Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Hi @everyone **Escape the Crowds: Off-Grid Bush Camping for Gold Prospectors If you’re set up for off-grid camping and want to avoid the crowds, I’ve secured an 40-acre bush block right beside the Bathampton General Permission Area (GPA). This block is a work in progress and does require some cleanup. A small part of the block has been used as a dumping ground in the past—I'm disclosing this now so it’s not a surprise for visitors. But there is plenty of room away from this. There are also remnants of an old miner's hut with many relics scattered around, and old timers working adding a touch of history to your stay. This is a bare block with no amenities, suitable for fully self-sufficient campers. Located just 9km from Clermont on the Laglan Road, it's the perfect base for gold prospecting the local GPA’s **Rates:** - $20 per night per site. Pick your spot, set up, and walk into the GPA or take a short drive to other popular GPAs / if canceled it will be added for a credit for next visit

    Had a great couple of days camping at Glen's property. Felt safe behind a closed gate and property was close to town. Could camp anywhere and found a nice private spot near the bush so plenty of shade and kindling for a fire. Clermont has wonderful services, with Hoods Lagoon nearby, with free water, bins, toilets, dump point and great little township with awesome butcher, IGA's and newsagent. Thank you Glen and Clermont for a great stay.
