Old West Mountain Camping Near LA!
Gorgeous scenery! Sites were marked clearly and well maintained. Unfortunately, I forgot to pack a few essentials so I wasn't able to spend a night but I will definately be back. Highly recommended!
I had an amazing stay! I came by myself and felt safe throughout my trip. I slept in my car, but I also had my tent as a backup. š I highly recommend this place to anyone, even solo travelers. Iāll definitely be coming back!

Just stopped overnight to see the meteor shower. Nice dark big sky! The hosts are very kind. I arrived rather late, after dark, but they led me to the site graciously. There is a picnic table at both sites I saw, and a thoughtful box put out with lights, games and bug spray. Thank you!

Old West Mountain Camping Near LA!
Extremely nice hosts with some very cool animals. We made friends with the three puppies that were running around the property, we couldn't believe how cute they were.
Had a last minute trip to stay here and it was so lovely! The campground itself had a picnic table and a few tree stumps that could be used as chairs. We watched the sunset and overnight heard the sound of birds and crickets. In the morning we woke up and after we had made our own breakfast we went to feed the horse and see the goats and also feed their 70-year-old tortoise named Benito on the property. They provided us with some board games to play with at the campsite which was so thoughtful. I really loved staying here. It was a very great way to get to camp within an hour of Los Angeles. Would definitely recommend.

Arminda & Alex are the best hosts you could ask for. This place was easy to find, and the couple and their family were nothing but lovely. The camping spots were serene and private. The hiking was fantastic and when they asked if we needed anything at all, we inquired about forgotten batteries. Not only did they provide them for us, they went out of their way to get them. I recommend lots of sunscreen but all in all I will recommend this place to everyone and be going back myself soon in the future!
Very nice and quiet stay away from the heat and crowds. A sort drive out of LA.
The address is easy to find. Location as described and expected, however, unable to find the āconeā where we were supposed to park. Nice place. Will come back. Easy access.

Great quiet spot, no one bothered us. Clean and easy to access. Beautiful. Took my daughter to Vasquez rocks and then camped here in our camper van. Quick and easy overnight from LA.

Such a lovely spot. Quiet, beautiful view. Rustic site, very private. Recommend arriving in daylight if possible to navigate the roads. Wonderful.
This is a beautifully remote property where you can take a break from civilization! We had fun hiking around and enjoying the scenery. No toilets so be prepared to pee in bush and pack out your waste.

Nice and quiet and private! Gives a great view overlooking the canyon.
The site is lovely although it depends on you are looking for. If you want to be out of sight and sound of civilization this is not for you as it is a ranch that is in sight and is in earshot of nice neighbor ranches and their animals. On the other hand it was close enough to the town of Acton and Vazquez Rocks State Park that it was great for my wife and I to drive our E Bikes all over. This was a shakedown cruise for my wife in our Roof Top Tent Rig and our e bikes- so being only about an hour drive to and from our regular home it was very convenient. The air and views of the Spring Blooming Yucca and distant mountains were lovely. I think this would be great for families. Lots of places to hike. The signs and cones listed to help designate the sites were missing and this was a problem for two other guests.
A little hard to find at the end, but once you find what seems right, you'll notice it's been camped at before. Very secluded feeling, and a very pretty view of sunset and sunrise. Not a huge amount of flat space, so be sure to being the right setup, but we were able to make a big tent work. Lots of wild birds and lizards. Not a lot of bugs, which was nice. Friendly bees visit the blooming yuccus, but didn't run into any aggressive insects. I'd stay there again.
This was a really nice space! Easy to follow directions - I would recommend saving the directions in case cell coverage is spotty. I saw quail in the morning which was super cool. The ground is level and there is even a picnic table for cooking.

Perfect spot to visit Vasquez Rocks. Directions to an actual site once in the property were a little sketchy, but all part of the adventure. We were alone among the beautiful surrounding hills, which is exactly what we wanted. Up in the morning, 15 minutes later, at Vasquez Rocks, just as the gates opened.

Great spot for a few days away from city life. We booked a few days over Thanksgiving to get some mountain views
During the day was sunny but did get cooler at night, lucky we had our diesel heater
Plenty of trails near by for a hike. Managed to get to the top of the mountain for a great view

Old West Mountain Camping Near LA!
This was our second time staying at the site and, again, had a fantastic time. My wife, 2-year-old, and I showed up in the afternoon and easily made it to the campsite. We visited with the horses and goats, which was a hit, before dinner and a cold beverage as we watched the sun silently set over the mountains (mixed with intermittent bursts of excitement from the toddler). One of the hosts, Sara, was awesome, and helped us with the goats and fresh eggs (phenomenal), and we got to learn a bit more about the property. She was also super communicative, as we arrived a bit later than anticipated after stopping at a local orchard on the way up.
The actual camping spot is huge and flat, so you could really setup a tent anywhere. There's a helpful picnic table right off to the side as well.

I enjoyed camping on Allenās property. Although the site is near the resident, it is very quiet and you donāt feel as though youāre camping on someoneās property. The view was spectacular and the site was very clean and maintained. There was a party going on in the distance but the sound was faint and sort of took away from the experience but Iām not holding that against the owner. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and I would definitely come back.

Beautiful land and felt secluded. We very much enjoyed our time and the meteor shower! Great spot not far from the city!
Perfect spot, easy to find with a lovely view to boot! We arrived around sunset and were able to quickly set up some space and enjoy the view with a light dinner. Would highly recommend!

Nice site. I stayed one night and hiked around the property. Very beautiful and austere. At the tent sites you could probably convince yourself you were in a national park. At the RV site you still see buildings/ houses. I'd camp here again.

Such a beautiful spot very close to LA. Sara was very kind and the kids had a great time riding bikes, petting the goats. An easy get away from the city that feels secluded. Highly recommend.

Old West Camping in Private Canyon
We had a fantastic memorial day weekend at this campsite. The views into a yucca-dotted canyon are absolutely impeccable, and the weather wasnāt too punishingly cold or hot while we were there. Allen was an incredible hostāhe gave us the grand tour of the property and gracefully allowed us to spend some time with the animals. We had a particularly fun time getting to know the goats. Would highly recommend to all looking for an easy getaway from the city!
