Peace and quiet equals “Solitude at my farm. I’m just like you. I want to camp at a quiet place in the country where it’s plenty of acres and no houses to look at and a clean bathroom and shower. Well it’s here. I’m Located in Wakefield Virginia. If you’re traveling to Virginia Beach I’m one hour away. From my farm there is a free ferry in Scotland where the ferry departs to Williamsburg just 30 minutes. At my farm I have 5 sites for tent/camping so it’s spaced appropriately apart I have 2 Rv sites totally away for their privacy and a new mini house also properly spaced away. All have a clean picnic table and a fire pit. 100 feet away you’ll find that clean bathroom, shower and a wash station for hygiene. You’ll see the love I put into this and because I love it and my prior guests love it, which means it may be right for you also. In the town of Wakefield you’ll find gas stations, dollar stores, a Value food market and if you want (to go) food we have that also. Plus it’s home to The Virginia Diner. Amenities include toilet access, a shower, trash disposal, picnic tables, and potable water. Pets are allowed, as are campfires.

At the working mill the owner's wife baked pies for the workers to enjoy while they waited for their ground grains (most likely corn, soybeans and wheat). The pond is also recognized as Courtney Mill Pond and Kissinger Mill Pond. Fires in the 1980's have claimed the building creating a perfect place for you to enjoy nature outside. Learn more about this land: Fresh and salt water surrounds a birding, fishing paradise with 5 acres to explore. Bald Eagles are a common siting. We offer a primitive camping experience in the heart of the Northern Neck.  The road is washed out and fresh water pond mostly drained. You will access from Mundy Point Road. This historical site had a working Mill built in the early 1800's. Please check out my friend's place nearby at Callao Brewery and Rivah Vineyards at the Grove!  Grab some fresh local veggies from one of the Amish stands and don't forget your tackle and bait at RW's. Camp 1 has the most room for car camping and groups close to the road and overlooking the pond. Camp 2 is a short hike to a private knoll overlooking the grassy marsh of Mill Creek, this is tidal water that flows to the Potomac. Welcome to Gratitude!

The site was quiet and beautiful. We really enjoyed walking the farm and seeing the animals. I caught my first Bluegill in the lovely fishing pond. I would definitely recommend Peace Hill Farm if you’re looking for peace and quiet in a rustic rural setting.

We had a great experience car camping on Michael’s property. He was super helpful and the site had great amenities. It was very clean, spacious, and private. We really enjoyed walking the attached trail and visiting with the friendly farm animals. Would definitely return in the future.

Best place ever! We came and had our first camping trip as a family. Marvin and his wife were extremely kind, understanding, patient and supportive. My ten year old son absolutely loved camping here at the farm and Marvin made us feel like we were at our other home. We are already planning to go back! What a dream of a trip! Thank you Marvin for ensuring my son and husband are convinced camping is our thing. And being only a hour from Downtown Norfolk, oh we will def return often as we can.

Just needed to park my car and sleep in it and this was easy to come and go. Several amenities but I didn’t use the firepit or even walk the property. Spacious and was mostly unbothered my whole stay. Thanks for being accommodating.

Weekend Trip to Gratitude at the Mill Pond
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely campsite and look forward to coming back. The car camp site was spacious with a fire ring, and the walk-in site is past the first site down a path that goes along the creek. Our stay was peaceful and we enjoyed watching and listening to the local wildlife.

Great lil overnight getaway for me n the pup not far from Richmond. Was able to book day of for some last minute peace. The property was beautiful and quiet both during sunset and sunrise. Evie and her partner helped lead me into the site and offered to be around if need be. My dog loved the attention and love they gave her upon meeting! Definitely would recommend!

Lovely quiet spot. The AC in the sugarshack was a lifesaver. Loved the little walking trail and all the little amenities. The host was super nice and helpful as well. Definitely will be visiting again.

This was my second visit and. It has been very pleasant. The place is isolated but as all the amenities described. The site is clean. The site is spacious, there is a trail to get to the site and. I saw deer and wildlife. The check in was done at night and the host was very responsive. A phone call quickly put me on the right location. The place is secluded, if you want to see the sky this is one of the best places in the area if you’re in the 757. I wanted to see the stars but it was cloudy. I still had a great time. Highly recommend

Weekend Trip to Drewry Blueberry Farm
A hidden gem just outside of Hampton Roads! We stayed at Site 1 - The Orchard. The property is beautiful. The site was lovely. They even left the lights on for us as we were coming in late. You can tell they really care about their property and the site. Both are meticulously maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the sounds of nature, and the beautiful orchards. There is electric hook ups and water on site. The site is very well shaded. It’s a short walk down a small hill to the u-pick blueberry patch. We didn’t take the time to pick this go round but absolutely plan to come again and do so. The road to the site is gravel but grated well and clear. We had no issues getting to the site and backing in with our 17ft trailer. Michael stopped by, at the end of our stay, to wish us safe travels and say hi. We enjoyed meeting him. We’ll absolutely be adding this HipCamp to the rotation of spots not far from home!
