Animals, bikes, canoes, walking and swimming. This property features paddocks with shady trees. Situated close to the river. The beach is a short drive away. Horses and small animal experience available, ask on arrival. I recommend booking a walk with the horses the river for an hour. This campsite has access to a beautiful toilet/hot shower and drinking water supply in the workshop. There is also an outdoor shower in a water tank surround and an outside bath heated by a fire. Small camp kitchen with coffee machine, fridge, sink and bench also in the workshop. Large outdoor movie screen, we generally screen family movies on Saturday night among the gum trees and strings of lighting. Please enquire if you are interested. Campfires and bonfires permitted in winter. No fire from October to May. While you're here check out the Greenough walk and cycle track that follows the river. It's only 3km to the beach, and you can walk or take your bike there (bike hire is available in town). We have canoes. Greenough Settlement/café and Wild Life Park close by. Pets welcome on a lead. Off lead welcome after we had met and chatted. Dogs are a danger to all horses, guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens. Off lead without consultation will not be tolerated. Please enter Devlin Pool Rd at the Northern end where it meets Jandanol Rd. We are the 3rd driveway.

The original cottage is still on site and is a long term renovation project for us, it may be old but holds lots and lots of history behind them walls. The verandah area is yours to use, if you wish, for a bit of extra room to escape the rain or provide a bit of shade (depending on season) it has a powerpoint and light for your convenience. You can also snorkel over the reef area close to shore, fish off the beach, kayak or just swim. The campsite is secure and easy to access. You can set up anywhere in the vicinity of the lean-to shed in the neatly mowed area. The area is relatively flat with scattered limestone cap rock. It is easy to manouvre around, even for large vans including 5th wheelers. The camping area is approximately one acre, surrounded by trees. You’re welcome to walk around the bottom of the property, staying within the boundary of the ring lock fencing. We reside at the rear of the property in a fully fenced area with two dogs. The campsite is located near the front of the property. There are melaleuca trees/bush between both locations that offer privacy and the perfect setting for a campsite. You’ll have the whole site to yourself or with your traveling companions. (The site can accommodate up to 3 vans if travelling together). It’s self check-in, and we’ll respect your privacy — the area is yours to enjoy. Pets are welcome off leash, provided they are under control and you remain mindful of the local wildlife. We often see families of kangaroos, the occasional echidna, and several bird species that love the Melaleuca trees on our property. There’s a lean-to shed for your use and plenty of great spots to set up your van or tent. Please note you’ll need to be fully self-sufficient regarding power and ablution facilities. There is however a 3000 litre fresh water tank for your use. During the autumn and winter months, once the spring/summer fire ban is lifted, you’ll have access to a fire pit and firewood for a cozy campfire. At night time the night sky is amazing, so much to see. Most nights the ocean can be heard in the distance breaking on the reef. Perfect location to rest/recharge. Would highly recommend stopping at this beautiful place. I arrived to a warm welcome from Sara, she was very accommodating and understanding as she helped me settle in. The place was beautiful with heaps of room for for families and a walk away from the river . I got to park near the horses and the pony , too cute 😊 Thank you Sara for making me feel welcome 🙏

1 night at Dongara Bush Camp

Dongara Bush Camp was a fantastic place to base ourselves for the Dongara area. Although the Coastal conditions were hot and windy, the DBC site was sheltered and shaded. It was a short 5 minute drive to the beach and shops but it was always great to return to the peaceful bush camp. Having a super clean flushing toilet and delicious rainwater was a great bonus. We enjoyed the spacious camp kitchen which was full of character and provided a comfortable place to relax and share a meal. We came for one night and stayed for three, we could not recommend this place highly enough.

Just as described in the ad. Easy to find, a quiet field next to the owners property. The dogs were fine, didn’t bother us at all - they were more interested in the neighbours dog. Didn’t meet the host as we arrived around 7pm and left at 5am. Trees creating shade and a few swings hanging in the trees. A lovely place, would visit again and recommend. Thanks

We really enjoyed the relaxed, secluded powered site beneath a huge shady tree, and our dog was very reluctant to leave after a two night stay. The spacious sites are level and mostly covered in grass, we were lucky to have the whole area to ourselves. Despite some traffic noise, the wandering chickens created a countryside atmosphere.

We had a fantastic stay at Hill River Farm. We had plenty of space and privacy and the setting was really peaceful. The grounds and toilet are kept immaculate and Anita has been a fantastic host! This is a great spot to base yourself if you’re visiting Geraldton but want some serenity. Our dog travelled with us and there was lots of room for him to play.

My hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mallee Manor , Charlie and Sharen were exceptional hosts. Their property is very well maintained , with level ground and shady areas. Its very relaxing . It was unfortunate that we had some poor weather which shortened our stay , however I would highly recommend Charlie and Sharen's property and will hopefully be back in the future.

Excellent camping spot, secluded feel but close to town. Flushing toilet and camp kitchen made camping a very comfortable experience. Dog friendly is a major plus, would recommend to anyone headed north.
