Our studio cabins are self-contained, separate, and private. We also offer tent sites, and campervan sites, complete with composting toilets, along with private tipis.

Shires of Myrtle Forest

Shires of Myrtle Forest is a heavy horse stud located at Myrtle Forest on the back of Mount Wellington, just outside Hobart. We are a highland mountain property in the cool temperature rainforest just 15 minutes from the outskirts of Hobart We have a beautiful year round creek, resident heavy horses and great walking tracks. We are located a few hundred metres from the Myrtle Forest walk and waterfall.  We have unpowered sites located on the forest fringe, each with a firepit. We have firewood available so you can sit and enjoy the cool mountain evenings around the roaring fire. We have lovely rainforest to explore where wildlife abounds... wallabies, potoroos, wombats, bandicoots and Eastern quoll. Visitors must be self-contained. Dogs not permitted.In summer we have balmy days with views of Mount Wellington and in winter we often have snow to play in.Our resident horses love attention and a few carrots :) we breed shire horse and Freyja our resident drum horse loves a pat. Facilitated Daily walks available by appt.

Bomana - Bushland Delight with Breathtaking Views

Bomana is a 36 acre property in Carlton River, on the way to the Tasman Peninsular. It boasts stunning views of Fredrick Henry Bay, kunanyi and neighbouring rural landscapes. The owners live on site (top corner of the block). We are offering two opportunities to camp/van/caravan on this delightfully private land. When you book, you can be assured that the property is yours alone, making it a quiet and private experience. The unpowered site gives you the opportunity to enjoy the land. The powered site additionally gives you access to a bungalow which has a couch, TV, bed and dining table, as well as a very basic kitchenette with a toaster and kettle. There is also a power lead if you just want to run power to your own set-up. Campfires are a must - nothing better than watching the sun set around the campfire.

This is a leave no trace property that suits campers who bring everything they need (including a camping toilet) and remove everything they bring. Good access for 2WD vehicles and caravans.

 Lots of opportunities to capture photos of sensational sunrises and sunsets.

The property is 3km from Primrose Sands Beach (great for safe swimming). It is 4.5km from Carlton Beach (great for surfing), 37km from Port Arthur and 13km from Sorell. Hobart is 45km.

We have goats on the property so pets will be considered on a case-by-case basis, please ask before booking with pets.

Valleydew Paddock Camp

The location is central and close to a number of activities and events. The area is known for amazing bushwalking, kayaking and all types of nature based activities. We are also close to annual shows and events such as Taste of Huon and the Cygnet Folk Festival. Lots of local markets, music venues and Farmgate sales, each weekend. 

Try the delicious local fruit, vegetables and seafood/ meat....add some fresh herbs and seasonal produce from the abundant organic garden. Onsite we have kayaks and bikes for campers to use(deposit required).

Located in Ranelagh, 2 mins from Huonville, 45 mins from Hobart, 20 mins from Cygnet, 10 mins from Franklin.

Your hosts offer a beautiful paddock and yard in the amazing Huon Valley. We are a small farm with animals and gardens on the edge of residential convenience.

Pets are welcome as are campfires in the designated fire pit.

Coal Valley View Hobby Farm

Once owned by a local farmer who divided his land into 4 lots and sold them before he passed away. This tranquil coal valley property will have a 3 bedroom guest house available apart from the campsite.There are future plans of having other off grid cabins in the bushland, enjoying breathtaking views, fresh air, wildlife and the great food available around the coal river area.
