Set in a gully with a winter creek (Willow Creek) running through (dry in warmer months). Conveniently located within walking distance to the main street of Clarendon - five minutes to the Bakery and 10 minutes to the Royal Oak Hotel and General Store! The property offers the best views of Clarendon via a short walk to the top paddock. There is a limit of 2 private, protected campsites near the creek, each well-maintained and level, with scattered gum trees that provide lovely shade in the morning and afternoon. Camp Toondilla is set up for self-contained campers who bring their own camp toilet and take all waste with them when they go. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Plenty of options in the area to keep the outdoor enthusiast busy, including: nearby wineries (some dog friendly), beaches (Moana and Aldinga/Silver Sands can be driven on), reservoirs (Mt Bold - hiking and views) and (Happy Valley - hiking, running, kayaking, fishing), Onkaparinga National Park and Scott Creek Conservation Park, ForestrySA land (including TreeClimb, Bone Gully MTB and parkrun on Saturdays at The Avenues - Kuitpo (Your host is the Event Director). This is an operating small sheep farm of over 100ha. For security reasons the exact location is not advertised, but will be disclosed upon arrival on Kangaroo Island. It is a secure place to set up camp and have peace of mind that your belongings will be safe while you are away from the site. My partner and I had a fabulous time at Koala Retreat, Heath and Allan are fantastic hosts who showed us more hospitality than we received anywhere in Australia. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and wildlife. We were lucky enough to see a Koala, as well as tons of kangaroos and birds. Weekend Trip to Koala Coast Retreat Farm

We loved our two night stay at Koala Coast Retreat. The views were amazing across to the ocean, we had a really private spot all to ourselves which was amazing, but there are more social spots if you prefer. Heath was an amazing host and Daisy the dog was adorable. Directions were super easy .. and its just a 2 minute drive down the road from Fleurieu Gin which was great to go to for lunch ... we were lucky we had perfect weather. Definitely be back again. Thanks Allan and Heath.

Kim and Michael’s property was a peaceful oasis overlooking the vines. We stayed here for 2 nights with family in 2 vans and loved the open space. Michael gave us a great wine tasting, explaining from start up of their family winery. Perfect location for exploring the McLaren region with Aldi close by for grocery top ups. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

They were lovely hosts and we got to sample some of their very nice wines which are available for purchase. They will happily assist with suggested places to visit whilst in McLaren Vale. Great quiet spot for our 19’6 caravan for a couple of nights. Steve the host was amazing and made us feel right at home. One of the best stays we’ve had on our lap and will be back again here next time we are around. This spot is a perfect central location for exploring the Adelaide Hills region. Only 2 spots makes this feel really private too.

We took a group of friends here for their first camping experience. Lots of space, and the amenities (toilet, hot showers, communal kitchen) helped ease them in to the camping lifestyle. David and Michelle were such great and welcoming hosts and were very easy to communicate with. We definitely will come back and highly recommend this campsite
