highlights- turtles, eels, platypus, butterflies and kangaroos! Clean private port-a-loo. Fantastic proximate to winery & alpaca.

Camping at the Platypus Hole at Sarabah Stud was truly wonderful. It surpassed (our already high) expectations! This land provided such a peaceful sanctuary for my family to connect and enjoy the beautiful natural environment together. Being right on the water with so many turtles was great and the swimming hole was fantastic. We really appreciated having our own toilet too! Thank you for having us - we'll definitely be back.

Beautiful secluded site!

Hands down one of the best campsites I've been to! The sites are spacious, private and very well maintained. The creek was absolutely gorgeous to swim in and never felt too overcrowded. Canungra was a short drive if we needed any supplies but otherwise had a very relaxing time falling asleep to the sounds of the running creek.

Very nice spot, definitely will return the next opportunity we get. Great little shady spot in the shallow creek for kids to play. And nice deeper spot to swim in only 5 mins walk away. Picnic table was a nice bonus also. 10/10 👍

This spot is private and offers lots of space to take in the tranquility. I had a solo Mum Camp for two days to set up while my gets were away and get my Zen on before my children came for a rowdier camp experience. So much room to disconnect and for kids to be kids - swimming in the waterhole, feeding vege scraps to turtles, looking at the eels, catfish and trying to spot the shy Platypus, playing soccer, cricket or making cubbies in the forrest of trees and their undergrowth. We had tiny quails near our camp that were like baby chickens but lower to the ground, as well as fairy wrens, kookaburras, cockatoos, galah's and mother and baby magpies. There are family groups of wallabies on the property and lace monitors! Every camp has their own clean Portaloo with hand basin which was a treat! The managers and family of the managers were super friendly and welcoming.

Easy to find and perfectly located, just down the road from wineries and the alpaca farm, and only 10 minutes from Canungra if you need supplies. The kids loved the platypus hole and feeding the turtles, although we didn’t spot a platypus this time. It’s an easy, safe area for kids to ride around, and every site has convenient access to the creek swimming hole. The sites are well maintained with clean toilets, each one having its own. This is a fantastic property for family camping and easily the best place we’ve stayed at so far. We’ll definitely be booking again.

Our second time at Sarabah Stud Farm and it truly does not disappoint. It is so peaceful, quiet and feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The wildlife was a highlight, we spotted the Platypus, had a lace monitor visit our campsite and the whole place was a buzz with the sounds of nature. The creek was great for a dip. The toilet facilities were super clean and our campsite was well maintained. Thank you so much Robert.

I thought there we no dogs allowed, not a big deal but was woken up a few times to one of the campers dog barking twice, again not a deal breaker but went for peace and quiet, to rest after a crazy year. Otherwise a great spot and will be back!

Close enough to the Gold Coast but far enough away that the city lights can't be seen. The stars are bright and the camp sites are far enough apart that you have privacy. Beautiful creek to swim in and beautiful camping spots

Secluded and Sheltered Stoney Camp

Perfect, peaceful and private. A lovely area beside the creek, totally secluded with great shade and breezes and the sound of running water. 10/10 to Robert for supplying each site with it's own well maintained portaloo. We stayed here for 5 nights in a 5m camper trailer, fed the turtles, explored the area on foot and soaked up the serenity. Robert is passionate about sharing his piece of paradise with nature lovers as is Nathan his caretaker and offers well maintained private sites.

Loved our week at Sarabah Stud. The property is looking amazing with plenty of green grass. Such relaxing place to unwind and prepare for the new year. Would highly recommend this property. Robert, Nathan and Jacqui are amazing hosts and take good care of the property. Can’t wait to come back.

Loved our night at Sarabah Stud! The campsites are all spread apart so you aren’t camping right on top of strangers. The creek was lovely for a quick dip - weren’t lucky enough to spot a platypus but there is always next time! This is probably odd, but it’s nice arriving at your camp site and being able to be barefoot.. grass was mowed.. it’s appreciated

Well maintained camp area although the wife was very disappointed when our campsite view didn't match the pics. She was expecting to be camping with the creek in the background and to fall asleep to the sound of running water. The reality was yes the places in the pics were 100% there and only a short walk away there are only 2 areas within visual range of the creek. Our view was a bit of bush and an electric fence along the rear perimeter of the site. Once she got over her initial disappointment we enjoyed the piece and quiet. Suggestions to the host have a spare roll of toilet paper in the toilet a lot of people will expect this to be supplied, we had some in the caravan luckily and the sensor light in the toilet needs to be repaired or replaced.

This is possibly one of the prettiest camping spots and the creek and swimming spots are excellent. Lots of wildlife, turtles and platypus. Each camp area has space right beside the water but for some bizzare reason the host does not allow guests to camp in these spots but rather up by the unkept paddocks. The host also likes to come around and drill all the rules into you…not really a warm welcome. All in all a pretty place but probably wouldn’t go back for the above reasons, to many other more pleasant places where you feel a bit more welcome.

Lower platypus hole recommended 💯

100% recommend 💯! The lower platypus hole area was great for our group size (10) with mainly kids. Plenty of grass. Good shade during the day, plenty of exploratory areas by the river bank. The viewing areas to the river to spot the platypus are right there, however you cannot swim in it. Spotted turtles everywhere, fish, and the platypus! The firepit area is almost by the bank and surrounded by green under a tree. We bought bikes and some small ring floaties which make the short walk(ride) to the waterhole (150m) and floating around the waterhole more pleasant and fun for the kids. Portaloos were better than any I've used in the past. Clean & fully functioning. (Byo TP) . What we saw, platypus, so many turtles, massive fish (eel tailed something), different birds, kangaroos, hare's and horses. So many things.

What a beautiful place. We were at stoney creek campsite which is close to the shared swimming area. Nathan gave us some great tips about where to spot platypus and how much Birdlife they have. We unfortunately fell ill and had to leave early but will be back.

Such a beautiful property and perfect for families. The creeks and waterholes kept the kids entertained for hours, spotting turtles and playing in the water. Feeding the horses was a highlight, and there’s plenty of open space for bikes and exploring. Evenings by the open fire under the stars were magic. A truly special place, we can’t wait to come back.

Platypus Hole was a scenic, relaxing site, right on the river. Whilst we unfortunately missed seeing the platypus, the turtles were in abundance and mesmerising to watch, and we saw many other animals; including possums, kangaroos and stunning birdlife. The swimming hole was very enjoyable, we would definitely recommend staying here!

Great camping spot near the creek and lots of wildlife. Only stayed for one night and Nathan was accomodating, told us about the swim hole and if you’re lucky you’ll see the resident platypus. Will check out the other camp spot next time.
