Sleeping in my tent on a deck built into a granite boulder overlooking a babbling creek - the ultimate sound machine for zzz’s - was every bit the experience I imagined it would be! And the outside tub was clutch at the end of a long day exploring Yosemite in its winter majesty. The hottest water (and plenty more when you need to heat it back up.. you won’t want to get out, ha!) felt amazing under the stars! So special. Definitely coming back.. Besutful property, otherwise, as well. Tucked back in an obviously upper class neighborhood, so I felt very safe, and truthfully lucky to have what I did so close to the park!

I loved camping on Christian’s property. It was the perfect size for me. The outdoor tub and shower was a treat for me after spending the days prior soaking in hot springs.

We stayed in our RV and loved it. The scenery was beautiful, the site was level and easy to access, and the rocks were fun to explore. I imagine it’s even better when the creek is flowing. The drive to Yosemite’s Southgate was less than an hour, and I highly recommend a stop at the California State Mining and Mineral Museum. We hope to return!

It’s a very cool little spot but probably best visited in the spring. The creek was practically empty, which for August shouldn’t have been surprising. The road in is a little dicey when towing a trailer. However, the bathtub and shower are awesome features, the swing was loved by my kids. And having water and electric was perfect.

Spot is beautiful, quiet, private, and well located for nature day trips. There was some shade in morning and evening. River is beautiful but was not running (when we visited in July). Deck shown in pictures is not adjacent to camping spot — it’s down the hill in a separate area. Shower was great touch. Come prepared to dig a hole to poop across the road or drive into town. Christian was helpful and quick to respond. It worked very well over all for our group. Thanks Christian!

Part of my review is due to the fact it seems there are two different “about” sections for this site. When I booked I saw 45min drive to Yosemite entrance from their property, all 4 days I was there it took 1hr to 1hr and 15min. I now also see a second “about” section that advertises 55 min to the entrance (for the way I went). I don’t know why but I can clearly go to see both even as I write this. This camp was advertised a site on a family’s 10 acres where there was also a guest house being rented out. I arrived to what felt more like a narrow parking spot up a driveway that faced a guest house. To reach any of the amenities such as the outdoor shower or creek, one has to walk down the driveway in between the houses. This in itself was no problem at all, however I would have preferred it listed ahead of time that the outdoor tub/shower deck was connected to the owner’s main house. Because of this, it did not really feel like I had access. Both times I went down it was either being used by someone in their family or their children were passing through the deck in between the house and the creek. This was usually around 6-8pm as I tried to go before dark. I have no problem with the family being and living there, but for it to be a true amenity worth the cost of ~ $85/night I would prefer it not feel blocked/uncomfortable for me to use. Last thing, I didn’t have service at all on their property, not their fault or in their control but it felt worth mentioning for safety.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a little weekend getaway and this was perfect! The camp spot was the perfect size for the two of us, and the outdoor shower/bath added such a magical atmosphere to our trip!

Super awesome creek!! The watering hole was so refreshing on a summer day. Christian was an amazing host as well, our truck got stuck in a ditch and he was right there to pull us out! Overall amazing campsite and stay.

The spot designated for camping is just a weedy little area with a table and fire pit. No shade , come prepared.
BUT, the river makes up for it, it really does look like paradise, I Pleasant put my lawn chair there and let the dog roam. I’ll post a video.
The outdoor shower and tub are very cool, but, there are two airb&b sharing it so you might want to wear a bathing suit or be surprised by visitors if you’re naked.

Beautiful property. We loved being close to the creek and outside bath. It’s super quiet and peaceful there. I highly recommend staying there if you are not an RV park person. Dogs are free to roam and go swimming. The only problem is that it took us 1 hour and 40 minutes to get to the park. It made it hard to go back and forth all the time. It was still totally worth it though!

Chris was a great host, very accommodating and had a beautiful property for our RV. The kids and dogs got to run and play safely and the best part we got a bath under the stars at the end of the day! Woke up and had a short jaunt to Yosemite the next day. I would stay here any time and recommend it to everyone

Christians property was among the most beautiful we’ve had the chance to stay at. Great communication through the whole experience. Beautiful, comfortable & accessible site for our 20’ Airstream & tow vehicle.
Don’t overlook this listing without checking the pics of the outdoor shower & bathtub. Close to Yosemite Park entrance, beautiful drive in. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Christian’s land is very remote and offers amenities of a tub that fits two as well as an outdoor shower! The land is spacious and comfortable and the nature is beautiful. Christian is an incredibly gracious host who cooperated with our arrival and went above and beyond to share which hikes in the Yosemite park are worth it! He and his sons are awesome, and we are very grateful that we got to connect!! 10/10 recommend this site!

We booked this site for one night, however we left soon after arriving. First of all, it was quite a distance from Yosemite. It was confusing when we arrived because we weren’t certain of the parking situation. We were able to speak with a handyman who was working on the property, and then found our spot. We did contact a person at the main house, who was also renting and he showed us the bathtub/shower area. The path getting to this area was a bit rough, so anyone with balance issues may have problems. At the picnic table, the previous guests had left two bags of garbage and coffee. We disposed of their garbage. Given the temperature of the day (100+ degrees) in October, we found the situation distressing, so we left and continued our trip heading out to the ocean. We wish we would have read a previous review who had expressed issues. This site would work for those folks who want a spot in this area. We are thankful that the handyman and renter were there when we arrived, otherwise we would have had more unanswered questions.

I didn't end up staying and I want to explain why. First, I also want to say that aside from receiving the initial instructions after my reservation was approved, I never heard from the host again. I've never had that happen on HipCamp
The bathtub is not adjacent to the campsite. You will be parked next to the driveway relatively close to the house. This is NOT what I had in mind. I suppose privacy is a very subjective issue, but it wasn't what I had in mind. You access the bathtub by walking around the house. So, it's not part of your campsite.
When I got there I noticed some yellow jackets swarming around a spot on the camping site. I can't say if it's because someone dropped something there that they were drawn to or if there is a yellow jacket in the ground there. Either way, if I get stung I'm swelling up like the elephant man. By the time I parked and took a look around and walked back to my van, it was swarmed with yellow jackets. I cannot risk the possibility of getting stung.
The other thing I wanted to mention is in the description of this site (currently) it says "River status: Flowing and BEAUTIFUL!". Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a drop of water flowing. This isn't what I had in mind. And I drove the 3 hours home because of it. I wasted probably$350 on this trip. Wouldnt do it again.

Calea and Christian are as welcoming as their land is beautiful! We booked two nights on their hipcamp lot with our campervan. We were happy to have the firepit and access to potable water while being so close to Yosemite, but the real treat was their outdoor shower/tub and access to their refreshing backyard creek. During the hot day we took our dogs for a dip and after all of us cooled off, we laid out on the shore and took a nap by the flowing water. Their land was a healing and welcome oasis for us and we’re so thankful they opened it up for us to experience it! We’ll DEFINITELY return next time we’re near Yosemite.

Amazing property with a private creek that is incredibly refreshing in the summer heat. Really great hosts and felt very welcomed to their home. Close to Yosemite and easy access via the shuttle bus in Mariposa if you’re looking to avoid driving into Yosemite.

Lovely spot near the river and wonderfully welcoming hosts. While you can see some buildings from the tent spot it feels private and is very quiet. Tent spot is very flat and has a picnic table. Water spigots available. The tub and shower were a short 4 min walk from the side down near the river. Wonderful swimming holes and a gorgeous river running below. Water was clean and clear. Bring bug spray. We sat in the creek with our chairs all day. Very peaceful. Only one other family or two sharing the river but plenty of space to spread out. Will be dreaming of coming back.
