This place is absolutely amazing. Gorgeous little creek that has small cascading waterfalls all the way down. Short, but steep hike up to the cabin.
Pack only the essentials.
You were just a short driveway from Great restaurants and a grocery store would definitely stay here again 10 out of 10 recommend.

Were do I begin? This place was amazing. With a teen off to visit family my husband and I wanted a weekend getaway with the dogs. I’m not sure how we got lucky to find this gem last minute but I’m glad we did. One of our dogs can be a little leash reactive so to find a place where he can roam off leash is so wonderful. The dogs loved roaming around while we enjoyed the outdoors.
Don’t be me. I overpacked and wore Arizona Birkenstocks thinking short steep hike, pssshh I’ll be fine! Instead I turned back to the truck and put on trail runners. Pack a day pack with just your essentials and another backpack cooler with food. That’s all you will need! We were pleasantly surprised to find lanterns, coffee fixings and water.
My even keel husband rarely outwardly expresses impression. He had so many good things to say about this place, including the peacefulness, down to the quality of the build. Having built a few things in my day, curiousity got the best of me on how the materials we brought it, would love to see a little book on “how the little cabin came to be”.
We will be back! Maybe next time without dogs so we can enjoy the hot tub, looked like an epic experience!
We did try to find the hike to the falls but the path wasn’t super clear and I didn’t want to intrude on anyone’s space.

Great location with a cabin perched above a fern lined creek back in the woods. Clear directions and flawless check in. Cabin a big comfortable bed with plenty of blankets and was furnished with the basics, including five gallons of water. Easy access to the creek for getting your feet wet and letting the dog splash around in a really serene environment. Didn't meet the owners, but their big friendly dogs came around to say hi, which our dog loved. Very spotty cell and internet service, which can be a plus sometimes. Walk up is a relatively short graveled path but had a couple of steep parts so watch your step and bring shoes with a good tread.

This cabin is so peaceful. My husband and I had a wonderful 2 nights without our children at this romantic spot. Very private. Easy to get to. Great directions and information. We hope to come back many more times. It is a really a special place next to a stream with a waterfall. The cabin is perfectly placed and beautifully built. You can tell the owners pay attention to all the little details to give this rustic cabin all the comforts and cuteness of the cabin of your dreams. This was a great weekend getaway! Hike in was steep, about 10 minutes. Definitely pack only the essentials. Cabin is equipped with adequate lanterns, blankets, firewood, fire starts and lighters. Host if very thoughtful in things left inside the cabin. A small mirror for doing makeup, coffee and drip cloth for pour in, a small kettle for warming liquids. Soap for washing hands or doing dishes. Blankets for lounging inside or out. Every detail considered! Be sure to wear shoes with good traction for walking to and front cabin. The downhill going out can be tricky. Would 10/10 recommend. Creek sounds made for a cozy night sleep with the windows open. Temperatures were in the 80’s - 90’s and we stayed plenty cool in the shade of the trees.

My fifth trip to this amazing cabin and I’m sure we will be back. The definition of heaven on earth. If you need to unplug and unwind this is your spot. 100% private but not scary remote (owners and others homes on the property but very spread out), natural white noise to ensure you sleep like a baby brought to you by a beautiful cabin side waterfall, and the most thoughtful and expertly build cozy cabin we’ve ever stayed in. The trek in from parking is short but steep. We recommend you backpack in with only the essentials. Enjoyed every minute!

Rachel's place was a amazing! It had a great view of the waterfall/stream and we enjoyed all the wild life while drinking coffee on the porch. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking to ski or hike around mount hood.

Lovely cabin in the woods by a little stream. So perfect to fall asleep to. Loved the wood stove and tasteful furnishings. The cabin was extremely clean and Rachel had started a welcoming fire in the wood stove. I had mentioned cooking and she left me a little caste iron frying pan to use. It was a delightful escape from the city life. Thank you for sharing such a special spot.

This place is fantastic and Rachel is a great host! The cabin is cozy, offers a great escape, and the nearby creek/waterfall is charming to listen to while sleeping. My fiance and I got engaged here and we would definitely go again!

This was the best spot ever. Cabin had everything you needed and the layout was so well thought out and planned. Bathing in the stream was a highlight. We hope to be lucky enough to be back.

We had a very relaxing time. The roaring creek within a few feet of the cabin made for good night sleep. One of the pups from the property hung out with us for a morning and she was very sweet. We packed a little more than we should've and the hike in was a bit of a challenge so do keep that in mind.

We had the most relaxing time on this gorgeous property. We brought our two dogs and even though the July temperature reached the 90s, we stayed cool in the shade of the trees. We look forward to staying again.

This was easily the best two way getaway I’ve had in ages! The cabin was cozy, clean, the attention to details were perfect. We had plenty of privacy and space. The constant sound of the creek was the cherry on top. It rained quite a bit but the wood burning stove kept us plenty warm, we barely touched the generator. After a 10 mile day hike in the rain including a visit to Romona Falls the bed in the cabin was absolute heaven. Cannot wait to come back. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us Rachel 🙏🏽

This cabin was easily the best Hipcamp we’ve had on our cross country road trip! We didn’t want to leave. The location was perfect to check out Mount Hood. The trail to the cabin is steep but very much worth it. The host leaves little snacks and essentials and was great to communicate with. We’d definitely return and would highly recommend!

We had such a fantastic stay at Rachel’s cabin, we cannot wait to come back. It rained and poured a ton while we were there, but we made the best out of it. Due to high winds, we had no electricity within the cabin. None of that stopped us from our wonderful stay. Rachel had plenty of firewood ready for us, as well as drinking water. We loved being disconnected and spending time together with our doggie. We hiked in the rain, drove to the local spots, and enjoyed cooking s’mores inside the cabin. We cannot wait to come back, one of our most favorite stays to date. Listening to the waterfall at night was so relaxing and peaceful. Thank you Rachel for checking on us and making us feel at home. We are now addicted to Pendleton blankets because of you. :-) we are counting down until our next visit at your cabin.

This is an absolute GEM of a Hipcamp! Only about an hour outside of Portland and on the most beautiful piece of land. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate Halloween weekend and have a woodsy escape to close out a season of outdoor adventures.
The cabin is ADORABLE. It's lofted and has two small beds downstairs and one larger bed in the loft. The pillows and blankets are super comfortable. I took the best nap on the small bed with the window open because the sound of the creek outside was so relaxing.
Electricity runs on a generator, but we found that we barely needed to use it and opted for the many candles and wood burning stove (which kept us toasty!) to carry us into the evening.
There's a fire pit and plenty of firewood, which we used to cook up our dinner.
The outhouse by the cabin is super clean and well lit.
The space felt secluded and private.
The cabin is also close to a lot of outdoor activities like Little ZigZag Falls, Mirror Lake Hike, Mt. Hood. We drove up to Timberline Lodge but it was already a little too snowy (drive was beautiful though!)
We've already been talking about the next time we get to come back :) Thanks so much Rachel and Simon!

I have nothing bad to say about our stay at Crystal creek cabin. It was absolutely beautiful! Rachel was in touch with us and communicated quickly/clearly. The place is clean and has everything you need and nothing you don't. We were "THOSE" people who missed the turn despite Rachel's clear instructions and ended up in their driveway (sorry again!). Their pups paid us a visit and were very friendly (my daughter kept calling for them to come back throughout our stay ha). So envious of this little paradise. Can't wait to come again.

We had an incredible stay at Crystal Creek Cabin. We loved the sound of rushing water as we were falling asleep, the waterfall (Just a short walk away), and lounging in the hammock. There were lights down the pathways and automatic lights on the house and outhouse that made me feel safe walking outside at night. They also provided so much - headlamps, fire starter, wood, first aid kit, mugs, and more. We’re already talking about when we can come back.

The cabin is a perfect getaway. It’s gorgeous, the cabin, the creek, the location. We had a great time. We relaxed by the fire pit, laid in the hammock, and hiked to the waterfall. This place it perfectly equipped with items you may need. There is a generator for lights but we opted not to use it. We packed heavy, unsure of our plans away from the cabin. Once we arrived at the cabin, we packed only what we needed in our day packs to walk to the cabin with overnight essentials.

Great find! Good directions and fast communication with the host. Friendly dogs greeted us upon arrival and even led the way up the short incline to the cabin. The cabin was perfect- spotless, inviting, and full of charm. We had everything we needed (wood, matches, drinking water, cozy beds, and a composting toilet) and everything we didn’t (Wi-Fi, electricity, and television). 10/10 would recommend, 11/10 coming back again!
